“No need. I will be back to my woman instead of being the third wheel,” Lu Lijun said and continued watching his brothers.

While Jake was changing clothes, Noah went to Lu Lijun and whispered, “You were always the third wheel,” and looked at the other two Lu brothers who looked anxious to their bones.

“That, you realized now? You were the one who preferred to have this third wheel to hide your feelings,” Lu Lijun countered.

Jake didn’t bother with his two friends and lay on the couch with his head resting on a cushion and his one arm covering placed over his face that covered his eyes.

Noah looked at him, It was hard to guess what was going on in Jake’s mind these days. He was maintaining his distance from him and intentionally trying to show him that he didn’t matter to him at all.

‘All his efforts are to divert me from thinking about what that Mark said and trying to make me feel that I am not important to him and I should not think about anything related to him,’ Noah thought, ‘When all these years I could not separate myself from you, then how do you expect me to do it now though I say we are just friends?’

Lu Lijun looked at Noah who looked back at him. Lu Lijun knew Noah was thinking about Jake and asked, “What happened?”

Noah shook his head and asked, “Did Mr Xiao Min get what we asked him to?”

“Hmm,” Lu Lijun nodded, “I didn’t tell you because we all were together after so long and I didn’t wish you to worry about some other matter.”

“I understand and if I guess it right, even if we go to him, we might not get an answer,” Noah said.

Lu Lijun looked at sleepy and drunk man Jake and asked Noah, “Did you mean…”

“He is our friend and that’s what he knows us well. I am sure he already took care of everything before we reach them. The thing which he had been hiding for long, how can he let it out so easily. But I wonder what he had paid to shut their nasty mouths.”

“True.”

“But still I can’t stop. I will make sure to find it out,” Noah said and Lu Lijun agreed with him, “I am always here to help you.”

As the two talked for a while, Noah asked, “Are you really going to sleep here?”

Lu Lijun smirked, “Do you really feel so,” he looked at the wall clock in the room, “She will be in deep sleep in half an hour.”

“You know the timings?”

“Don’t you know that much about Jake?”

Noah looked at sleeping Jake, “Well…it’s good that you are going back to your room. Less crowded in my bed.”

“Yeah only he doesn’t make your bed crowded,” Lu Lijun commented and pulled out his cellphone, “Let me see how my elder brother is doing.”

He dialled Lu Feng’s contact number who he could see from that room.

Lu Feng, who was walking here and there anxiously, suddenly his cellphone rang and it turned him happy but it was momentary till he saw the name flashing on the cellphone screen. “Lu Lijun?”

Lu Feng received the call, “What is it?”

Lu Lijun laughed a little, “Nothing, I am just enjoying seeing my brother like this for the first time.”

Lu Feng looked at the window of Noah’s room where Lu Lijun was standing and said, “Seems like you got kicked out as well. Then, how dare you mock your elder brother.”

It didn’t affect Lu Lijun, “I was kicked out but I am happy. That shows she is jealous, that means she finally has feelings for me.”

“Did you really need this as proof of her feelings for you?, he frowned, “I can’t believe I have such an idiotic brother,” Lu Feng said in a mocking tone.

“Well, ‘happy idiot’ you can say brother instead of being an anxious and scared one like few people,” Lu Lijun countered.

“Did you just call me an idiot?” Lu Feng glared at Lu Lijun.

Lu Lijun chuckled, “I just said an anxious and scared one.”

“You just wait,” Lu Feng said angrily.

Lu Lijun smiled pleasantly, “Finally, good to see you can also be angry, elder brother. I never saw you like this. Seems like only my sister-in-law can bring this out of you.”

At this Lu Feng felt speechless and said, “You talk too much Lu Lijun. Go sleep,” he hung up the call and signalled Lu Lijun to go away from the window and stop looking at him.

Lu Lijun and Noah stepped away from the window.

“Brother Feng in love, what a sight to see,” Noah commented.

Lu Lijun nodded, “Hmm, I am happy for him.”

“I wonder when he will tell your family? Doesn’t he want to?” Noah asked.

“He sure does but you know the situation. Once everything is fine, I am sure he won’t wait to introduce her to our family.”

“Hmm, kind of critical but only brother Feng can deal with it.”

Lu Lijun scoffed, “My brother called me an idiot just now for being happy but he is the one as well. He likes that critical situation and feels happy most of the time.”

“Well, to think about it…I think it’s exciting. Life is full of surprises every day. Don’t you think so?” Noah asked.

“Only he knows. I am happy with the current surprise in my life,” Lu Lijun said and looked at the time, “To think about it, it’s time for me to be happier.”

Noah only smiled, “You are being so cheeky these days.”

Lu Lijun didn’t deny it and left the room.

When Lu Lijun entered the bedroom, as expected Jiang Yuyan was sleeping already. He slowly climbed the bed and sneaked inside the quilt she was covering herself with.

He knew she would not wake up and moved closer and slept like every night, holding her in his embrace. He inhaled her scent at the back of her neck which always calmed his mind, assuring him that it was not a dream but she was with him for real.
