In a few moments, Mo Jingshen expressionlessly backed An Shuyan into a corner.

Such a turn of events was something no one had expected, nor had prepared for. Like this, Mo Jingshen pushed them to move without realizing.

An Shuyan darkly gripped her skirt. Because Mr. Wilson was right by her side, she could not show much unhappiness. She forcefully maintained her calm and said, “I’m not feeling too well. I’ll head to the restroom.”

After finishing her words, she turned around and hurried toward the restroom.

In the end, she had just approached the hallway that led to the bathroom when she saw that it was completely dark at the end. She then saw the bodyguard that often followed Uncle Mo around. When the bodyguard turned back and caught a glimpse of her, he hinted for her to leave with his eyes.

She had known Mo Jingshen’s mind was made since the day he insisted she left after four days. There was no space for reconsideration.

Mo Jingshen’s eyes rapidly scanned through the place, the hidden depths in his eyes not revealing any of his emotions.

All of a sudden, the sound of an employee’s announcement ran through the ballroom. “Distinguished guests, our deepest apologies. Due to an electrical malfunction, the restroom on the first floor is out of order for now. Please head to the second floor or the other floors if you seek to use the restroom. The restroom on the first floor has been closed.”

It was only an employee’s announcement, and it was about the malfunctioning of a bathroom. It affected nothing in the ballroom.

An Shuyan had already returned. When she heard the announcement, she fixed her gaze on Mo Jingshen.

An Shuyan stood in front of him, yet she noticed the man’s gaze was searchingly facing that direction. His eyes were heavy, carrying a pressure that made her shiver even though she was not cold.

Mo Jingshen was this sort of man. Whenever you met him, you would always subconsciously think of a tree covered in icicles during winter. Quietly and distinctively standing in a sea of snow, he was clean, distant, and cold; you could not feel any human warmth. Yet, because he was too good looking, you could not help but feel a rush of emotions for him.

At this moment, his expression, usually hidden under his self-restraint, was not too good. His lower jaw tightened slightly. The space between his brows was like the summit of ice mountains, as though the amiable mask had been torn off and turned into a somber undercurrent that enveloped him—like an ice arrow that would pierce through everything in the next second.

An Shuyan subconsciously raised her hand to grab his sleeve, wanting to keep him by her side. She quietly spoke, “CEO Mo, Uncle Mo and my father are looking for you.”

Mo Jingshen’s gaze was frighteningly cold. An Shuyan’s brows furrowed in distress. She tightened her grip around his sleeve. “CEO Mo!”

“Let go.” Mo Jingshen’s heavy voice rang. He did not wait for An Shuyan’s reaction and directly tugged his hand out. He expressionlessly headed in the direction Sheng Yihan had walked.

An Shuyan stood frozen for a moment, before tugging up her skirt as she rushed to follow.

“CEO Mo, it’s been many years. I’m not sure if…” From the side, someone saw Mo Jingshen and approached to chat.

“Excuse me.” Mo Jingshen did not turn back as he walked past, his gaze slightly heavy.

“CEO Mo.” An Shuyan saw he was about to approach that direction and was worried about what she had guessed earlier on was true. She quickly grabbed onto his wrist. “Tonight is Mo Corporation and Shine Group’s important event. Earlier on, the worker said the restroom on the first floor cannot be used. Hearing the bustle of movements behind him, Sheng Yihan glanced back. When cold gaze met Mo Jingshen’s, the two pair of eyes collided like an explosion caused by the clash between two icebergs in the North Pole. Sheng Yihan paused his footsteps in front of the bathroom, a flash of thought passing by his eyes as his lips curved ambiguously.

Mo Jingshen approached; his expression mild. “Tonight’s evening party, it seems like the Mo family was not sufficiently considerate. The hotel bathroom actually malfunctioned. Why doesn’t Mr. Sheng head to the second floor?”

“This Sheng does not deserve this. I haven’t even officially stepped through the business world, and CEO Mo already remembers my name. You can even recognize me with one glance.” When Sheng Yihan spoke, his tone was unhurried and did not reveal any of his emotions either.

Mo Jingshen said nothing else. His cold eyes had turned toward the dark end of the hallway, looking at the bathroom door.
