MY UNKNOWN HUSBAND, VOLUME 2 - Season 3 Episode 19
“I…I…” Isabella was in so much pain that tears started welling up in her eyes. When she saw Albert come in, she held back her tears.
She could not cry in front of the man she loved.
Albert once said that he did not like weak and incompetent people. She would not show him weakness now.
“Let go of me, Nina! Do you hear me? Let go of me!” Isabella summoned up what was left of her courage and struggled against Nina. She was able to break Nina’s grip and shove her.
With Nina falling off balance, Isabella took the opportunity to grab her arms. Her long, crimson nails sank into her skin. Nina winced in pain.
When Albert came in, he saw Nina’s side face which looked like Kristina’s.
“Kristina?” Albert was in a trance and he took Nina for Kristina. He walked quickly to her.
Albert pushed Isabella away from Nina, grabbed Nina’s hand, and pulled her behind him. Then, he strode forward and clamped his hand around Isabella’s neck.
He pressed her against the wall and choked her with one hand.
“I told you not to hurt Kristina. Do you understand me?”
Isabella’s feet slowly left the floor. She felt her lungs burn as Albert tightened his grip on her throat. Seeing the icy fury in Albert’s eyes, her eyes widened in horror.
“Albert, I… She’s not…” Isabella gasped for air. She struggled to break free from Albert’s hand as her face started turning red. Her vision had started going fuzzy. “She’s not Kris…” Isabella tried her best to tell Albert that Nina was not Kristina.
Kristina was dead.
‘Why does Albert still care about Kristina? She’s dead.
Why?’
Tears started running down Isabella’s face and onto the back of Albert’s hand.
“What are you doing? Let go of her! You’ll kill her!” Although Nina did not like Isabella, she could not just stand around and watch Albert wring the life out of her.
Nina’s voice brought Albert back. He blinked and slowly let go of Isabella. He turned his head toward Nina.
It was not Kristina that he saw after all.
“It’s you,” he murmured. He walked toward Nina and grabbed her shoulders. “But why?”
Isabella fell to the floor, gasping for air. Albert’s fingers left scarlet dents on her neck.
If Albert had exerted a little more strength and Nina had not stopped him, she would have suffocated to death.
Isabella heard what Albert said to Nina, and her face twisted in agony.
Albert still cared about Kristina.
Pure, white-hot rage flared in Isabella’s heart. It turned out that Kristina’s death did not set Albert free. If anything, it boxed him in even more, away from her grasp.
“That’s Nina,” Isabella said weakly. She kept her gaze on the floor and concentrated on filling her lungs with air. Soon, her vision cleared. She wiped her tears with the back of her hand.
Hearing Isabella’s voice, Nina breathed a sigh of relief. She was all right. She had stopped Albert in time.
Nina then looked into Albert’s eyes and said coldly, “Who did you think I was?”
Albert closed his eyes and opened them.
He took a deep breath and let go of Nina’s shoulders.
Nina patiently waited for his answer, although she already knew that he mistook her for Kristina.
She started thinking of Kristina again. She was killed by the man she loved. She must have been in so much physical and emotional pain when she was lying there and bleeding to death.
With the back of her eyes starting to sting, Nina prodded, “Did you think I was Kristina? Did you see her in me?”

But Albert still did not answer. Nina just watched his face change with different colors of distress and grief. Then, she finally choked out, “Why did you kill her?”
Albert was stunned. A murderous look flashed through his eyes, but he tried to stop thinking about hurting Nina.
He had already hurt Kristina. He could not hurt Nina. Kristina liked Nina and wanted to protect her.
Bitter tears now streamed down Nina’s face. She found it insulting that Albert would not even try to deny his crime. It angered her that the man Kristina loved would not even try to explain himself.
Before Albert could draw another breath, Nina slapped him across the face with every fiber of her being.
Albert just stood there and took the blow.
“Why would you kill someone who loved you so dearly, Albert? Why? Tell me!” Nina yelled in his face.
The corner of Albert’s mouth started bleeding. Nina really hit him hard. Seeing this, Isabella hurried over and took a look at Albert’s face.
“Albert, are you okay? Does it hurt?” Isabella whipped her head at Nina and bellowed, “Are you crazy? Why did you hit him?”
Nina said through clenched teeth, “You should be thankful I didn’t rip him apart where he’s standing.”
Albert was stunned, his eyes wide open in disbelief.
He waved Isabella away and stared Nina in the eye.
Deep in his heart, he hoped he heard Nina wrong.
“Kristina? Killed?” Once again, he grabbed Nina’s shoulders. Doubt and pain intertwined in his eyes.
“Kristina is dead?”
With an indifferent expression, Nina answered, “Yes.”
Then, she raised her hand and broke free from Albert’s grip. Nina felt that Albert’s hands were dirty because he used them to murder Kristina.
She used to think that Albert was paranoid and dark. Although he was not a kind person, at least he knew how to protect the person he loved.
She did not understand why he had to kill Kristina.
“You killed her. I don’t know exactly what happened and why, but it’s clear that you tried to cover your tracks. You made it look like she killed herself,” Nina continued.
“She had protected you since you were fourteen years old, and you repaid her kindness by taking her life. Do you even have a heart under there?”
Her words were heartbreaking.
“That’s not what happened.” Albert stepped back, looking pale and in pain. With a bitter look on her face, Nina once again felt sorry for Kristina. “Are you still unwilling to admit it?”
“It was an accident.” Albert stopped. Pain and regret weighed on his chest like an anvil. In a snap, he clasped his hand around Nina’s neck. She did not even flinch.
She just calmly grabbed Albert’s wrist and pulled it away. She shoved him back.
“An accident,” she spat. She did not believe what he said at all.
Albert seemed to snap out of a trance once again. He did not realize that he had tried to choke Nina until she was breaking free from his grip.
Kristina liked Nina. He could not hurt her.
“I’m sorry, Nina. Are you okay?” Albert hurried to check on her, his eyes full of guilt.
But Nina just waved him off and screamed at him.
“Fuck off!” Nina did not want to be touched by the person who murdered Kristina.
