When Jiang Yuyan was busy thinking about how Lu Lijun was working, her brother Jiang Yang came to the room.

“I brought you here so you can stay away from any worry and stress, but you still can’t give up on it,” said Jiang Yang as he sat on the couch next to his sister, who kept her laptop on the center table.

Jiang Yuyan looked at him. “Can you ever stop worrying about me?”

“I can’t. Never.” Jiang Yang replied.

“Same goes for me. Whatever happens, I can’t stop worrying. That’s my family,” Jiang Yuyan replied.

“I know, I know. Now come downstairs. Two people from my family are waiting for you,” Jiang Yang teased.

“They are my parents too.”

“Now, you only address the Lu family as yours, so I thought to give you some slack here,” Jiang Yang countered, as a teasing smile painted on his lips.

“Both are my family and my people,” she countered. “I’ll be there in some time.”

Jiang Yang went downstairs, where his parents were waiting for lunch. The Jiang couple returned to China as they heard what happened in the Lu family and wanted to be by their daughter’s side. Whatever happened in the Lu Family, she was the one to take responsibility for everything as the head of the family business too.

“Is she coming?” Mo Ruolan asked.

“Hmm, in a few minutes,” Jiang Yang replied.

Mo Ruolan looked at the staircase. Not seeing her daughter nearby, she asked, “Did something serious happen that you had to bring her here?”

“Nothing much. Just wanted her to spend some time away from everything,” Jiang Yang replied.

Mo Ruoan gave her son a doubtful look. “Why do I feel like you are hiding something from us?”

Jiang Yang acted normal. “What’s there to hide? What I know, you two know it too.”

“So you don’t want to tell,” Mo Ruolan concluded.

Jiang Yang didn’t reply and spoke, “I’m starving,” and started to serve food in his own dish. “But, I’m sure you two have something in mind.”

“We are planning to take Yuyan to the USA,” Jiang Peizhi informed.

“Not gonna happen,” Jiang Yang commented firmly. “She won’t leave until everything she planned is settled.”

“Lu Lijun is back, and he can handle everything now. There is nothing bad if we take her with us,” Mo Ruolan said.

Jiang Yang only sighed. “You two still don’t know her.”

“That I don’t know. I still regret not taking her with me when she was forced to marry Lu Feng. I let her be as it was her wish to stay there for Lu Lijun, but now there is no need. He is back and can handle everything on his own,” Mo Ruolan added.

“That’s why it’s difficult to take her away,” Jiang Yang mumbled.

“What do you mean?” Mo Ruolan asked.

“It would have been better if you had taken her away at that time. Now…..” Jiang Yang stopped and sighed. “You two will understand soon.”

Just then, Jiang Yuyan came there. “What are you three talking about so seriously?” she asked.

“Tell her,” said Jiang Yang to his parents as he started serving food for his sister.

“We want you to come with us to the USA,” Mo Ruolan said.

It surprised Jiang Yuyan. “What?”

“Lu Lijun is back, so there is no need for you to stay here,” Jiang Peizhi replied.

Jiang Yuyan looked at her brother, who shrugged his shoulders, saying he can’t help her.

“Not now. I need some more time,” Jiang Yuyan explained.

It pleased Mo Ruolan. “That means you are at least ready to come with us.”

Jiang Yuyan nodded.

“Think before you speak,” Jiang Yang commented.

Jiang Yuyan looked at her brother. “What do you mean?”

“Nothing. Anyways, I would be more than happy if you go with our parents,” Jiang Yang replied.

“You can also come with us. There is someone you might like to see,” said Mo Ruolan.

“I am fine here,” Jiang Yang replied coldly and focussed on his food.

After losing the second project, Lu Lijun returned to Lu Corporation. Entire Lu Corporation was aware by then that they had lost the second project too, thanks to the Fourth Young Master who handled everything on his own and didn’t even bother to get the advice from the experts in the company. The gossip went around in the company, doubting the capability of their future president.

“This is the first time we lost twice in a row.”

“I didn’t know in the absence of President Lu, our company would suffer like this.”

“Right. Did you see how the stock price fell all of a sudden?”

“First Wens stepped back from the previous partnersh.i.p.s, and now we even lost the projects which always came to Lu corporations.”

“Seems like bad days for Lu Corporation have started.”

“We should start applying to other companies.”

The entire Lu Corporation corporate building was like a newspaper gossip column where they couldn’t stop but criticize and doubt Lu Lijun’s ability.

In Lu Lijun’s office.

Noah and Lu Lijun sat to work on the next project as they had no time to waste.

“As we thought, Mr. Wen ended up offering what we wanted,” said Noah.

“Hmm. It’s necessary to stop him at once with something big,” said Lu Lijun.

“Well, he didn’t become your father-in-law, but I must say you understood him really well. Both of you would have been a good pair of father-in-law and son-in-law,” Noah had a teasing smile on his lips.

Lu Lijun glared at him. “We might meet your father-in-law soon, so prepare for it. He is more difficult than Mr. Wen.”

“I don’t remember having any father-in-law. Nicole doesn’t have a father,” Noah countered, ignoring the meaning behind Lu Lijun’s words.

“You know better what I mean.” Lu Lijun focussed on work.

Noah ignored it and resumed their previous talk. “Are you sure Mr. Wen wouldn’t threaten again with the shares he has?”

“He is a man of his words. So, we can expect positives from him,” said Lu Lijun.

“I am sure till now everyone must doubt your ability. It was written on everyone’s face when we entered the Lu Corporation.”

“I don’t have time to notice idiots,” said Lu Lijun. “Now, focus on work.”

Noah made himself comfortable to work as he mumbled a few lines like he was singing. “Handsome soldier….. on a mission… to save his lover from the troubles….”

Thud!

Lu Lijun picked up one file and threw it at him to stop him from singing.

Smiling widely, Noah caught it and spoke like an anchor of the reality show, “Ladies and gentlemen. The rest of the song lyrics you will know after the result of this project.”

Lu Lijun was about to throw another file, but then Noah spoke. “That’s an important one.”

Lu Lijun looked at the file, and it had the project name with Jiang Yuyan’s name written on it as she was the one concerned with it.

Lu Lijun saw her name and put that file down neatly.

“I have lyrics for this situation too. Do you want to listen?” Noah asked, smiling like usual.

“F.u.c.k off.”

Noah didn’t tease much as they needed to work, but he had fun while teasing his stubborn friend.
