MY UNKNOWN HUSBAND, VOLUME 2 - Season 4 Episode 13
On Monday
Nina was back in school. She went to her apartment at noon. Michelle was cooking lunch in the kitchen.
As soon as Nina entered the kitchen, Michelle jumped up and walked over to her. She quickly pushed her out.
“You don’t need to help me, Nini. Just wait somewhere else. Better yet, contact Emma and find out if she’s on her way. Open the door for her when she arrives.”
“I don’t want to help. I just want to take a photo.” Nina knew that she would break something if she stayed in the kitchen, so she did not linger for longer than she needed to.
However, John asked her to take a photo of her lunch for him.
Michelle sighed, let go of Nina, and stood aside. “Fine. Take the photos. After that, you leave me to do my thing.”
Since Nina broke the chopping block with a knife and Leon ended up breaking the dishes he was washing, Michelle had been particularly afraid whenever either of them entered the kitchen. What if they hurt themselves?
Seeing that Michelle was eager to get rid of her, Nina could not help laughing.
“Okay, okay. I’ll be out of your hair in a second.” Nina walked over, took the photos, and got out of Michelle’s way. She immediately sent the photos to John.
She texted to him, “Are you satisfied now?”
John replied, “Yes. You can’t eat anything cold or spicy, okay?”
“Yes, I know.”
“All right.”
After staring at the screen for a while, he sent her another message asking, “Are you in a good mood?”
Nina was stunned. She did not understand why her husband suddenly asked this question. She turned her head and looked toward the kitchen. She could smell what Michelle was cooking from where she was standing. Before texting John back, she got a message from Emma saying that she was almost at the door.
Nine replied to John, “Yes.”
Seeing Nina’s reply, John breathed a sigh of relief. He was finally able to relax. When girls are in their menstrual period, they have a bad temper.
Especially his wife.
Last time, she smashed him and almost gave him massive internal injuries. “Remember to keep happy, okay?” he said.
“You’re like a nagging old man.” “There’s one word that doesn’t belong there.”
Nina smirked and texted, “Okay. You’re a nagging old man.”
With his phone in his hand, John was speechless.
He did not know how to reply.
He didn’t like the word “old.”
In truth, Nina understood what John meant. She just wanted to mess with him a little. A few minutes had passed, and she got no reply from him. He must be angry.
Right on cue, the doorbell rang.
Before getting the door, Nina quickly wrote a reply to John that said, “Emma’s here. We’re going to eat now. Don’t skip your meals, honey.”
“Hello! I’m here!” Nina opened the door and saw Emma happily standing outside with a big bottle of cola in her arms.
“I brought the cola Mimi told me to get,” she chirped. She changed into a pair of slippers as soon as she walked inside. Nina closed the door and asked, “Does Mimi want to drink cola today?”
“No, she’s going to use this to make cola chicken wings.” Emma turned to look at Nina. “You haven’t tried cola chicken wings, have you?”
Nina shook her head.
She did not even know that cola chicken wings were a dish.
“Oh, you should try them. Mimi makes the best cola chicken wings.” Emma smiled and yelled toward the kitchen, “Mimi, I got your cola. Where do you need it?”
“In here, please.” Mimi’s sweet voice sounded from the kitchen. “And I need your help, too, Emma.”
“Okay, I’ll be right there.” Emma nodded at Nina and then went into the kitchen to help Michelle.
Nina could only stand at the entrance of the kitchen and watch them work. Michelle was ladling the braised fish while Emma was massaging the chicken wings.
Emma had no idea that Nina was a disaster in the kitchen. Seeing her seriously watching them, she looked up at her and asked, “Would you like to try?”
Michelle was busy cooking another dish, so she did not notice what was happening. Nina walked over to Emma.
“Why do you massage the chicken wings?” Nina asked. She excitedly put on some disposable plastic gloves. Pointing at the sauce inside, Emma answered, “The chicken wings will absorb the sauce better if they’re massaged.”
“Oh, I see. Let me try.” Nina reached in and began massaging the chicken wings.
Within three seconds of massaging the chicken wings, she made a piece of raw chicken wing break in half.
Nina raised her brows, looking a little confused.
On the other hand, Emma was petrified.
“I think I broke one of them.” Nina lifted one of the chicken wings and showed it to Emma who saw that the chicken bone was clearly snapped in two.
Emma stared at Nina in disbelief, unable to react for a long time.

They were raw chicken wings.
They were not supposed to fall apart easily like those in KFC.
They were supposed to remain intact until they were cooked.
“I’m sorry. I just pulled it lightly.” Nina bit her lip shyly.
She really did not expect that that would happen.
Emma was still speechless.
If Nina could break raw chicken wings in half with a gentle pull, could she tear people apart with her bare hands if she used her strength?
‘No, it’s cruel to tear people apart.
Try something else.’
Although Emma was frightened, she decided not to think about it too much. Instead, she took out an apple from the fridge and handed it to Nina.
“Can you break that in half?”
Nina took the apple and looked at it for two seconds. Then, there was a crisp sound.
The apple was divided into two halves.
Nina held half of the apple in each hand. The tear was not right in the middle, but it still astonished Emma.
How could a seemingly harmless girl tear an apple in half with her bare hands?
It was an eye opener for Emma. She reluctantly took half of the apple and started, “Nina, you’re really… a lady with great power.”
“I’ve known it since I was a child.” Nina raised her eyebrows, raised the apple to her lips, and took a bite. “It’s very sweet. Take a bite.”
Emma took a bite and chewed it carefully. “You’re right. It’s very crispy, too.”
The two of them looked at Michelle and then looked at each other. When their eyes met, they suddenly laughed.
They felt guilty about ruining one chicken wing.
At the same time, they felt that they should have been good friends a long time ago.
Michelle was finally done with that she was doing and walked toward Nina and Emma. She looked at the two of them in confusion and asked, “Where are the chicken wings?”
Nina stopped chewing and said, “I’ll go wait somewhere else.”
She sneaked away.
Without Michelle noticing, she stuffed the broken chicken wing in one of the plastic gloves that she had worn and took it with her.
When Emma handed the bowl of chicken wings to Michelle, Michelle asked, “Why are there only five chicken wings left? Where is the sixth piece?”
“I don’t know. Maybe it ran away,” Emma answered, giggling.
Michelle was confused, but she was not stupid. “Chicken wings are parts from dead chickens. They can’t run away. Did you drop it somewhere?”
Emma smiled, “It doesn’t matter. I won’t eat many anyway.”
“Fine.” Michelle was still a little confused but decided to let it go. She shook her head and said, “You and Nina can eat all of the chicken wings. I’ll buy more in the future.”
Then, Michelle turned around and began to cook the cola chicken wings. Beside her, Emma watched and asked for some cooking advice.
Seeing that Michelle did not notice her sneaking away with a broken chicken wing, Nina went back to the kitchen doorway. She leaned against the wall and took a photo. Then, she sent a message to the group chat of Beggars’ Sect.
“James, are you coming? Mimi made lunch.”
“No, I’m not. You guys eat lunch by yourselves. Aunt Nina, you know the agreement between Mimi and me. Why would you want me to go there? Do you have the heart to set me up?”
With a smile, Nina sent the photo she had just taken to the group. There were only Michelle and Emma in it.
Emma was there!
James immediately replied, “I’m on my way.”
Staring at the screen, Nina smiled and said to Michelle, “Mimi, James is coming.”
“Now? Then I’ll add another dish,” Michelle replied with a glint of slyness in her eyes.
Chuckling, Nina said, “Seize this opportunity, Mimi. The agreement between you two will be finished in two days.”
“I know, I know.” Michelle nodded with a smile. She and Nina really knew each other well.
Emma just watched them with raised eyebrows.
