By noon, Jiang Yuyan woke up and she saw herself lying in bed with an IV attached to her hand. She sighed as frowned lines appeared on her forehead and closed her eyes back.

“Frowning and sighing out, not going to solve anything.”

She heard the familiar voice and frown lines on her forehead deepened more. Not opening her eyes, she spoke, “If you have finished doctor’s duty, you can leave.”

“Not yet, I can’t leave till I see my patient is fine,” the man countered and stood up from the couch as he stepped towards the bed.

“How are you feeling now,” he asked.

Finally, she opened her eyes and looked at the man who was standing just a little away from her bed.

“Don’t you know the manners to not get closer to the bed of a woman like this,” Jiang Yuyan said as she tried to sit up.

It didn’t affect him and he moved towards her to help her sit and even arranged the pillow for her to sit comfortably.

“President Lu seems to forget that I am her doctor. If you want me to be some random man who hits on you, I don’t mind though,” and sat at the edge of the bed after picking up the file from the bedside table.

“Your boldness will surely get you killed one day,” Jiang Yuyan warned.

“I don’t want one young man out there to go to jail just because of me. Moreover, I love my life more,” he said.

“You talk too much, An Tian,” Jiang Yuyan gave him a death glare.

“You can pull out my tongue later. For now, let me check you,” he said and started to examine her after removing an IV drip attached to her hand.

While noting down something in her file, An Tian asked, “Why are you doing this to yourself. Is it that difficult to start over?”

Jiang Yuyan looked away, “At least you should not say it. You know my real condition.”

“It can be better if you are really willing to.”

“I know, it won’t,” came the firm reply from Jiang Yuyan.

“It can. Just give yourself a chance.”

Jiang Yuyan scoffed, “What chance?”

An Tian looked at her, “A chance to be like before. A chance to be happy and make someone happy who truly loves you.”

“I don’t know what bullshit you are talking about again.”

An Tian sighed, “I am not even surprised.”

Jiang Yuyan kept quiet and asked, “Is this all because of your condition or you really don’t want it?”

“It’s not good to fancy a broken thing which can never be mend,” Jiang Yuyan commented, “Later it only breaks your heart when you lose it completely.”

“What if one holds the secret power to mend it?” An Tian asked.

“When it’s beyond repair, no secret power can help,” Jiang Yuyan countered.

“Or the broken one is just afraid of being mended or more like is habitual to be broken one?”

“Better to not get hurt over failing again and again in the attempts of mending it,” Jiang Yuyan answered.

“Broken one is afraid for the other one to get hurt but that other one is stronger than what the broken one thinks,” An Tian commented.

“And I wish that the other one to always be a stronger one and not waste time over a broken one.”

An Tian paused for a moment and stared into her eyes for a while. It startled Jiang Yuyan that what he was looking for.

“Do you really not feel anything?” An Tian asked straightforwardly.

Now it was Jiang Yuyan’s turn to stare at him for a while and she asked, “I care.”

“Only care?” An Tian asked again. “Think about it clearly.

“I don’t think such questions are related to noting down in my file,” Jiang countered as she clearly looked displeased.

“Hmm!” With a sigh, An Tian closed the file and said, “I have changed the medicines to another one. Make sure to take it for a week, without a miss.”

An Tian stood up, “Rest well.”

Jiang Yuyan nodded and An Tian turned to leave. Just as she reached the door, he stopped but didn’t turn to look at her. “I found out that the other one has been in the hospital since last night,” and he left not waiting to hear anything from her.

Jiang Yuyan felt like the sky fell on her and immediately picked her phone from the side table after pushing aside the blanket covering her.

The moment the call got picked up, she asked, “Xiao Min, where is Lu Lijun?”

“Boss, are you awake?” he asked.

“No I am dead,” she shouted in a full angry voice that Xiao Min felt its intensity even on the other side of the line. “Where is he?” she asked in a loud voice.

“He is in the hospital,” Xiao Min immediately asked.

“What happened?” she asked to get ready to leave.

“He drank the entire bottle of wine.”

Jiang Yuyan didn’t know what to say over it, “Which hospital?”

By this time, Xiao Min had already reached Jiang Yuyan’s room who was about to send off An Tian who shook his hand saying no need.

“Boss?” Xiao Min called as he hung up the coll.

“I will be ready in a while. Take me there,” she instructed.

“I will wait downstairs,” Saying Xiao Min left while Jiang Yuyan, who was feeling weak, got her clothes and went to the bathroom.

Jiang Yuyan reached the hospital with Xiao Min where he took her to see Lu Lijun. Jiang Yuyan entered the room and saw Lu Lijun lying on the bed. His face looked pale as if it had lost all the colors.

Lu Feng was still there with his brother while Noah was being sent to the office to handle the things in absence of Jiang Yuyan and Lu Lijun as Xiao Min himself could not leave his boss alone in her current condition.
