Lu Lijun returned to his room, still not satisfied, as he didn’t get an answer. He lay in the bed as the clock kept running at its space. It was midnight, but still, he couldn’t sleep.

Lu Lijun looked at the clock. Checking the time, he stepped out of bed to go out of the room. Standing outside of his room, his feet took the way to Jiang Yuyan’s room on their own, and he couldn’t stop himself.

Subconsciously he went to her room; his mind was aware she must be sleeping at this hour. The medicines she had to take every night made her sleep deeply.

Not hesitating even for a moment, Lu Lijun opened Jiang Yuyan’s room door and went straight to the bed where she slept.

As expected, she was in a deep sleep. Staring at her like in a daze, Lu Lijun went to bed and sat at its edge. He leaned forward as his face moved closer to hers, and his eyes closely observed her face.

Gulping, he leaned even closer and pecked on her cheek lightly, not caring she might wake up. He didn’t care, and all he wanted was to be with her, to be closer to her.

He stayed like that for a moment as he inhaled the sweet scent from her; seductive for his senses.

Lu Lijun moved back a little, and his eyes fixed on her lips as he gulped and his breathing turned heavy. He leaned down to kiss her but then stopped.

‘What am I doing?’ He asked himself.

How much he wanted it, he knew it was not right. With his eyes shut tightly to discard the thoughts he just had, he moved back and exhaled to calm himself. The air around him turned hot even though the room was cold.

Before he could lose control over himself, Lu Lijun stood up and left in his room. Trying to calm himself, he realized, when Liwei pecked him on the cheek, he felt nothing. In contrast, just this much with Jiang Yuyan made him go crazy. The only thing he could ask himself was- ‘Why am I like this. Why?’

Lu Lijun picked up his cellphone and thought to call someone. The someone who came to his mind was his friends, but it was late at night and he didn’t call them.

He thought to call them the next day and talk about it.

The next morning Lu Lijun woke up and thought of going to his friends first.

He called Noah, “I’ll be there in some time.”

He didn’t inform him why and went downstairs, getting ready in his office clothes. Lu Jinhai and Jiang Yuyan were present in the living room who looked tensed watching some news on the NewsChannel.

The two were talking on the phone, too, while getting the news.

“Father, I’ll leave,” Jiang Yuyan said as she hung up the call.

“I’ll come with you too,” said Lu Jinhai.

“Father needs to be home. We have an important event in the evening,” Jiang Yuyan countered.

“Others will handle it,” Lu Jinhai insisted.

Lu Lijun looked at the TV and saw the news about Lu Corporation. One of the factories had caught up the fire, and it looked like a serious incident with the number of casualties they showed.

“I’ll go there,” Lu Lijun said.

“You can’t,” Jiang Yuyan countered.

“I’m going, and that’s final.”

Lu Lijun stepped ahead to go, and Jiang Yuyan followed him and said, “My presence is needed there.”

“It can be dangerous,” said Lu Lijun as he didn’t wish her to be there.

“You can’t stop me. I’m still the boss,” Jiang Yuyan hurried to go.

The two left for the incident scene.

Till noon, Jiang Yuyan and Lu Lijun were busy at the incident site, and Lu Lijun didn’t get the chance to go to his friends. He only cared about not leaving Jiang Yuyan alone at that site though San Zemin and Xiao Min were there.

The dead bodies were taken out from the factory, and Lu Lijun was busy dealing with things along with Xiao Min as the police and reporters were there. He made sure not to let Jiang Yuyan get close to anything dangerous.

San Zemin looked at Lu Lijun and talked to Jiang Yuyan, who stood with him away from the burnt place.

“Fourth young master is responsible,” San Zemin said.

“He always was but just stubborn.”

“Seems like only stubborn people are meant to sit in the president’s chair,” San Zemin commented only to get a glare from his boss, which he ignored.

“Let’s go there,” said Jiang Yuyan as she was tired of being a bystander.

San Zemin followed her. They reached where Lu Lijun and Xiao Min stood as the injured were being carried on a stretcher to get into an ambulance.

Just as she stood beside Lu Lijun, he turned to cover her and blocked her view. “Don’t look,” he instructed. His hands held her at the shoulder, not to let her move as she faced his c.h.e.s.t.

One severely burnt dead body was being carried on the stretcher, and Lu Lijun didn’t want Jiang Yuyan to see it.

Xiao Min and San Zemin looked at each other. The reason- first, their boss could handle even the worst thing, and second, they didn’t expect Lu Lijun to be so s.e.n.s.i.t.i.v.e towards Jiang Yuyan.

“It’s fine,” said Jiang Yuyan and stepped back. “They are the people who worked for us.”

“You don’t need to be here. Xiao Min and I can handle it,” said Lu Lijun.

“You should be the one to leave this place first. Don’t you have to get ready?” Jiang Yuyan looked at her wristwatch. It’s late noon. You should leave.”

“I’m not leaving without you,” he countered.

Jiang Yuyan looked at Xiao Min, “Take care of everything.”

Xiao Min understood his boss was leaving. Lu Lijun and Jiang Yuyan left as San Zemin drove for them. On the way, Jiang Yuyan was busy answering so many calls because regarding the incident that Lu Lijun could only silently look at her.
