MY UNKNOWN HUSBAND, VOLUME 2 - Season 3 Episode 97
Nina had no idea that she was toying with fire. Her vision was blurred, her gaze easily distracted.
“Honey, do you know what you just said?” John bent down and reached out his hand to pinch Nina’s face.
Nina nodded absentmindedly. “I asked if you didn’t like me giving one-word replies like mmm, yes, and hmm.”
“No, the other thing you said. The one after that.” John kissed her lips, and what little space was left between them was filled with the sound of his heart’s frantic drumming and his labored breathing.
“I said, if I say those three words together, you can’t stand it,” Nina repeated.
She had developed the habit of speaking in a rather aggrieved tone when she was drunk.
John chuckled.
Is she seducing me right now?’ he wondered.
“Then don’t cry later.” John tipped her chin upward and pecked at her nose.
Nina reveled in his scent, and she grabbed his collar to pull him forward so she could bask in it fully. Their bodies moved close.
“But you do want me to cry. The more, the better, right?” She looked up at him with wide, innocent eyes, a sharp contrast to the forceful hand that had pulled him to her.
John wasn’t daunted by her words; her tone was too casual for him to feel guilty.
Anyone who might be listening could quickly tell that he wasn’t bullying a girl. Instead, it was Nina who was flirting with John.
“I don’t want you to cry,” John whispered in Nina’s ear. “I just want you to…”
“Why don’t we get on with it and see?” She lay on her back, and he draped himself over her.
Pleasure-filled moans echoed throughout the room along with the bed that creaked beneath their intense actions.
The more she screamed, the more he was enticed to move quicker, deeper, and stronger. He never failed to make the woman beneath him scream out his name endlessly.
Their screams harmonized, making a lewd symphony and with one final thrust, all was undone. He then looked at her. He grinned as he panted, “It’s still too early, honey. Let’s do it again.”
She let out a weak laugh, her cheeks dyed in red. “You monster.”
Meanwhile, at No. 1 Stone Road, an entirely different scene was playing out.
“Get on your knees!” Sam ordered. He was furious.
Jessica knelt on the floor, trembling. She lowered her head and sobbed.
Angela stood aside and did nothing to stop the family patriarch.
This was the first time in thirty years that Sam had been so angry at Jessica, and the first time that she was ever ordered to kneel as punishment.
Sam looked at his daughter with disdain, this child that he himself had raised. “I’m so ashamed to have a daughter like you.”
Despite her ego, Jessica was terrified. Leon had stated earlier that her behavior would affect diplomatic relations between their countries; and now her father was bearing down upon her with a fury she had never known him to be capable of. She continued to sob helplessly.
“Jessica, you want me to die early, don’t you? That’s why you made such a big trouble for our Shi family.” Sam paced back and forth. “If Leon hadn’t mentioned how you have always been against Nina, I would have brushed off your antics at the party and dismissed them as pettiness on your part. But you’ve even been colluding with that girl from the Ye family this entire time.”
“Dad, I didn’t… I didn’t mean to hurt the Shi family.” Jessica raised her head to glance at her father as she spoke, but immediately bowed again.
“Well that’s just exactly what you’re doing now, isn’t it? You’ve damaged the image of the family as well as that of your brother! If Leon wants to hold you accountable for your actions, no one in our family can save you. Do you want to offend the whole C Island by offending their princess?” Spit was flying out of Sam’s mouth as he barked the words, and his throat was starting to turn purple.

“Mr. Shi! Mr. Shi…” Jake immediately stepped forward to his assistance and tried to coax Sam into a calm.
Angela was there, too. “Dad, are you okay? Calm down for a bit. You mustn’t get so angry.”
“Dad…” Jessica said worriedly. She had risen half-way from the floor to go to her father. “Are you okay?”
“Stay on your knees!” Sam roared, and then Jessica had no choice but get back to her kneeling position.
She pouted, and when she spoke again she sounded aggrieved. “Dad, I know I was wrong. But I really had no idea that Nina is a princess! I thought she was just…”
“Shut up!” Sam shook off Jake’s arm and pointed at Jessica. “Don’t give me any of your excuses. All you ever care about is family background and connections. If you didn’t carry the Shi name, you yourself would amount to nothing.”
“That’s irrelevant, because I did get born with the Shi family name,” Jessica said defiantly.
Pak!
Sam hit her again. “So it’s my fault then. I shouldn’t have had you!”
Jessica burst into another torrent of tears as she rubbed her swollen face. “Fine! I’ll go apologize to Nina tomorrow, okay?”
“If Nina weren’t the princess of C Island, you wouldn’t even think of owning up to your mistakes, would you? Much less pay for them.” Angela looked at Jessica with cold and serious eyes.
Jessica bit her lips and did not deny the other woman’s words.
Seeing her impenitence, Angela only shook her head. “You really are hopeless. I’ve told you time and again to stay away from those socialites you always keep in your circles. All they do is spout inane flattery in order to suck up to you. You never listen. Now they’ve rubbed off on you, and just like those mindless fools, your view of the world has been overshadowed by bias and selfishness.”
“Let me ask you this. Will you allow your son to marry a woman from a family of no consequence or any background to speak of?” Jessica asked with no small amount of spite. “I only did what I had to for the sake of my brother.”
“How dare you say that you did it for your brother!” Sam erupted. Jake rushed forward again, and Angela also asked Sam to calm down.
Jake took a step towards Jessica until she was right in front of the kneeling girl. “Tell me, then, what would you consider as a perfect marriage match? The ideal marriage would be a union between two people who share the same opinion and views of the world, and life, the same values. Their backgrounds have nothing to do with it.
Ye family, Shi family and Song family are of similar status. John is a vigorous and resolute man. Noah did not inherit the family business, but has become a policeman. Adrian is a playboy.
Everyone is different. You can’t judge whether this person could be your friend or not by their family background, nor you can measure the love between two people by their family background.
I can guarantee to you that even if the day comes when John goes bankrupt, Nina will be right by his side. In that regard, do you think it really matters to John whether Nina comes from a rich family or not?
If family background was all that important, do you think I would have married your brother back then? I could have easily had my pick of men from other, more powerful families compared to the Shi family.”
Jessica’s tears had stopped, and her sobbing had been replaced by the sound of sniffing. Angela’s words brought Jason to her mind. Jason, who had always been there for her, left her. Tears welled in her red eyes once again.
She couldn’t help but wonder, ‘Was I really wrong this whole time?’
It wasn’t easy for Jessica to accept her wrongdoings in such a short time. She could only lower her head in silent shame as tears continued to flow down her face.
She didn’t try to argue anymore, and it somewhat appeased Sam’s anger. He motioned for Jake. “Call Jason over. Tell him there’s something I want to discuss with him. As for you, keep kneeling. I’ll decide on your punishment after I’m done talking with your husband.”
The old man knew all too well the kind of person his daughter was. She was all grown up now; they were no longer in a position where he could discipline and educate her as he liked. That responsibility now fell on Jason’s shoulders, and he trusted his son-inn-law to uphold it.
Jessica and Angela froze at the patriarch’s mandate.
What was supposed to come would indeed come sooner or later.
