MY UNKNOWN HUSBAND, VOLUME 2 - Season 3 Episode 96
After a moment’s hesitation, Wynn said, “Maybe even if Nina is drunk, she still remembers not to hit John.” Leon cast a piercing glance at Wynn, making him stutter in fear.
He couldn’t help but feel that Wynn might be right though.
Why else would she hit everyone else but leave John alone?
Wynn continued, “Maybe this means that Nina…”
“That’s enough.” Leon stood up and patted his clothes, straightening them. “When she was drunk, she even hit me but she refused to hit John. It must mean that John is far more important to her,” Leon said in a huff. “Buy the tickets. We’ll leave tomorrow.”
Wynn scratched his head. “Okay.”
While walking out, Leon saw Michelle nodding off over the table. Her pink face was as rosy as the evening glow.
Leon stopped, put the girl on the bed, covered her with the quilt and said softly, “Michelle, I am leaving tomorrow.”
Leon was about to leave, but Michelle grabbed his finger and smacked her lips.
Michelle’s fingers were a little chubby, but they were so soft and warm. Leon sat back on the edge of the bed and teased Michelle, “Don’t you want me to leave?”
Michelle smacked her lips again and said, “No, I don’t.”
“Good girl.” Leon pulled his finger from her tight grip and brushed her hair aside.
As soon as his palm touched her forehead, Michelle grabbed his arm and whispered, “Strawberry cake…”
“Strawberry cake?” Leon was bemused. Then he remembered something Michelle said recently. She said that she had dreamed of eating him like a strawberry cake.
‘Damn it!’
Leon came to his senses and was about to pull his hand back.
He should have been quicker because now it was too late.
“Ouch…” Michelle opened her mouth and plunged her teeth into Leon’s arm, biting him through his shirt.
“Ah!” Leon cried out. He frowned and felt a stinging radiating from his arm.
Hearing the noise, Wynn pushed the door open and asked, “Leon, what’s wrong?” “Umm… nothing.” Leon shook his head and pulled his arm away from this little animal.
There was blood on his shirt.
Wynn rolled up Leon’s sleeve and said, “It’s bleeding.” Wynn took a look at Michelle, who was still smacking her lips, and couldn’t help but cower. “Why are her teeth so sharp?”
“Alas…” Leon sighed. “You ungrateful girl.”
“Let’s leave her alone. I’ll deal with your wounds.” Wynn and Leon marched out, closing the door behind them.
Michelle turned over, murmuring “Leon” and “strawberry cake.”
She kept dreaming.
Wynn took the first-aid kit and began to wrap the wounds up. “She’s like a little vampire. How could she bite you like that?”
Looking at the bite marks on his right arm, Leon smiled and said, “At least she bit them neatly.”
Wynn raised his head to look at Leon and stared at him, speechless.
“Her teeth are quite neat in all honesty and she has adorable canines.” Leon smiled again.
Wynn started getting very concerned. Nina must have driven Leon crazy.
“Are you out of your mind? Do you like getting hurt?”
“No.” Leon withdrew his hand looked at the wounds. “I’m just making an observation.”
Wynn grabbed Leon’s arm back and continued to disinfect and apply medicine to it. “Maybe you should make these bite marks into a tattoo.”
Leon paused for a moment and said,
“That’s a good idea.”
Wynn once again fell into a stunned silence. His hands trembled as he raised his head to look at Leon and asked, “Did Nina really drive you to insanity?”
Leon took back his arm and asked, “What do you mean? Nina is my sister and she will always be even if she is married to John. John doesn’t hold a higher position than me, does he?”
“Of course not. You are the prince of C Island, and her brother,” Wynn assured Leon while packing up the medical kit. Finally they decided to leave.
North Yard looked like it was abandoned compared to recent times.
Only John and Nina arrived by themselves.
Everyone else was in the hospital right now.
“Woof…” Nine, using his keen nose, smelled them in the yard and sprinted outside to welcome them.
Chester nonchalantly followed Nine out. “Uncle John, Aunt Nina, you’re back!” His eyes widened in surprise.
‘Uncle John really managed to get Aunt Nina home.’
“Shh! She is asleep.” John frantically tried to quieten Chester down to avoid waking Nina up. He ignored how excited Nine was to see Nina, and forgot to get him to keep quiet as well.
Nine jumped and barked excitedly, “Woof, woof…”
John bellowed, “Nine!”
Chester immediately walked over, squatted down, held Nine’s head and whispered in his ear, “Nine, shh! Aunt Nina is asleep.” Let’s not disturb her and let her sleep, okay?”
It had been so long since Nina saw her dog. Just hearing his bark was enough for her to wake up and look around for her pet in a daze.
“Nine, Nine…”
“Woof, woof…” Nine ran behind John and kept jumping, trying to play with Nina.
Nina was nowhere near sober enough to know what was happening. She giggled and reached out to touch Nine. She wriggled and tried to get off John. John couldn’t let her go. Instead, he said to Chester, “Chester, go to bed.”
He was worried that Nina might have another outburst later and attack Chester.
“Okay.” As Chester turned around, Nina stopped him.
“Chester? You haven’t gone to sleep yet?” Like a slippery little eel, Nina slid out of John’s clutches.
She walked over to Chester and bent down to touch his head.
John squinted his steely eyes and waited to see what terror Nina might bring. He heard Nina’s gentle voice say, “Chester, it’s so late. You should go to bed.”
Her voice was soft and sweet like a mother talking to her child.
“Okay, I’m going to bed now,” said Chester with a smile, showing off his beaming white teeth.
“Good boy.” Nina ruffled Chester’s hair, making it look like a messy nest.
He wasn’t bothered. He turned around and happily went to bed.
After watching him leave, John looked back at the drunk Nina with his eagle-eyed gaze.
“Honey, why didn’t you hit Chester?” John’s illusion that he was the only special one was shattered.
Nina was confused, slowly blinking her heavy eyelids. “Why would I hit him? He didn’t do anything wrong or hurt me.”
John was speechless.
None of Richard, Amy and Lena did anything wrong. Why did she hit them? Feeling a little hard done by, John picked Nina up and took her to the bedroom. Nina was too exhausted to even react. She flopped over his shoulder like a lifeless body.
Being put on the bed, Nina still had no idea what was happening. “Hmm?” “What? Go to sleep.” John turned around and went to the closet to get her pajamas. “Must I help you change or can you do it yourself?”
Nina mumbled, “Hmm?”
John found it amusing, but he stopped himself from smiling and asked, “Are you so sleepy?”
“Yes.” Nina nodded.
John changed her himself. He felt like he was taking care of a child.
This was his little girl after all.
“Well, let’s go to wash our faces.” John reached out to hug her.
Nina felt so weak and drained. She pouted and nodded, “Hmm.”
John knew that she was drunk right now, but he was still a little angry when she gave one-word replies.
Although she was drunk, Nina was still sensitive. She knew he was angry and immediately looked up at him with her big eyes.
“Do you not like how I’m replying?”
“No, I don’t.”
‘I’m afraid that sometimes I don’t know what is on your mind and I can’t give you what you want.’
John pinched her face dotingly. He loved her so much. The soft feel of her skin was enough to make him never want to let go.
Nina pouted and said, “But when I say ‘hmm,’ ‘mmm,’ and ‘yes’ together, you won’t be able to stand it.”
Just like that, John was stunned.
His mind went completely blank.
His eyes froze open and his throat dried up.
