”Are you shy to hear it now? That night I remembered how much you wanted me.”

”Will you stop embarrassing me?” Lu Lian asked.

”Fine,” Ming Rusheng said and finally let her go. He took her to sit on the couch, “Now tell me what is troubling you?”

She sat next to him, “Nothing much. I am just worried about Lu Lijun and Yuyan.”

”What happened?”

”Not sure but nothing feels right between the two these days,” she replied.

Ming Rusheng nodded, “They will be fine.”

Nothing could ease Lu Lian’s worry, “On the day of the naming ceremony, I saw Lu Lijun forcefully taking Yuyan with him and I don’t know what to think about it.”

Ming Rusheng wrapped his hand around her and caressed her arm to make her feel better, “You don’t need to worry about them. They just need time.”

”I hope so. I want both of them to be happy,” she said and looked at Ming Rusheng, “I think Lu Lijun likes Yuyan.”

He looked back at her, “Is it wrong?” he asked.

Before answering him, she questioned, “You don’t look surprised.”

”It’s not that difficult to guess,” he replied.

”So you knew it from the start,” she concluded.

”Didn’t you too?” he asked.

”I didn’t pay much attention. More like I was trying to ignore it. But now that I think about it, even brother Lu Feng knows it.”

”He must be the first one to know it.”

”True. So many times brother Lu Feng said the things that indicated it. I was the one who intentionally didn’t think about it.”

”You didn’t answer me. Is it wrong if he liked her?” Ming Rusheng asked.

”No, but I am worried that Yuyan will never think about him like this and he will be heartbroken.”

”You never know. Life can change at any moment,” he commented.

”I hope it will change for the better,” she replied and continued to sit with him, feeling at ease.

”Tomorrow we have to go for a dress trial for best man and bride’s maid,” Lu Lian reminded him.

”I know. I have cleared both of ours schedules,” Ming Rusheng replied.

”I can’t believe Lanlan agreed to marry someone,” she said.

”Hmm,” Ming Rusheng nodded, “But in the end, she chose the right person.”

”I feel so too. Mr. Wen is a nice person. She will be happy with him.”

Mings and Wen’s family were busy preparing for the upcoming wedding. The bride and the groom had to go to select a wedding dress for them. Wen Zac picked up the Ming Lan from the Ming Mansion and reached An Tian’s place.

An Tian welcomed them. “Glad to have you two here.”

”Thanks. I hope you will do a good job as always,” Wen Zac replied.

”It’s bad to doubt the best designer in this city,” An Tian countered as he led their way inside. “Where are the best man and the bride’s maid?”

”You know where these two must be. They just need a chance to be alone,” Wen Zac replied.

An Tian offered a teasing smile to the couple to be married, “Not everyone is as fortunate as you to get married so fast. You two don’t have to be like them as you would be officially permitted to spend time together, Mr. and Mrs. Wen.”

”Well, that’s true,” Wen Zac agreed while Ming Lan kept quiet.

’I keep forgetting, after getting married I have to be with him…husband and wife,” she exhaled lightly and heard An Tian who looked like could see through her thoughts, “Ms. Ming, you still have a chance to back down.”

She looked at An Tian surprised and before she could say a word, Wen Zac glared at him coldly, “Seems like you don’t like your business running so smoothly.”

An Tian laughed, “You almost scared me, huh,” and called for his assistants, “You take Ms. Ming with you.”

Ming Lan went with them and the other two saw Ming Rusheng and Lu Lian coming towards them.

An Tian looked at Wen Zac, “Thanks to you, Mr. Ming had stepped inside this place and I got a chance to design clothes for him.”

”Don’t flatter me. You will pay for trying to manipulate my woman’s thoughts,” Wen Zac replied coldly.

”I was just trying to ease the anxious girl. Don’t worry, she won’t back down,” An Tian assured and asked, “Isn’t it an arranged marriage? Why does it feel like I was trying to manipulate someone’s love for a long time love?”

”You better keep your psychologist brain away,” Wen Zac warned.

”Trust me, if you tell her, she will be more than happy unless you plan to make it happen in some interesting way.”

”I will prefer to start anew by keeping the past behind.”

”Well, that’s not a bad idea either.”

”What idea?” Lu Lian asked as she smiled at An Tian and Wen Zac.

”With a groom and bride, I am getting handsome best man and prettiest bride’s maid in an offer to design the nice dresses for,” An Tian replied.

Lu Lian smiled and asked, “Where is Lanlan?”

”In the bride’s room,” he replied and Lu Lian left to go to her.

An Tian shook hands with Ming Rusheng, “Good to see you here.”

Ming Rusheng gave a light nod and the groom was directed to try his clothes.

When the bride was ready, everyone waited to see her. The curtains shifted aside and they saw a pretty bride to be in her white wedding dress and could not take their eyes off of her.

”She is so pretty,” Lu Lian said excitedly only to hear one dazed man say, “The prettiest.”

everyone agreed to it, “True.”

Wen Zac immediately got back to his senses and stopped looking like he was just mesmerized. He didn’t wish to show it to Ming Lan. Ming lan who always kept her appearance simple looked extraordinarily beautiful in her wedding dress.

Ming Lan looked at Wen Zac and to her, he looked normal as usual and there was no excitement on his face that what a man shows when they see their woman in a bride’s dress. She failed to see his previous reaction which he hid immedietly.

’Did he not like the dress? she thought and heard Lu Lian asking Wen Zac, “Isn’t this dress perfect for her?”

”It’s good,” came the normal reply from him.

”Well, my designs are always perfect for the one i design for,” An Tian commented.

Getting, just a normal reaction from Wen Zac, Ming Lan felt sad but she hid it and then realized, ‘It’s a marriage of convenience. What more was I expecting? Not like we two love each other.’

Once the dress was selected, the bride returned to change it and Lu Lian and Ming Rusheng were led to try their dresses.

An Tian looked at Wen Zac, “Could you be more generous with your apreciation? The young woman would have felt happy.”

”I praised your dress, so be happy,” Wen Zac countered.

”Well, I will let it slide thinking you were so overwhelmed to see her pretty bride and you still feel like it’s a dream,” An Tian commented.

”I don’t want to get out of this dream by being happier than I should,” Wen Zac replied.

An Tian sighed and nodded to it, “I see her falling for you soon. keep it up.”

”That day, I will treat you with whatever you want,” Wen Zac assured.

”Well, then be ready with it. What I think, can never go wrong.”
