- Season 13 Episode 19 - Let's Stop Now
Lu Lian went to her room and she felt at peace after talking to Lu Han. She didn’t find it difficult to forgive her brother and instead felt nice after doing so. For the past few days, she was having bitterness inside that couldn’t let her rest but forgiving and thinking about the happiness of her brother made her feel better.
Standing by the window of her room while staring outside, the only thing she could think about was Ming Rusheng. ‘I could forgive my brother so easily then why was I so cruel to him? Instead of this, I should forgive him and end everything on a good note so we can part away peacefully. Should not be that hard..right…I can’t be with him but I can at least forgive him.’
She returned to her bed to sleep and decided, ‘I will talk to him tomorrow. After what happened on Friday night, I am sure it won’t be that easy but let’s just give it a try.’
——–
Lu Han returned to his room where no one was in the room. He searched for his wife Qin Xiu who was nowhere to be seen.
‘Where has she gone?’ thinking Lu Han sat on the couch, resting back at it, and closed his eyes.
Soon after someone entered the room and he heard the voice, “You look tired. Why are you sitting there instead of resting?”
Lu Han looked at his wife who looked worried for him and asked, “Where were you?”
Qin Xiu sat on the couch next to him facing him, “I was with mother. We were deciding on what gifts we should buy for Lu Bao and her baby.” She smiled brightly and looked so excited, “I helped mother look through lots of cute stuff online and we have already ordered most of them. Rest we will buy from the shop as mother was not sure if they will be that good. Ah! Everything seems so cute that I felt like ordering everything at once. Tomorrow mother and I…..”
Lu Han, who was just staring at his wife’s smiling and excited-looking face, hugged her immediately, which interrupted her from talking.
It startled Qin Xiu. First, she hugged him back and asked gently, “A-Are you not feeling well? Did something happen?”
“I am sorry,” he said and held her even more tightly.
“What happened? You are scaring me now?” she said in low voice and felt more worried.
“I am sorry for hurting you for so many years,” he repeated.
“Hurting me? When?” she asked.
“By not letting you have our baby?” he replied and buried his face in her nape.
Qin Xiu felt something moist on her shoulder and she knew what it was. He was crying and it hurt her more.
She patted his back and said gently, “I was the reason for whatever you did so it was only right for me to get punished along with you. Trust me, I don’t blame you.”
He looked back at her, “You don’t need to be this good to me. I have decided to stop here. You don’t need to go through it at all.”
It made her heart skip a bit as she turned anxious, “A-Are you thinking to give me a divorce? Don’t do it please.”
Lu Han moved back and looked at her, “Don’t you even think about it.”
“Then…why did you….”
“I was talking about us having our baby now,” he replied.
Qin Xiu looked at him in disbelief for a moment and touched his forehead, “Are you sure you are alright?”
He held her hand and caressed it, “I am fine and I meant what I just said.” He smiled looking at her still shocked face and said, “But if you don’t want to have our baby then I sure can divorce you.”
She finally came out of a sweet shock and hit him on the arm, “Don’t you dare talk about divorce. If you do so, first I will have a baby with you and then run away from you.”
“Cruel woman. I will lock you up even before you think about running away from me.”
“Who is crueler now?” she asked, giving him a narrowed-eyed look.
“Let me apologize then,” Lu Han said and before the delicate woman in front of him could understand what he was up to, her lips got sealed to suffocate her for some time.
When he let her go, she breathed deeply and said, “Like this, you will kill me even before we can have a baby.”
“Don’t worry I won’t let you die,” he said looking at her flushed face and leaned closer again but she stopped, “Door is not locked.”
Lu Han smiled and moved back. He had a lot more to confess to his wife.
“At that time when I asked you to abort our baby, it’s because it was not even a month Lu Qiang was gone and…”

“I know the reason. You don’t have to explain it to me,” she said.

“I know it hurt you a lot but still you listen to me quietly. Trust me it hurt me the same,” he said as tears again showed up in his eyes.
“I know,” it was she could say in her choked voice. More than losing a baby she was hurt to see him crying. She knew he had suffered a lot and not a single night was there when he had slept peacefully.
“That pain was too much to handle so I decided to accept it as my punishment and thought to never have a baby. It was the only way I could find it. I was selfish but I couldn’t find any other way.”
She wiped the tears from his cheek, “Stop thinking about it now. I don’t want us to cry like this.”
Lu Han nodded and hugged her back as she kept patting his back.
———-
The next day Lu Lian went to work, feeling anxious about how she would react when she met Ming Rusheng.
When Lu Lian reached the reception area before going to her office, her assistant greeted her. Just then the other elevator stopped at the floor and Ming Rusheng stepped out of the elevator. Everyone greeted him but the cold-looking man looked at no one and getting a response from him was next to impossible.
Lu Lian saw him but he didn’t even spare her a single glance as if she didn’t exist there. Ming Lan didn’t accompany him to the office that day and Lu Lian wondered where she was.
Everyone went to their office and started the work while Lu Lian was thinking about what she could talk to him.
There was a meeting at the start of the day and everyone was invited but Lu Lain.
“Ms. Lu I have to attend the meeting for the new project,” the assistant replied.
“Meeting, is it not in my schedule?” Lu Lian asked she was surprised she was not invited.
“Ms. Lu, I have been asked to not add to your schedule,” the assistant replied.
“Why?”
“Mr. Ming’s assistant said Ms. Lu won’t be working on a new project so there is no need to bother you regarding this.”
Lu Lian understood. She was leaving the company soon so there was no need for her to do anything more.
“You can go,” Lu Lian instructed.
The assistant turned to leave but stopped at the door, “Ms. Lu!”
“Huh?” Lu Lian waited for her to speak.
“Are you really leaving the company?”
“Hmm,” Lu Lian nodded and asked, “Why did you ask suddenly?”
“They have arranged the interviews for the same position once you leave? I will be having a new boss,” the assistant looked sad.
Though Lu Lian was ready to leave, she didn’t expect all this so fast and it somewhere hurt her. Soon someone will take her place and sit in her chair. How she got used to everything here.
“Ms. Lu, I will really miss you,” said the assistant, looking like she will start crying anytime soon.
“It’s fine. I am sure Mr. Ming will hire an even more capable person than me and you will get a good boss.”
The assistant could only nod and heard Lu Lian, “I can’t find a file of one project that Mr. Ming sent to me last week.”
“That file was asked back and Mr. Ming will handle it personally. That project will take longer and Ms. Lu will be gone soon so must be the reason,” the Assistant replied.
Lu Lian could only nod to it and asked the assistant to leave.
‘So he just wants me to finish that final project and leave,’ she concluded, ‘Good for me. That way I won’t have anything unfinished work here.’
Though she consoled herself, she couldn’t deny the fact that it hurt her.
