After discussing with Noah and planning what to do next, Lu Lijun realized it was late and Jiang Yuyan must be waiting for him.

When Lu Lijun returned to the bedroom, he saw Jiang Yuyan sitting on the bed while resting her back on the bed headrest. The moment the door opened she looked at Lu Lijun as if she was waiting for him.

Lu Lijun smiled inwardly as to how lovely it felt to see her waiting for him though it was late. Like a wife waiting for her husband to return.

“Were you waiting for me?” he asked.

She nodded and saw him getting into the bed. He sat next to her and looked at her, “Why didn’t you sleep?”

“I couldn’t,” she replied.

He caressed her free hair to tuck behind her ears, “What were you thinking about?” Seeing her serious, it was not difficult for him to understand that something was going on in her mind.

She nodded and looked back at him, “What are you up to these days?”

He simply smiled, “It’s nothing much.”

She didn’t budge, “Or you just don’t want to tell me.”

Lu Lijun didn’t leave his calm side and answered, “I just don’t want you to think about business or anything. I kept you here so you can relax and focus on your health. If you keep paying attention to these things, then there is no meaning.”

“Is it something that might put you in danger?” she asked worriedly, not paying attention to his sweet words.

He chuckled lightly, “Do you know how good I feel when you worry for me.”

“Don’t change the topic,” she warned, frowning a little.

“Ah, fine,” he turned serious, “It’s nothing that will put me in danger or anything. I just want you to trust me and rest your mind, leaving everything to me. If I am not saying something that means I don’t want you to think about it. I have sent Xiao Min back to China so he can handle all your work from there and I will do it from here. Is it difficult for you to rest nicely and take care of yourself?”

“But…”

“Can’t you just let yourself be pampered and let me do everything? As far as I know, women love when their husbands spoil them and…..” he stopped, realizing what he had just said and felt his heart skipping a beat.

Jiang Yuyan simply looked at him. He looked like he had said something wrong.

“I…mean…as a woman you should accept the care I am showing to you…you should rest more as you have been exhausting yourself for the past ten years, now it’s my turn.”

Jiang Yuyan nodded while Lu Lijun let out an inward sigh of relief. Whatever he tried, what was engraved in his mind for the past ten years would not be easy for him to not say it – that she was his wife. He had promised he wouldn’t call her his wife and he needed to follow it.

“I will try,” she replied, which broke this awakeness.

But Lu Lijun felt puzzled for a moment. ‘Try what? Try to rest or try to be a spoiled wife?’

He didn’t ask as long as she just agreed to whatever she meant it for.

He cleared his throat and said, “The reason I want you to rest and be strong is not just for yourself but for us.”

She blinked her eyes to know what he meant.

“Well, I don’t want you to be tired when we are doing the end thing. Today just after one round you look tired…Umm….mfff…”

His mouth was covered by her hand. “C-Can you be a little less shameless?” She felt his lips curved in a smile under her palm.

He moved her hand away and asked boldly as if it was the most sensible discussion they were having, “Am I wrong?”

She felt embarrassed and lowered her gaze to avoid looking at him, “That…was…”

“Don’t worry, we will work on it,” he said, smirking teasingly.

Jiang Yuyan turned silent, not knowing what to say.

“What happened?” he asked, seeing her silent.

She shook her head.

“Come here,” he asked her to come closer.

She moved closer as she sat while keeping her hand on his shoulder. He held her closer and caressed her cheek with his one hand.

“Now tell me what you are thinking,” he looked at her.

She moved her gaze up to look at him, “I..about what you said…we will be doing….”

“Hmm,” he understood, “Don’t worry. Though I am being impatient these days, I am not in a hurry and it won’t happen at least now.”

She looked at him surprisingly.

“It should not be when you are not ready and not here. We will plan a nice vacation,” he answered her unspoken question.

“Vacation?”

He nodded, “Where only two of us would be there and no one would disturb us. No work, no worries and no one around that we know. Just the two of us.”

Jiang Yuyan only looked at him. ‘He thinks about everything and even plans in that way. He looks clear about what he thinks or plans. There is not a tinge of hesitation in him.’

“So, when shall we plan this vacation?” he asked.

“Whenever you want,” she replied, not realizing what she was agreeing to.

“Very well, then,” he said happily with a sly smirk, ” I will make sure you won’t regret it and will ask for such vacations again and again.”

Jiang Yuyan knew what he was implying and cleared her throat awkwardly, “let’s sleep now.” She immediately separated from him and lay on her side of the bed and faced her back to him to hide her blushing face.

Lu Lijun lay in bed and moved closer to her while wrapping his hands around her and pulled her closer to sleep while embarrassing her.

Jiang Yuyan tried to break away from his hold but Lu Lijun held her tightly, “Stop moving or you will just end up making me more impatient than I already am.”

Jiang Yuyan stopped moving and stayed frozen at his words. She felt his warm body hugging her while holding her tightly. She had no place to move. His warm breath brushed at the back of her neck making her shiver a little with unknown expectations.

After a short silence, she heard him ask, “Yuyan?”

“Hmm?” she asked, feeling anxious about what he would say. From his low and changed voice, she could sense his intentions were not so good.

“When will you allow me to taste you?”
