- MY BROTHER IN-LAW TURN HUSBAND, VOLUME 6
- Season 12 Episode 61 - Dinner Date
As planned Lu Lian got ready to go out for dinner with Ming Rusheng.
“Ms. Lu, may I know where you are leaving?” Lu Bao asked, seeing the well-dressed Lu Lian who liked having an important event to attend.
“Just for dinner,” Lu Lian replied, wearing heels.
“Only dinner? Normal dinner?” Lu Bao asked who settled herself on the couch while walking slowly.
“Hmm,” Lu Lian nodded.
“But why do I feel as if you are going on a date,” Lu Boa teased.
“Don’t use your brain too much. Pay attention to that tiny guy inside your belly who would be out in a month,” Lu Lian countered.
Lu Bao’s eyes turned wide open as she exclaimed. “In a month? Wait let me count,” It shifted Lu Bao’s attention.
“Hmm, it’s been six months you are here, and don’t forget to count the one and a half months before coming here. So now there is only one month left and a few more days.”
Lu Bao touched her belly, “I was waiting for it to come sooner but why does it feel scary now? Isn’t it so soon?”
Lu Lian went to her scared sister and sat beside her as she held her hand and Lu Boa felt calmer but only to hear a sarcastic remark from her sister, “Unfortunately, the human gestation period is nine months.”
“Ahh…why can’t it be longer?”
Lu Lijun stood up. “My dear sister, for that you should have been born as an African elephant to have it for twenty-two months.”
Lu Bao glared at her sister. “Instead of consoling me, you are being savage. I am sure it’s the effect of being with that cold man. Is he feeding you vinegar in the office?”
Hearing it, Lu Lian smiled widely and patted her sister’s head. “Everything would be fine.”
Lu Bao still continued to frown and Lu Lian spoke, “Anger is not good for a pregnant lady.”
Lu Bao finally stopped frowning and Lu Lian offered. “Let me take you to your room,” and helped her stand up. “There is nothing to be scared of. Aren’t you already prepared for it?” They walked out of the room.
“I am not scared about delivering a baby,” said Lu Bao as her face turned sad.
Lu Lian looked at her, “Then why?”
“After delivery, I have to return to my in-laws and when I have to stay with you all for some more time. You and Lu Lijun returned after so long and I don’t want to return so soon.”
“Aww, my sweet sister,” Lu Lian patted her head and Lu Bao said annoyingly, “Don’t pat me. Why didn’t you guys return sooner?”
“Anger,” Lu Lian commented and Lu Bao breathed deeply to calm herself.
“I know the way to make you stop here for longer,” Lu Lian said and Lu Bao halted as she looked at Lu Lian with anticipation. “What? Tell me fast.”
“You just need to say it in front of Grandpa….accidently,” said Lu Lian.
“Ahh, Got it,” Lu Bao smiled widely.
“But ‘accidentally is the keyword,” Lu Lian added.
“Of course,” Lu Bao understood. “You have become crafty. Seems like other than feeding you vinegar, he is teaching you to be cunning.”
Lu Lian just smiled. “I was just trying to find a way out for my sad sister.”
Just as they reached Lu Bao’s room, Lu Bao asked, “Is your dinner date with Mr. Ming?”
Lu Lian nodded subconsciously, “Hmm.”

“So I was right, it’s a date.”
“Huh? Nono. It’s just dinner.”
“Fine, don’t be so panicked as if I’ll come there to ruin your date…I mean dinner.”
A light blush covered Lu Lian’s face as she chose to be quiet and left after making Lu Bao comfortable in her bed.
When Lu Lian came out of the mansion to get her car, Lu Lijun and Jiang Yuyan arrived together after Lu Lijun took Jiang Yuyan to her favorite cotton candy place. Lu Lian stopped as she came across the two.
Seeing her ready nicely and going out, Lu Lijun asked, “Is elder sister going somewhere?”
Lu Lian who was already startled seeing Lu Lijun and Jiang Yuyan which she tried to hide, replied, “Dinner.”
“Dinner?” Lu Lijun asked again as he observed his sister who was ready nicely.
Cough! Lu Lian cleared her throat and nodded.
“With who?” Lu Lijun asked.
“Office colleague,” Lu Lian answered as her sight passed by Jiang Yuyan who was silent.
“Who?”
Lu Lian felt the sweat at the back of her neck and thought, ‘Is this guy younger than me or older. Always so scary.”
“That….”
“Is she a teenage girl that you are inquiring about like an elder brother?” finally Jiang Yuyan interrupted.
First Jiang Yuyan thought Lu Lian would answer as there was nothing she should hide but seeing her hesitation, Jiang Yuyan understood she didn’t wish to answer.
“I was just making sure of her safety,” Lu Lijun countered.
“I can handle myself. Don’t worry,” Lu Lian finally spoke up.
Lu Lijun understood and spoke, “Don’t be late.”
“Again acting like my elder brother,” Lu Lian commented and went towards her car.
“What’s wrong with her?” Lu Lijun, who was puzzled by her different behavior, felt puzzled.
“You should mind your business,” Jiang Yuyan said coldly.
Lu Lijun looked at her, “But my business keeps running away from me to let me mind it.”
Jiang Yuyan glared at him and stepped away to go inside the mansion while Lu Lijun followed her behind smiling lightly.
——-
Jiang Yuyan returned to her room and went to freshen up. Her calm mind only thought about where Lu Lijun took her today. She always expected him to do only that would annoy her but she didn’t expect him to this.
Clearing the water from her face, she thought, ‘I can’t understand him. One moment he like a storm and the next moment like a soft breeze…Totally unpredictable…I can never understand him.”
She was happy with what he did but then the next moment she thought, ‘Only if he can take that nonsense out of his mind, everything would be alright. We can be friends like in the past. I need to talk to him…calmly…so he would understand it.’
