- MY UNKNOWN HUSBAND, VOLUME 2
- Season 3 Episode 49 - (The kitchen was in a mess)
Books scattered all over the floor inside the study and passionate moans could be heard.
Nina had never felt that way before.
It was completely different from when the domineering John dragged her back to North Yard last time after discovering about their relationship.
His actions were filled with tenderness this time.
Sometimes, it felt like she was in the clouds.
Sometimes, it felt like they were chasing each other.
Both were secretly competing and didn’t want to lose.
John pressed his lips gently on Nina’s forehead which was now full of sweat.
After they were done, Nina snuggled in his arms and closed her eyes.
It didn’t take long for her breathing to become even. John, on the other hand, was wide awake. Since he didn’t feel sleepy at all, he carefully pulled his arm away and got out of bed as quiet as he could.
He took a shower and changed into a clean set of clothes. As he stood by the window, the sunlight crept inside and coated his body with a layer of its golden rays.
Nina opened her eyes groggily at the sound of the water running and saw John.
A small smile formed on her lips. It felt like she was dreaming of him again.
The man she was willing to submit to.
John seemed to have felt his wife’s gentle gaze. He turned around to see her eyes closed, but the smile remained hanging from the corners of her mouth. A smirk formed on his own lips and he couldn’t help but think of what she had been dreaming of.
It was already noon time when John quietly left the bedroom.
Since the servants were aware that John was already in good health, no one dared to enter the main building of North Yard last night.
John’s footsteps echoed throughout the hall. The curtains around him automatically opened and the thin sunlight crawled on the floor. Everything was silent.
Then, the door finally opened.
Standing outside were Helen and the others. They were currently waiting for John to personally open the door for them. No one dared to go inside without permission.
“Mr. Shi, I’m going to prepare food now,” Helen said.
John’s eyes darted towards the direction of the kitchen. “The kitchen is a little messy, make sure to clean it up.”
“Okay,” she answered. Helen was experienced and knew everything.
However, her expression morphed into horror the moment she stepped inside the kitchen.
Her face couldn’t contain the shock on what welcomed her.
The kitchen was a mess. Eggs had been splattered across the kitchen table, and the shells were scattered on the floor.
The fridge’s door was open, and its contents were sprawled on the floor. Helen let out a deep sigh. Did the two of them make supper? Had they been fighting instead? She shook her head in dismay.
She had no choice but to start cleaning up the kitchen and ask Amy for some help.
Lena and Richard, on the other hand, had been asked to do other tasks.
“Clean up the study,” John ordered. He glanced over at the door to the study and couldn’t hide the mischievous smile that appeared on his face.
“Yes, sir,” they answered obediently. All the books were scattered on the floor.
The mess in the main building made people think about what really happened to Nina and John last night.
Lena couldn’t help but blush at the thought. “Mr. Shi is too…”
Richard only had a calm expression on his face. It was as if he had already expected a scene like this to happen. He reached for the books on the floor and picked them up. Then, he started to return them to their original positions.
However, some books seemed to be already worn out.
Lena ended up sorting out the worn out books and would buy a batch of new books later.
Everyone was busy at North Yard while Chester sat on the swing in the garden.
The wind blew through his face as he turned the pages of the book in his hand.

Nine lay at Chester’s feet. Its ears were down, and it seemed to have fallen asleep.
Chester continued to absent-mindedly turn the pages of the book. “Nine, will I no longer be the youngest in our family? Do you think Aunt Nina will have a baby?
I don’t care whether it is a boy or a girl. I will definitely protect them in the future.” Chester felt a little lonely and always wanted a playmate.
He grew up with many restrictions. He was studying most of the time.
Being at North Yard was the happiest day for him since he got to relax and enjoy himself.
Suddenly, an enthusiastic bark could be heard. Nine opened its eyes when it heard Chester speaking. Then, it happily jumped on his lap.
Chester gently patted the dog on the head. “Do you also want Aunt Nina to have a baby?”
The dog barked again. It was pretty obvious that Nine wanted a baby to play with.
Chester and Nine ended up having a good time playing around.
After a while, a servant came to the garden and informed Chester that lunch was now being served.
When everyone seemed to have settled down at the dining table, Chester glanced around.
His brows furrowed in curiosity when he didn’t see Nina. “Uncle John, isn’t Aunt Nina joining us?”
“She’s already full and is currently still sleeping,” John answered.
Chester looked at the dishes on the table, he found that no one had touched them at all. Besides, John and Nina had just woken up. How could she be full? He finally came to a conclusion that Nina was on a diet.
Not bothering to ask more questions, he reached out for the food and started to dig in.
After lunch, John remembered that Nina had afternoon classes. “Chester, how do you feel about going to class with your aunt Nina?”
Chester’s eyes lit up. “I met Professor Gu, the most powerful man in criminal psychology.” His eyes continued to gleam. “The subject of criminal psychology is very interesting.”
“You are going to B University in September,” John said.
He knew that no one in the Shi family would agree to Chester learning criminal psychology.
Just like him, this was something Chester couldn’t choose. Among the younger generation in the Shi family, Chester was the most suitable heir to the family business.
“I see,” Chester murmured. The light in his eyes a moment ago was extinguished.
“Your aunt Nina needs a rest this afternoon. Would you like to go to class in her stead?” This was actually John’s ulterior motive.
Nina had been exhausted all night. Now that she had finally fallen asleep, he didn’t want her to attend her afternoon class.
Chester went to the class with Nina for almost a week. Even her teachers knew him, so it was only reasonable for Chester to substitute for her in her class.
“Okay, can I take Nine with me?” Chester beamed.
“Okay.” John glanced over to the dog and thought that it was best that Chester took it with him so that he and Nina wouldn’t be disturbed.
John originally brought Nine back for two reasons. One was to frighten Nina, and the other was to make it keep an eye on her.
He didn’t expect that the dog would end up destroying his romantic moments with his wife.
The dog barked at John. Nine felt that John despised him.
Chester only thought that he needed to only attend a day’s class for Nina. However, he ended up returning to L University on the second day and listened to the lectures for the whole day.
Nina used to accompany Chester before which was why he was willing to attend her classes back then.
Since she was not with him at the moment, he found himself in low spirits the whole day.
Jason appeared, and it was only when Chester saw him that he finally came to his senses. He decided to walk over to him with Nine.

However, before he was even able to get close to Jason, he saw his aunt slapping his uncle in the middle of the crowded campus.
The loud sound of a palm hitting flesh echoed throughout the area.
“Jason, you lied to me!” Jessica’s cold eyes pierced through the man in front of her as she continued to criticize him. She didn’t care about the palm print that was starting to appear on his face.
“I’ve checked your schedule. You only have four classes every day, and you haven’t been to Fu Group for a week. The documents on your desk are almost piled up!”
