“Fangsu, we need to check you if it hurts you and later we need to punish the culprit. Even though he is my brother, I won’t let him go off. He will get what he deserves.”

“I don’t want it.” Ming Fangsu denied, her voice heavy, choked and broken.

“Fangsu, you don’t have to fear him. I am with you. Trust me.”

Ming Fangsu took a deep breath and spoke. “I am not scared of him. I don’t want my father to know about it because he won’t be able to handle it.”

“We can’t hide it, Fangsu. It’s not a small thing and more important we can’t let go of the culprit who hurt you like this.” Zhang Jei tried to convince her.

Even though Ming Fangsu was hurt both mentally and physically, she had already decided what she wanted to do. She tried to get up and sit on the bed. Zhang Jei helped her sit while helping her to cover herself, and the nanny song brought water for her.

Ming Fangsu was broken inside and she would have cried all the time but the realization of what will happen if her father will get to know about her brought her back to her senses and made her think rationally despite the pain she was feeling in her heart.

She held Zhang Jei’s hands as she was pleading. “Don’t let father know about this. This should not leave this room.” She continued looking at her sister-in-law in a hope that she will listen to her.

Hearing her, Zhang Jei couldn’t help but apologize to her as the culprit was her brother. Her voice choked. Not a single word could make its way out. “I am sorry, Fangsu.” Zhang Jei cried.

“You don’t need to as it was not your fault,” said Ming Fangsu.

The one who needed to get a console was consoling the other, acting all strong.

“Sister-in-law!” Ming Fangsu called her.

“Hmm!” Zhang Jei looked at her to know what she wanted to say.

“Do you really think of me as your younger sister?” Ming Fangsu asked.

“This younger sister wants a promise from you that you won’t ever tell anyone what happened tonight.”

Zhang Jei was hesitant.

Not getting a reply from Zhang Jei, Ming Fangsu spoke again. “For the sake of my father and the man whom you also think of as your father. Do you want him to die with the pain of not being able to protect his daughter?”

Zhang Jei shook her head.

“Then promise me you won’t tell anyone. First time I am asking you for something and I wish you won’t reject me. Not for me, but for the sake of father. Also, if someone knows about it, I won’t be able to live with my head high.”

“You did nothing wrong to lower your head in front of everyone,” Zhang Jei said.

Nodding, Ming Fangsu asked, “I know but which girl would like others to know that she was raped?”

The word Rape she said it normally but Zhang Jei couldn’t take it. “How can you think about others and forget your own pain? No need to act so strong it will just hurt you.”

Both ladies thought Ming Fangsu was relieved because of the promise they made, but they couldn’t see what was behind her pretty eyes. In her mind, she had already decided something and just waited for it to execute.

“Don’t you want to see a doctor?” Zhang Jei asked worriedly.

Ming Fangsu shook her head. “I am fine. I just need to take a bath.”

“I will help you.” Zhang Jei offered.

“I want to be alone for now. I will bath and sleep.”

Zhang Jei had a doubt that how come Ming Fangsu was behaving so normally and asked, “Fangsu, what is going on in your mind?”

Ming Fangsu looked at Zhang Jie, pulling out a light smile on her lips.

“Don’t worry sister-in-law, I am not a weak person. What happened with me is sad and very hurting that I want to keep crying, but it won’t make things better. I need to be better till morning so I can face my father how he likes to see me, pretty and always smiling. If I keep crying, father will guess that I am not well. I just need some time alone.”
