Seeing Lu Feng waiting for him, Lu Han spoke annoyingly as his mother already disturbed the peace of his mind. “What now, Lu Feng?”

“Don’t tell me you will listen to Mother,” asked Lu Feng.

“After getting an ear full from mother, I don’t wish to hear anything from you. If you really want to stop her then, why don’t you get a position for yourself that will make her proud? She has expectations from you as she knows you are the smartest one among us all,” Lu Han said.

“I don’t wish to,” Lu Feng replied coldly.

“Then I don’t wish to get any advice from you too,” saying annoyingly, Lu Han stepped forward to enter his room but stopped hearing Lu Feng.

“What she wants can only bring disaster in this family, elder brother.”

Lu Han turned to look at him. “I know but she is our mother and what is wrong if she wishes her sons to be at some better position where she will brag about it to others. How can you expect her to hear and see what other says while she has nothing to say about? One of her sons is sitting far away, whom hardly anyone knows and the other one is useless and spoiled in other’s eyes when it’s not the fact. Exactly how do you expect her to react? Have you ever thought about what she wants and what she feels?”

Lu Han’s words left Lu Feng with nothing to say as somewhere his brother was right. Among both of them, no one ever did anything so that their mother could feel proud of them. Lu Han was not with his mother to get Lu Qiang’s position, but he could understand his mother’s side too and didn’t argue much with her. Instead, he agreed with her hoping it would calm her down at least for a time being.

“So you agreed with what she wants,” Lu Feng asked.

“I said I will try as it was the only way to calm her down for a while. The way she looked, I am sure she is ready to do anything to make us listen to her. You said no and if I had done the same, it would only provoke her,” Lu Han replied.

“Hmm!” Lu Feng knew his brother was right.

Both went to their rooms. As Lu Han entered his room, his wife, Qin Xiu, was waiting for him.

“Why did mother call you for? Since morning I noticed, there was something wrong with her,” asked Qin Xiu.

“Nothing special.” Saying, Lu Han lied down in a bed with his one arm covering his eyes.

Qin Xiu understood there was something that was going in her husband’s mind and asked, “You can share it with me. I might not give you a solution, but at least you can feel good to share your worry.”

Lu Han didn’t remove his arm from his eyes and replied. “Mother wants me to do something that I don’t want to even though she thinks it’s for my own good. I can’t even say no to her directly as it will provoke her. You know how mother is when something doesn’t go according to her wish.”

“Is it about the family business?” Qin Xiu asked.

Qin Xiu was one smart woman, and she too belonged to one known business family. Her father was among the board members of Lu corporations and they had good relations with the Lu family.

She grew up witnessing the things normally happening in the business families so she could understand her mother-in-law for long but she never ever talked about it. She was aware of what was going on in Su Hui’s mind since the day she entered Lu Mansion but she preferred to be not the part of conflicts in the family brought by the fight for power but somewhere she wanted her husband to be a respected and powerful person.

“I think there is nothing bad in what mother wants. Any mother in the world would want the same for her children,” she said, letting him know that she was aware of what was going.

Her reply didn’t surprise Lu Han and finally looked at his wife. “True, but it will spoil the peace in this house and all the relations would scatter and about money, you know I have more than enough though I can’t show them openly.”

“I know you are doing your best to make our future the best, but having more won’t be bad. It can only be legal as you are the oldest one and it can make mother happy.”

“Hmm! But I don’t want to be a reason to bring chaos in this house.”

Qin Xiu tried to convince him. “Lu Qiang is busy with his married life, and if he cannot do well, then you and Lu Feng have a chance. The way he is paying attention to his wife, it looks like the doesn’t have time for business. Only if he fails to do things a few times, then there is a chance. Moreover, nowadays he is busy with grandpa’s situation.”

“He is not like that. He won’t ever neglect his responsibility and stop talking about it. Let me rest.” Two important women in his life could not understand his situation.

“Okay! But think about what I said.” Saying, Qin Xiu went out of the room to go to her mother-in-law.

She knocked on the door and Su Hui allowed her to enter. Sitting on the couch, she looked at her mother-in-law. “Are you not feeling well, mother?” she asked.

“How can a mother be well when her two sons never listen to her even if she meant good?”

“I can understand you, mother. Don’t worry. I will talk to them, though I am not sure about Lu Feng,” said Qin Xiu.

“Only if he listens to me, then I don’t have to worry about us all.” Su Hui’s expectations were from Lu Feng.

“I have a way to convince him and when he is ready, I will ask my father to back him up. After all, he holds an important position in Lu Corporation.”

Su Hui knew, though her daughter-in-law never showed it, she was aware of everything and she didn’t have to tell her each and everything. Not refusing to get the help of her father, Su Hui said, “Do that” but didn’t ask if she knew what was going on between her and her two sons as there was no need to.
