MY UNKNOWN HUSBAND, VOLUME 2 - Season 3 Episode 92
Hearing the noise from the front door, Michelle sneaked out of the kitchen with a pancake turner in her hand.
“Nini? Leon?” Michelle walked out, wearing an apron with rabbit pattern. “Nini, Leon, why are you here?” she asked with a smile.
“I’m here for a midnight snack.” Nina smiled. “Mimi, make more food, please.”
“Okay, okay. It’ll be a minute.” Michelle nodded and turned to go back in the kitchen.
Leon, meanwhile, spent his time checking out the decor. There were rabbits everywhere. Rabbit figurines, rabbit posters, rabbit coasters. Almost anything you could think of was rabbit-themed.
“Since when have you been into rabbits? I thought you liked the elk on the island.”
“Mimi likes rabbits. She’s like a rabbit herself.” Nina walked to the sofa and sat down.
Leon also sat down and craned his neck to see into the kitchen. A pleasant scent reached his nose.
He sniffed and said, “She’s making spaghetti.”
“How do you know that?” Nina was shocked, but she calmed down again. “That’s right. I keep forgetting you’re a foodie.”
And he was right—Michelle was whipping up a pot of spaghetti. The tomato and mushroom sauce was done, the saucepan set to simmer. The next step was the noodles.
While cooking, she cut the onion, red pepper, and broccoli, dropping them into another pot. She boiled them for a while, and then tossed the shrimp in as well.
She took the spaghetti noodles from the package and boiled them. The kitchen was now a cornucopia of smells and bubbling sounds. It was also getting quite hot in there.
In the frying pan, she added the pepper, onion, and shrimp, and next came the tomato and mushroom sauce. The meal was finally looking and smell like one tasty dish.
It was finally done. While she worked, she had the radio on, and danced around from one burner to the next.
She plated her creation and called Nina in.
“It’s done, Nini. Can you help me?” Michelle leaned against the doorframe and beamed at Nina.
“Okay.” Nina was about to stand up.
Leon took a step ahead of her and said, “Let me do it. Just sit here and I’ll serve you this time around.”
“Okay.” Of course, Nina wanted to be closer to the food, so she stood up and went to the table.
Leon walked into the kitchen and saw three plates of tomato and shrimp spaghetti on the table. The food was arranged artistically on the plate.
“Michelle, I’m here to help. Put me to work.” Leon walked over and grabbed a plate, holding it in one hand.
Michelle held another plate and said, “Thanks, Leon. Let’s rock.”
Michelle sat next to Nina, and Leon sat opposite them.
“Nini, you eat first.” Michelle pushed the plate in front of her towards Nina. Every time Michelle cooked and brought delicious food, she would share it with Nina.
“I haven’t had a meal cooked by you in I don’t know how long,” Nina said, mouthwatering. With a smile, Nina took the fork and turned it over and over, wrapping the tines with spaghetti. Then she popped it in her mouth.
Michelle blinked and asked, “What do you think? Is it good?”
“It’s amazing. Thanks.” Nina nodded and thumbed up, praising Michelle. “Mimi, your cooking skills are getting better and better.”
Every time Nina praised her, Michelle would be in a great mood. “Next time you’ve got a craving for my cooking, just call me over. I’ll only cook for you.”
“Okay.” Nina smiled and winked at her. Michelle smiled again.
The two of them always got along like this. The two of them were used to it, but Leon was taken aback.
This was a smile that Nina had never showed him before. Even John couldn’t bring this special smile from her heart to the surface.
When he thought about, Leon was happy that she’d found such joy. Then he looked at Michelle. He didn’t expect that Michelle would give her share to his sister first.
He was both surprised and grateful.
“Here, Michelle, try this.” Leon put one of them in front of Michelle and set the fork on the table for her.
“Thank you, Leon.” Michelle picked up the fork and was about to eat.
Leon sat down and had a taste himself. The sauce was scrumptious, and the spaghetti was just right. Michelle was an awesome cook.
Michelle threw all her heart into whatever she did. This was proof.

That’s why a home cooked meal is always the tastiest.
People always pay special attention to the dishes they cook for their families. “Michelle, your tomato and shrimp spaghetti is nom!” Leon praised Michelle sincerely.
Nina raised her eyes and thought, ‘I thought he was picky.
But he likes her cooking?
I guess it’s not surprising. She’s a great cook.’
“Thank you, Leon.” Hearing him rave about it, Michelle felt like she was on cloud nine.
Leon smiled faintly and found that Michelle really liked to say thank you.
“You’re welcome. Just think of me as your brother.”
“Okay.” Michelle nodded obediently. The three of them finished the meal happily.
“Okay, hopefully there was enough. Be right back. I need to wash the dishes.” Michelle began to clear the table.
Leon took the plates from Michelle’s hands and said, “Your hands aren’t used to this. Let me wash them.”
“Eh?” Michelle was confused. “But when I was at home, Dad or Mom cooked, and I was responsible for washing the dishes. We traded jobs sometimes. If I cooked, they’d wash the dishes.”
“You just made spaghetti. Now I’m washing the dishes. Just like at home.” Leon thought Michelle was really ditzy sometimes.
“Sounds good.” Michelle nodded. “Thank you, Leon.”
“I’ve told you before—you don’t need to thank me! I am also your brother.” Leon picked up the dishes and walked into the kitchen.
Nina looked at her brother in disbelief. ‘Why would he volunteer to wash the dishes?
That’s not like him. What’s going on?’
Nina thought he was acting strangely. He never praised anyone’s cooking skills. He never touched anything that had been eaten from. Not plates, bowls, chopsticks, or any of that. He seemed kind of germophobic, when she thought about it. And he certainly never spent any time in the kitchen. He never did the dishes.
“So weird!” Nina closed her eyes and opened them again.
The sound of water splashing and the clacking of plates and forks issued forth from the kitchen.
So Nina wasn’t imagining things.
But… the sounds seemed a little loud sometimes.
“Mimi, do you want to see what’s going on?” Nina suspected that everything wasn’t as it seemed.
“Okay.” Michelle stood up and went to the kitchen, only to find that Leon had broken two plates.
“Leon…”
“Michelle? Why are you here?” Leon placed the dishes in the sink carefully. He turned to face her, and said apologetically, “I didn’t know that plates broke that easily.”
Michelle bit her lip and got confused again.
“It’s easy to break a plate like that. What kind of plates do you use, normally?” “Not porcelain ones.” ‘We eat off gold plates,’ he added in his head.
“What?” ‘They’re so poor.
They don’t even have porcelain plates.’ The expression in Michelle’s eyes changed. It was almost a look of pity. She pitied him.
“What’s wrong?” Leon asked suspiciously.
Michelle shook her head. “It’s nothing.” She smiled again, pure and sincere. “Leon, let me wash them.”
Leon looked again, but the only expression she had was a wonderful smile. Had he imagined the look of pity?
“Probably a better idea,” he said, sheepishly. “You wash, I’ll watch.” Leon stood aside and let Michelle at the sink. It was just a simple thing, but Leon watched her with interest.
However, Leon didn’t know that John had found out who Nina really was, and made his way to her apartment as they spoke.
