Wen zac looked at Ming Lan who was looking the other way with her sight lowered down. She was his wife then it should be fine if he… Wen Zac moved his hands to her shoulder and slowly pulled her dress down her shoulder as his fingertips brushed against her skin which gave her goosebumps.
She inhaled deeply as she could feel the man, her husband standing behind her and was looking at her through the mirror. She didn’t know how to react as she thought, ‘Is he gonna do something? He had already made it clear that it would happen for sure and I can’t back down. I think it’s the time but it’s too fast. Can’t we just wait a little longer, at least till we know each other better,’ she sighed inwardly, ‘No use of waiting. We can just get to know each other even after this. It’s fine. It’s our wedding night.’

When she was immersed in her thoughts, her dress had already fallen to the ground and she heard the sound of the door closing. She immediately looked at the mirror but no one was standing behind her as he had already left.

’Did I do something to upset him? I don’t think so. He must want me to freshen up first. Well better this way as I am so tired already.’

Ming Lan had a quick bath and came out of the bathroom wearing the comfy pajama set. Wen Zac, who was sitting on the couch, while waiting for her, looked at her and observed her for a few moments.

He stood up and went to the wardrobe as he said, “I will freshen up. You can rest.”

Ming Lan just nodded as she saw him going to the bathroom. She went to the wardrobe and pulled out a few skincare products and applied them, ‘It smells nice.’ she even made her hair and looked in the mirror thinking if she was looking fine.

’What to do now,’ feeling puzzled she went to the bed and sat at its age. She felt her feet were hurting as she was wearing heels the entire day while she liked to wear comfortable footwear all the time.

She folded one leg and put her foot horizontal at the knee of the other leg. She pressed a few points on her foot to feel better. As she was busy, Wen Zac came out of the bathroom, wearing his nightclothes, and saw what she was doing. Seeing him she immediately put her leg down as if nothing happened.

Wen Zac stood in front of the mirror and blow-dried his wet hair while Ming Lan looked at him through the corner of her eyes.

’This is so awkward. Who will say it’s our wedding night. I don’t even know what to talk about with him.’

Once Wen Zac finished, he turned to look at her and went to her.

Seeing him coming to her, she felt a little nervous but the next moment saw him kneeling in front of her. It puzzled her and before she could say a word, she found her one foot in his hands and heard him, “Your feet look swollen.”

”I..am not used to wearing heels the entire day,” she replied in a low voice.

”You don’t need to wear it then. Just wear what you are comfortable in,” he said and started massaging her feet.

She tried to pull her foot back, “It’s..It’s fine. I can do it.”

Wen Zan held her foot tighter to not let her move and said while focussed on his work, “I believe, you don’t consider me as a stranger now.”

With these words, she could not stop him from massaging her feet as he was not a stranger but her husband now. She looked at the busy man whose sharp features looked even attractive when he was focussed and domineering.

She had never looked at him in this way but today he felt different and she wanted to keep looking at him in a daze.

”Ahh…”

A sudden voice left her throat that sounded more like a seductive moan inside this romantically decorated room. Hearing her, Wen Zac froze while Ming Lan covered her mouth with her hands. The atmosphere turned awkward for her but she needed to clear it to him that why she suddenly acted like this.

”M-My toes. Don’t touch them please,” she said.

When Zac who was pulling her toes a while ago, looked at her, “Why?”

”They…Ahh..” she covered her mouth again as Wen Zac pulled her toe to check what he thought about it. ‘So she has sensitive toes,’ he concluded, grinning inwardly.

”Stop..it…It’s embarrassing,” she said, trying to pull her foot from his hold.

He nodded lightly and didn’t touch her toes again but massaged her feet lightly. Ming Lan could not deny that it felt really relaxing though she had not expected him to be so attentive to her.

’He sure knows how to care,’ she concluded and smiled lightly.

Once he was done, Wen Zac let go of her feet, “Does it feel better?”

She nodded and he stood up, “Be comfortable on the bed.”

Ming Lan didn’t know what he exactly meant by this. It seems more like he was asking her to sleep already. She cleared her throat, “I don’t mind if you want to….”

”I will wait for the day when you will want it too,” he said and went to the other side of the bed.

’What does he mean by this?’ she looked at him and said awkwardly in a low, “I didn’t say I don’t want it.”

Wen Zac sat on the bed and looked at her who was waiting to hear from him, “Few things are better not done out of formality. They lose its value.”

To this, Ming Lan could only agree as he was right, “I understand.”

”Get to sleep now. We have a lot of time later. I am sure you know, you will never be free from me,” as his eyes carried a tinge of warning.

”I don’t plan to be free either,” she assured, looking back at him.

He smiled and pulled the blanket as he instructed, “Lie down.”

Ming Lan did so and Wen Zac covered both of them with a blanket as they slept keeping a distance between them.

Looking at the ceiling while thinking about something, he asked, “Are you disappointed?”

”Not really. What you said makes sense. We can wait till….” she stopped.

He looked at her, “Till what?”

”Till we get comfortable with each other,” she answered.

Wen Zac nodded lightly. ‘I have waited for so long. I can wait even more as long as you are by my side,” he thought and said, “Good Night.”

”Good night!” she wished him back.

Ming Lan fell asleep soon while Wen Zac was still awake though he had closed his eyes. He turned to his one side to face the woman sleeping soundly next to him.

Like every other man, Wen Zac too wanted to have this wedding night though Ming Lan didn’t love him yet. As his wife, she would have gone with it if he had initiated but when he saw Ming Lan wearing a comfy night dress though there were others too, he realized she was not comfortable with him yet and he should give her some more time.

He raised his hand to caress her cheek but he was scared it would wake her up. ‘I hope you will feel the same for me as I do for you.’

Having her as his wife finally felt dreamy to him and he didn’t wish to get out of it.
