- MY UNKNOWN HUSBAND, VOLUME 2
- Season 3 Episode 63 - (The Princess of C island)
John was currently in Time Group.
After getting off from work, he was going to the dinner party arranged by Nina to welcome Michelle.
However, the moment he was about to head for the door, Amy and Lena came in.
Nina wasn’t with them.
“Please punish us, Mr. Shi. We failed to stop Mrs. Shi from leaving.” Amy and Lena bowed their heads and apologized.
“Where did she go?” John asked. Since they weren’t able to stop her, it meant that Nina left on her own accord.
She wasn’t kidnapped, so it wasn’t supposed to be a big deal.
John frowned at the thought. What if something happened when no one followed her?
He glanced at the two women who still had their heads bowed down. “Why didn’t you follow her?”
Amy bit her lip. “Mrs. Shi left with a man. He didn’t allow us to…”
“A man?” The atmosphere suddenly became tense as John’s eyes narrowed.
“It’s not like that,” Lena said. “Mrs. Shi left with her brother, Mr. Lu. We tried to follow them but we were stopped by his man.”
John blinked a few times while he tried to process the new piece of information. “Who?” His eyes gradually softened and understanding dawned upon him. He recalled Nina mentioning her brother in her sleep.
So, it was true that Nina did have a brother.
Why did her brother suddenly appear now?
“Mr. Lu looks exactly like Mrs. Shi. She told us that she wouldn’t be coming back tonight and that you don’t have to worry about her,” Lena said.
“I don’t have to worry?” John scoffed. It was impossible not to worry about her. Even though Leon was Nina’s brother, he was a man.
John didn’t like it that Nina was staying with a man.
“Give Henry the plate number of her brother’s car and ask him to investigate it immediately,” John ordered.
“Yes, sir.” Lena scurried away to look for Henry.
“Mr. Shi, Mrs. Shi said she won’t be coming back to North Yard tonight, but her brother said that she won’t be coming back anytime soon.” Even if this would have angered John, Amy thought that it was better to let him know rather than hiding it from him.
“Mr. Lu also said that the Lu family wouldn’t recognize you as Mrs. Shi’s husband.” Amy’s words almost came out as a whisper.
John clenched his teeth and his eyes were filled with anger.
He didn’t care if Nina’s family didn’t recognize him.
They were already legally married.
“The Lu family? The Lu family in Spring City?” His grip on the pen tightened. Based on the investigation he had done, the Lu family in Spring City didn’t have a daughter. He had a deep scowl on his face as he tried to figure our Nina’s true identity.
Suddenly, he thought of something. Was Nina perhaps an illegitimate daughter?
He shrugged it off. It didn’t matter since she was his wife now.
Amy, on the other hand, looked as clueless as John and only shook her head at him.
Henry finally entered the office. John’s eyes followed the man as he patiently waited for some new information.
Henry’s expression looked somewhat troubled.
“John, Mr. Lu’s vehicle is a car from LC Hotel. They checked in the presidential suite and the alias they used to book the room was named Wynn Luo.
This Wynn Luo’s information is as short as Mrs. Shi’s. It was all fixed and planned out. I cannot find anything else about them.” Then, he handed over the piece of paper in his hand.
The paper only contained two lines. Even the basic information of the person was incomplete.
It was another weird document and another mysterious person.
John’s eyebrows furrowed as he stared at the document. He knew that he shouldn’t make any rash actions.
If the Lu family didn’t want to recognize John as Nina’s husband, it must have meant that Leon wasn’t any ordinary person. The man wouldn’t so much as dare to challenge John openly otherwise.
John had finally decided. He needed to find out who Nina really was once and for all.
He let out a deep sigh and stared at the ceiling of his office. He knew exactly the person who would be able to help him.
“Henry, call my father and ask him about my wife’s identity.” John’s intuition told him that the old man must have known something.
Maybe even more than he expected. Henry nodded obediently. He immediately made a call to Sam. The housekeeper picked up the phone. “Henry, how may I help you?”
“Can you connect me with Mr. Sam Shi? Mr. John Shi wants to know more about his wife’s identity and background. She was taken away today by the Lu family,” Henry explained.
As soon as Jake heard about Nina taken away by the Lu family, he became nervous. “Please wait for a moment.”
When Jake informed Sam about the current situation, one could tell that the old man became nervous as well. “Who did the Lu family send to take Nina away?”
“Mrs. Lu’s brother,” Henry answered.
Sam’s heart skipped a beat. The day finally came.
“Henry, don’t let them take her away. If they do, I will have no daughter-in-law. Nina is the princess of C Island, and her brother is…”

Henry’s mobile phone dropped to the floor. The screen was still on and Sam’s forceful warning came through.
“Henry, did you hear that? Don’t let the people of C Island take her back, or I will have no daughter-in-law.”
Henry only stood there with a shocked expression. “C Island? Princess?”
Nina was the princess of C Island.
As soon as the information registered on him, his eyes widened. To say that Henry was shocked was understatement.
Now it all made sense. It was no wonder that no one could find any information about Nina.
The international hacker Elk, the princess of C Island…
How could they possibly investigate on this?
Henry was frozen for a few seconds before he finally snapped out of it and picked up the phone. “Understood, Mr. Shi. I’ll inform Mr. John Shi about this first.”
“You must stop them,” Sam repeated for the last time.
“Yes, sir.” Then, he finally hung up the phone.
Henry quickly turned to his computer and started to become busy typing. He tried to look for more information about C Island on the web, especially about the princess.
The moment he landed on C Island’s website, the news of their princess’s 18th birthday ceremony appeared.
Right on the screen was a girl who sat in a white carriage. She wore a very luxurious gown and a crown was placed on top of her head. Her bright eyes and pearly white teeth showed in front of the camera.
Her features were even more enhanced with the makeup she was wearing. The face on the photo belonged to none other than Nina.
“Oh my god…”
Henry’s legs went limp and he fell to the floor. It was a good thing no one was around and he quickly got up on his knees.
His hands were trembling in shock while he printed out the information.
He ended up printing a thick pile of documents. All of them held information about the princess of C Island.
Nina was excellent in a lot of things, including piano, chess, calligraphy, etc. She could even compose and perform military exercises.
She was the most honorable princess in C Island.
Nina’s father was the king of C Island, and her mother, Anne, was also a famous international actress. She had a very powerful and complicated family background.
Leon was a politician and a businessman. Most of the enterprises in C Island were under the jurisdiction of the royal family. All of them were under Leon’s name and he was in charge of everything.
C Island was in fact the richest island in the world.
Nina was a direct descendant of the royal family. She was born with a silver spoon in her mouth.
“Mr. Shi, your wife…” Henry’s voice faltered. He didn’t know how to break the news to his boss, so he ended up handing over the documents to John. “I think it would be better if you read them yourself.”
He didn’t know if he could tell him the news properly.
Deep inside, however, Henry thought that John definitely had good taste. After all, he married the princess of C Island. John’s brows furrowed at Henry’s reaction.
Seeing how Henry hesitated, he couldn’t help but become suspicious.
Was his wife still human?
John leaned comfortably against his soft chair and lazily flipped the pages of the documents with his slender hand.
His eyes darted back and forth the contents of the document, and after a while, his eyes narrowed.
John tried to process the words that he was reading. “Nina Lu, the princess of C Island…”
As soon as realization hit him, John tensed up. He stared with wide eyes at the photo of Nina in the carriage from what Henry had seen earlier.
John blinked for a couple of times and never took his eyes off the paper in his hand.
He kept on replaying the words he had read. Nina was the princess of C Island.
John was at a loss for words.
Perhaps the chair had been so slippery that John slipped from his chair and fell to the floor.
He landed on his butt with a loud thud.
The recent piece of information had blown him away.
“Mr. Shi!” Henry tried to reach out but he failed to catch him on time.
Even Richard wasn’t able to help John.
He looked petrified and couldn’t even move a muscle.
Richard had seen the information as well and it left him shocked.
Nina was the princess of C Island.
