MY UNKNOWN HUSBAND, VOLUME 2 - Season 3 Episode 42
Nelson and his wife watched Chester for a while and then hurried to catch the plane, leaving Chester behind.
As expected, Chester was very obedient. He didn’t disturb Nina or John. He simply sat on the sofa and paged through a book he had taken from his schoolbag. It was Yuval Noah Harari’s book, called “Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind.”
The author, Yuval Noah Harari, earned his doctorate in history from the University of Oxford. He was a professor of history at Bar-Ilan University in Jerusalem. With the publication of his book, he became renowned as an expert in history.
If many history books were written from a bird’s-eye view of the world, the world was the world as viewed from a satellite.
Nina was surprised. A ten-year-old child was reading “Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind” and even making notes in the margins.
Chester lowered his head and read carefully. His profile was quite handsome. Not even adolescent yet, and he already was adorable. He would probably break quite a few hearts before he settled down.
Nina saw a lot of John in Chester, at least physically.
These two people looked very much alike.
Nina couldn’t help staring at Chester for a long time, trying to find some shadow of John’s childhood.
Seeing that Nina was daydreaming, staring at Chester blankly, John called out to her. “Honey, come here.”
John patted the seat beside the bed and motioned for her to sit down.
After Nina was sitting comfortably next to him, John bit her ear and said, “After we get back to North Yard, let’s have a kid of our own.”
The burning breath reddened Nina’s earlobe. She moved her head away and glared at him. “Be a little more discrete, will you? Chester’s here.”
Nina was only ten years older than Chester. But ever since she took up with John, she felt like she was getting old.
Because Chester had referred to her as “Aunt Nina.”
“Does Chester have school today?” she asked, trying to change the subject. Nina had natural maternal instincts. She worried about kids even if she weren’t a mom.
John can’t help laughing. “It’s Sunday today.”
“Does he go tomorrow? I can drive him to school in the morning.” Nina blinked her eyes, looking expectant.
John whispered in her ear again, “Why do you want a kid so bad? Doesn’t matter, I guess. After we get back to North Yard, we’ll try for a baby day and night.”
Day and night?
Nina’s heart skipped a beat. She felt hot down there, from just the simple words.
Truth be told, she kind of looked forward to making love.
She had to take a moment to compose herself. “You’re so naughty!” Nina stood up calmly and walked over to Chester. But her red ears betrayed her.
John narrowed his long, narrow eyes and moved his hips a bit. It looked like he had almost recovered.
“What are you reading, Chester?” Without any experience in dealing with children, Nina slowly walked over and sat down when she found that Chester wasn’t ignoring her. He was just absorbed in his book.
Chester handed the book to her and said, “Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind. Have you read it, Aunt Nina?”
“I like reading, but I’ve only read a few novels, like Into The White Night and The Devotion of Suspect X. Sapiens is something I pick up every once in a while, but I have to be in the mood.” Nina just smiled and nodded.
Her smile was like thousands of flowers blooming at the same time, and Chester blushed again.
Her smile was so beautiful.
He had to work harder to learn from John. He had to find a girl as awesome as Nina.
Chester was daydreaming. He shook his head and finally looked like a child.
“Aunt Nina, can you drive me to school tomorrow?” Chester overheard what John and Nina were discussing.
Nina’s eyes lit up. “Okay, I’ll drive you to school. Where is it? And when do we need to leave?”
The man on the bed narrowed his dangerous eyes and said in a quiet voice, “Chester doesn’t need to go to school. He’s just too advanced for it.”
Chester had been self-taught in college. Why did he still sit with the children in fifth grade?
Chester didn’t even bother to talk to his teachers, let alone a group of children.
“Too advanced? Isn’t he a fifth grader?” Nina didn’t know that Chester had a genius IQ.
John raised his eyebrow, “Oh? Ask him.”
John had already set things up, so Chester had to tell the truth. “They tell me I’m a genius, Aunt Nina. I don’t really need grade school. Once September comes around, Grandpa will send me to B University.”
Nina was astonished.

It was obvious he was a genius.
Lexingport City was the economic center and B City was the political center. L University and B University were the two best in the country.
Chester had a heavy responsibility.
“If you don’t go to school, what do you normally do?” Nina was indeed a little curious. Was Chester studying every day just like she was on C Island?
Chester said calmly, “Read and study.” Nina was taken aback.
It was true.
She was very busy every day on the island with full a course load—no time to play, no time to make friends.
She had always been alone.
Her only playmate was her brother.
Now she had friends and even a husband. She really didn’t have much of a childhood, and she felt sad when she thought about it.
Nina didn’t want the same thing to happen to Chester. She reached out to take the book in his hand and put it aside.
“You’re so smart. But there’s more out there than just books. Before you go to college, you need to get out to play and have fun. I’ll show you how. I’ll take you around to some colleges, too, so you can get an idea of what you’re getting into.”
Nina raised her eyebrows and laughed. It was a pure laughter, unbridled joy.
She seemed to have made up her mind.
When Nina smiled, Chester also smiled. You couldn’t see it unless you looked carefully.
“Thank you, Aunt Nina.”
In the distance, John also raised his eyebrows. His expression changed as he regarded Chester.
The iceberg of the Shi family even laughed.
His wife was so charming that no man could resist her.
She have the Shi family under her thumb.
But
John was worried about his sister’s reaction.
Sam knew that John was injured and hospitalized, and his brother and sister-in-law also came to visit him. His sister Jessica might have gotten wind of it, too.
She cared about him so much. If she knew that he got hurt trying to save Nina, his sister wouldn’t be so nice to her.
Just as John was pondering this, there was a knock on the door. Richard reported, “Mr. and Mrs. Shi, Miss Jessica Shi, Mr. Daniel Shi and their family are here.”
Speak of the devil!
Jessica pushed the door open and walked in first, Jason at her side.
Daniel’s family followed them in.
“Uncle Daniel, Aunt Angela, Aunt Jessica, James, Dora.” Chester stood up and greeted everyone politely.

Nina also stood up and nodded with a smile.
Jessica greeted them casually. She walked straight to the bedside, and the others sat on the sofa for now.
After exchanging a few pleasantries, Angela held Nina’s hand and whispered, “James told me. Did you really get hurt?”
“Don’t worry, I’m fine. John got hurt, so he’s stuck here for another week.” Nina looked in John’s direction, a worried expression on her face.
Jessica looked at John with a concerned expression. “So how did you get hurt? Is it serious?”
“No, it’s not. Can we talk about something else?” John looked fine. He seemed okay.
But Jessica knew that John wouldn’t say anything even if something did happen to him.
The more John insisted he was fine, the more worried Jessica became.
She had to find out the truth.
