MY UNKNOWN HUSBAND, VOLUME 2 - Season 3 Episode 20
Albert was constantly haunted by what he did to Kristina. Her face flashed through his mind nonstop every time he saw the side of Nina’s face.
Upon hearing what Nina said, he felt as if Kristina was rejecting him. He felt an inexplicable jealousy infesting his heart.
His Kristina hated him.
Albert explained through his trembling lips, “Kristina is not dead. She is just injured. Noah sent her abroad for treatment.”
Nina didn’t say anything. She looked at the self-deceiving man in front of her and refused to have any sympathy.
Albert knew that Nina didn’t believe him. He slowed down and said resolutely, “I asked Noah. He told me that Kristina is receiving treatment abroad. Hopefully she’ll recover soon and come back home. What had happened wasn’t my intention. It was all just an accident…”
Just thinking of their quarrel, Albert subconsciously covered his face. The guilt seemed to be so horrific that he couldn’t even bear to be seen.
He hardly ever cried because sadness wasn’t a part of his build.
Now however, tears streamed down his face. “I just couldn’t control my anger. When I saw the bracelet, I thought there was something going on between her and Mr. Shi, so I let the anger get the better of me. I hurt her but I didn’t mean it.
It was an accident.” Albert slumped to the floor, with his head in his hands. He sobbed uncontrollably like a child who had just had his candy stolen.
He felt all alone, with not a single soul able to help his restless heart.
“Accidentally hurt her?” Nina sneered. “It doesn’t matter what you did, Kristina is dead.”
“No way.” Albert raised his head with a murderous look.
No one could curse his Kristina, no one.
From the venom in his eyes, his murderous intent towards Nina shone through. He froze as soon as he looked up, seeing Kristina’s face again when he looked at Nina.
How could he bear to hurt his Kristina?
Albert suppressed his impulses, trying to calm down. If he hurt Nina, he would be too ashamed to face Kristina.
“Stop selling yourself this lie. Noah didn’t know you were the one who killed Kristina, so he lied and said that she was still alive.”
Nina looked away gloomily. “Kristina is dead.”
Albert was stunned. He knew that Nina wouldn’t lie to him. There was no reason to.
So, Kristina was really dead?
His Kristina was dead?
An endless darkness filled his black pupils with the light slowly fading away. He sat on the floor dejectedly as if the life was being drained out of him.
His tears acted as carriers, moving the sadness around, spreading the pain and filling every single pore of his body. He sat in a deathly silence, completely pale.
“You killed her and tampered with the crime scene. You wanted to make it look like a suicide, right? Didn’t you see Kristina die with your own eyes? Stop pretending.” Nina didn’t even look at Albert. If she could, she would leave right now and stay as far away from him as possible.
Isabella scolded, “Nina, what nonsense are you talking about? How could you act like this when he is clearly grieving?
Mr. Song, are you okay?” Enduring the pain of her broken knee, Isabella slowly moved over to accompany the heartbroken man.
Looking at his broken figure, Isabella’s heart ached. The thought crossed her mind that the only woman Albert had by his side, was now dead. She couldn’t help but let a sly smile out.
Even if Albert loves Kristina, I’m the only one he can be with now, surely. Kristina, you lost.
The moment you died, you lost.
I am the one who gets the last laugh.’ Immersed in pain, Albert didn’t listen to anything Nina and Isabella were saying. There was just a few words ringing in his head.
Kristina was dead.
‘It’s all my fault. Kristina died because of me.’
There was a deathly silence. Albert continued squatting on the floor, tears streaming down his face.
A couple hours had passed but nothing had changed.
Albert remained motionless.

Isabella began to get anxious. She was about to call Ford for some help when he coincidentally entered by himself.
“Ford, what should we do? Mr. Song is completely paralyzed. He’s not moving or even crying anymore. What should we do?” Isabella was essentially pleading, hurriedly, for help.
It was the first time Ford had seen his boss like this. He looked at a man who seemed to have lost the most important thing in his life. All Albert’s problems had been eclipsed by this devastating news.
“What happened to Mrs. Song?” In front of Albert, Ford always called Kristina Mrs. Song. The only person who could send Albert to such a state, was that woman.
Isabella lowered her eyes and wiped her tears, “She’s dead.”
“Dead? Isn’t she receiving treatment abroad?” Ford had the same grasp of the situation as Albert.
Isabella dodged Ford’s gaze and said, “Nina said she is dead. I don’t know what happened exactly.”
Hearing this not far away, Nina could only feel that all of them were part of this elaborate scheme.
Mr. Song,” Ford called out. “Mr. Song, Mr. Shi wants to see Ms. Lu.”
Hearing John’s name, Albert suddenly came to his senses, and a surge of hatred shocked his system.
This was all John’s fault.
If it weren’t for John, he wouldn’t have fought with Kristina.
Then Kristina would have never died.
The only way Albert could feel any better was by putting the blame on others.
He wanted nothing more than to exact revenge for Kristina.
“Lock her in the storage room.” Albert suddenly stood up, motioning for Ford and Isabella to escort Nina themselves.
Isabella followed his orders like a soldier and dragged Nina away.
The storage room was filled with all kinds of drugs and damaged equipment. The pungent stench filled the whole room. There were no windows, lights, or openings on any side. Everything was shrouded in complete darkness.
Isabella pushed Nina into the room. She peered through the doorway with a menacing smile before slamming the door shut.
“Enjoy yourself, Nina. Don’t worry, I won’t leave you alone. I’ll find you some friendly animal.”
Nina knew that Isabella wasn’t going to let her off easily but she had no idea what she planning to trap with her in the room.
There was no way in hell that Isabella was going to show Nina mercy. Nina could only imagine what animal was going to be thrown in there.
In a few minutes, the door to the storage room was opened again, revealing only a small crack. Something rushed in and swiftly hid away in the darkness.
Before she could identify the creature, she heard a rustling which sent shivers down her spine.
Nina heard Ford talking right outside the door. “What did you put inside?”
Isabella said maniacally, “A snake.”
“Just remember, if anything happens to her, Mr. Song won’t let you go.” Ford always disliked Isabella.
To be fair, she didn’t like him either. She said coldly, “The snake isn’t poisonous. I just want it to play with her for a while. She won’t die.”
Ford rolled his eyes and walked away. Isabella closed the door cutting off the last bit of light in the room.
Nina stood against the wall nervously with her hair standing on edge.
Was there really a snake in there with her?
What kind of vile woman would do this?
Nina had a phobia of snakes since she was a child.
It didn’t matter if it was poisonous or not, she always turned into a nervous wreck.
She was petrified.
