Daniel wore a scowl on his face as he leaned over to Chester’s ear. “Contact your uncle John.”

He glanced around the area. It felt strange to see that John was nowhere to be found.

Nina was here, but John wasn’t with her.
“Hello, Uncle John, where are you? Aunt Nina is going to be taken away,” Chester said through the phone.

“I know.” John clenched his teeth and tried to control his anger.

He then hung up the phone and glared at Adrian who was guarding the door with his life.

“Fuck off,” John said through gritted teeth.

“No way,” Adrian answered firmly. His back was faced to John as he shook his head while trying his best to block the doorknob. “You’ve managed to wait for a while now. Try to hold on a little longer.”

John threw the cigarette between his fingers to the floor and crushed it with his shoe. “My wife is leaving.”

“She won’t.” Adrian shook his head. “She loves you. She won’t leave her brother. Besides, they can’t fly back to C Island tonight.”

“Get out of my way!” John growled. He had already lost his patience. He grabbed Adrian by the collar and threw him away from the door.

Adrian clung onto John’s legs as soon as he took hold of the doorknob. “Mr. Shi, please don’t make this difficult for me. You absolutely cannot go out right now. If you do, it will be over for me. Please save me.”

“Who would save me, then?”

John asked. If Nina left, who would be the one to save him?

John tried to shake Adrian off, but the man stuck to him like glue.

No matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t seem to get rid of him.

Adrian, on the other hand, held onto John as tightly as he could. He knew that he had to think fast. He couldn’t offend either of the two people, so he needed to come up with an idea.

“Mr. Shi, it will only be useless to chase after them if they really want to leave. I suggest that you should coordinate with the airlines and bus stations to prevent them from leaving tonight.”

John showed no sympathy over Adrian. He grabbed a chair that was next to him and raised it above his head. “Let go of me.”

Adrian stared at the chair above his head and gulped.

To be honest, it would be fine with him if he died. He actually was even more afraid of surviving the hit. If John smashed him with the chair and he didn’t die, he would live the remaining days of his life being miserable.

Adrian let out a deep sigh. He felt hopeless.

He originally thought that John would be able to make Nina less violent. It turned out to be the other way around.

John had never been this violent before.

“Well, I…” Adrian stammered. “How about you give me two punches so that I can say that I have tried my best to stop you?” This was the best idea he could come up with.

John blinked a few times before slowly lowering the chair to the floor.

Adrian loosened his grip in an instant. Then, he stood up and straightened his wrinkled collar. “Let me just prepare for it, then…”

A large knuckle suddenly hit his face.

John wasted no time and punched Adrian.

The man fell backwards and hit the chair before crashing to the floor.

The impact was so strong that Adrian fell backwards with hands and legs in the air.

He placed a hand over to the spot where he took a blow and winced. “Mr. Shi,

couldn’t you have given me some time to mentally prepare for it?”

Adrian could taste the blood from his mouth. When he started to speak, blood started pouring from the corner of his lips.

He stared up at the ceiling and took deep breaths. The pain continued to throb and it was becoming unbearable.

He didn’t think that John could be this cruel.

Adrian tried to massage his face once again. He screamed in pain and finally got up from the floor.

“I think one punch is already enough.” When Adrian raised his head, John was already nowhere to be found. “Mr. Shi, wait!”

The sound of footsteps rushing down the stairway echoed through the area.

Nina was about to follow her brother out of the hotel when she heard her husband’s name.

She turned her head around and saw John coming towards her.

His hair was a little messy and he seemed to be in a hurry. The look on his face told Nina that he was angry.

“Honey…” Nina murmured and pulled her hand away from her brother’s.

John was angry since he thought that Nina could leave anytime she wished regardless of his feelings.

However, when he heard the word “honey” coming out from her mouth, his eyes had gradually softened.

“Honey, come here.” John marched towards her and gestured for her to come near him.

Nina hadn’t seen John all day. Since her brother had confiscated her cellphone, she couldn’t contact him either.

She really missed him.

She missed him so much that she had almost mistaken Noah for him when she sprained her ankle.

Now that she saw John, she was very happy.

Her handsome husband was now standing in front of her.

Nina immediately rushed over to John and leaped into his arms.

John’s smile was gentle and full of affection as he bent over to catch his wife.

“Good evening, honey.” Nina wrapped her arms around his neck and snuggled at him.

John held onto her tightly. Finally, his wife was back in his arms.

“Good evening, honey,” he said in return. John loosened his hold and rested his hands gently on Nina’s waist.

The hall became silent. Everyone was staring at them.

John and Nina just displayed their love in front of many people.

This made every single person in the room swoon.

Just then, Adrian came stumbling towards them. He was panting so hard and tried to catch his breath for a few seconds when he looked up to see the two people holding each other. John was extremely tall which made Nina look thinner and smaller.

“Oh my God…” Adrian exclaimed as he continued to catch his breath.

When glanced to the side, he saw Leon’s murderous glare.

His eyes were as sharp as John’s.

The two people he knew who could possibly kill with one look were going to be a family. Adrian took in a deep breath. He didn’t know what he did in his past life to deserve this.

If he wasn’t able to give Leon a valid explanation, it was possible that he wouldn’t have any future to look forward to.

“Mr. Lu, I’ve tried my best to stop him. Look at the wound on my face, even my mouth is bleeding.” Adrian showed Nina’s brother his swollen face. There was indeed a big bruise by the corner of his mouth with blood.

It really did look horrible and painful.

John had put a lot of strength on that punch.

When Adrian moved his mouth a little bit, he felt a loose tooth.

Leon only sighed and looked over to the couple snuggling up with each other. Stopping the others would be useless anyway if he couldn’t stop his own sister.

However, he still didn’t want his sister to be wronged. “You have already met and hugged each other. Let’s go, Nini.”

“Okay,” Nina murmured. She reluctantly released John from her embrace.

John knew that he couldn’t go against his brother-in-law. He also released Nina but still held her wrist. He did not want to let her go.

As soon as Nina turned around, she was pulled into John’s arms.

“She is my wife now. She will go home with me tonight.” If John couldn’t hold Nina in his arms, he wouldn’t be able to fall asleep.

John didn’t sleep last night. It was a good thing that Nina was able to accompany him during the day so he was able to sleep for a while. If not for that, he would be definitely sleepy at the moment.

Leon’s eyes were filled with jealousy as he stared at John. “She’s my sister, not your wife.”

“I have proof,” John said calmly. He had one hand holding Nina’s waist while he used the other to take out the marriage license from his pocket.

Nina was speechless.

John carried the marriage license with him again.

Several gasps and murmurs erupted around them.

“Mr. Shi carried the marriage license with him?” Some were in awe while the others were a bit surprised.
