Jiang Yang put the medicine pack in his hands back in the drawer. Then he picked up a small square shaped alarm clock from the bedside table and started to talk while playing with it, instead of looking at Jiang Yuyan. “Looks like, last night you took the medicines again”.

Jiang Yuyan just reached at the dressing table when he asked the question. She looked at him through the mirror and said, “Hmmm!’ and averted her sight from him.

She knew, she should not have took that medicines and when her brother asked about it she felt quite guilty. She picked up a moisturiser to apply on her skin, then Jiang Yang asked in a calm and low voice, but still one could hear the sadness in his tone and see it on his face “Was it really necessary?”

She stopped what she was doing and said, “If not, then why should I have taken it?”

“Do you still feel scared?” He asked while he was still playing with a clock.

“Nope! But just in case…You..were.. not..at.. home..so….,” she said the last line awkwardly as she knew, it was wrong to be dependent on her brother always.

“Hmmm! Try to avoid it. I told you, you should take it only if you get the nightmares. You can’t take it just to suppress the anxiety of having them”.

She gave out a deep sigh and said, “Ummm! I know!” and started to apply moisturiser on her face.

Jiang Yang didn’t talk much further and changed the topic, “I have given order for a breakfast. Come downstairs once, you get ready”.

“Okay!” She replied.

He put the clock back on the bedside table and moved towards the door without looking at her. Through the mirror, Jiang Yuyan saw him leaving the room. Then, she again poured the moisturiser on her palm and was about to apply it on her neck, but stopped and looked at her neck carefully.

There was a red mark on her neck which was quite visible. She observed it carefully while touching it with her fingers. She then moved the neckline of her bathrobe with her fingers to see further inside. When she saw, what was there? She was shocked to see it. On her neck, shoulder and below her collarbone, there were red and blue marks.

As various thoughts were running in her mind, she didn’t notice it, while lying in the bathtub. When she saw those marks, she understood those are the hickeys, the signs of her intimate moments with Lu Qiang.

She remembered the incident of the last night when Lu Qiang was kissing her on her neck and below that. A shiver ran down through her body and she had goosebumps all over it again. She closed her eyes. Her heart was running faster again and her breath was heavy. She remembered those beautiful moments and unknowingly she blurted out his name “Lu Qiang!”

When she realised what she just said, she opened her eyes, shook her head and came back to her senses. She scolded on herself, ‘Stop thinking about him already. Just remember what you decided last night’. She then took a deep breath and exhaled from her mouth three times.

She started to apply moisturiser to her neck and suddenly she realised that her brother was not looking at her. “F**k!”

She stopped and sat on the small table which was beside the mirror. She covered her face in her palm and said, “What should I do now? I was just worried about facing Lu Qiang, but now, I have to face my brother also”.

She was embarrassed after realising that her brother must have seen it, that’s why he didn’t look at her.

She knew, her brother always understood her but this was something unacceptable, as she was feeling embarrassed. Kissing Lu Qiang was a different thing while doing more than that was different.

She was worried, her brother might think that he left her with a man for one night and she got carried away. She gave some thought about it then got up from the table.

She got dress up in a white colour top which had three buttons at the top side and a collar as she wanted to hide hickeys around her neckline. Wearing a turtle neck top in summer was not a good idea, as it would make obvious that she was trying to hide something on her neck.

She secured the top button of her top tightly and made sure that the collar was hiding everything properly. For her, it was a relief that those marks were on the lower side of her neck or it would have been difficult to hide them.

She paired her top with a bottle green colour knee-length skirt which had white colour delicate embroidered flowers on it at some places. She tied her hairs in a pony, behind her head and got ready to go out of her room.

When she opened the door, she checked the area outside of her room to make sure that if he was there. That ‘He’ was lu Qiang.

She was not ready to face him yet. When she made sure, there was no one, she moved downstairs and went to the living room.

Jiang Yang was sitting alone on the sofa. When she saw he was alone her sight started to wander here and there. Jiang Yang noticed her and said, “He is upstairs”.

This sentence from her brother startled her and she thought, ‘My brother and his eagle eyes. Can’t do anything about them’. She ignored what he said and sat on the sofa.

After few minutes, Lu Qiang came downstairs. He prepared himself to see her in the morning, but still felt nervous to face her. He came forward and said good morning to her then sat on the sofa and started to go through his phone. He didn’t look at her again.

Jiang Yuyan also said good morning awkwardly and averted her sight from his face. It was hard for her to look into his eyes and the same applied to Lu Qiang.

There was an awkward air between them which Jiang Yang was able to feel and he was smiling lightly. He noticed both of theirs reactions and found it funny and entertaining too. He thought, ‘Time to make morning interesting.’
