The next day, during breakfast, Lu Lijun was silent. It was nothing new, but he looked unusually calm and a bit disturbed.

Ning Jiahui couldn’t hold back and asked, “Lu Lijun, are you not feeling good?”

“I’m fine,” came the usual reply, which was the end of the conversation.

“Why are you so silent? Did you not sleep well?” Ning Jiahui asked.

“Can’t I eat in silence?” he replied, not even looking at his mother. His voice calms as he held back from getting angry at his mother for asking these questions when he was not in a mood to talk.

Ning Jiahui didn’t ask further and signaled the butler to serve more food to Lu Lijun, which he didn’t accept as he didn’t wish to eat anything.

In Lu corporation.

One of Lu Jinhai’s businessman friends came to the office. Jiang Yuyan’s presence was needed as the person was important through the business perspective and importnatly Lu Jinhai’s good friends just like Mr. Wen.

“How come my friend finally got the time to visit my office?” Lu Jinhai asked, smiling lightly.

The man smiled back, “You already know the reason but won’t stop mocking me.”

Lu Jinhai laughed a bit as Jiang Yuyan sat there witnessing the interaction of these two friends.

“How is president Lu?” the man asked. His eyes held respect for the woman sitting in front of him.

Jiang Yuyan greeted him back, “Everything’s fine.”

A young woman standing to one side, who seemed to be the secretary of that man, passed one beautiful card to her boss.

The man handed it over to Lu Jinhai and said, “I expect your and President Lu’s presence in my son’s wedding.”

Lu Jinhai nodded, “Of course.”

“Also, I would like it if you bring your son. It would help him get familiar with so many important people.”

Lu Jinhai nodded, “I’m glad you thought about him.”

The man smiled back, “You would have done the same if it was about my son.”

The two were good friends and always thought good for each other.

Once the man left, Lu Jinhai passed the card to Jiang Yuyan.

Jiang Yuyan checked the wedding date, and Lu Jinhai spoke, “It’s on your birthday.”

“It’s fine. Father needs to talk to Lu Lijun,” Jiang Yuyan replied.

“Is it because of Lu Lijun?” Lu Jinhai asked as he was sure Jiang Yuyan would not come to the wedding.

“Most high profile businessmen across the country would be there at the same time, so it’s a good opportunity for him,” Jiang Yuyan replied.

Lu Jinhai agreed with it, and Jiang Yuyan left.

Whatever Lu Lijun did, nothing was more important to her than him. Jiang Yuyan would do anything or break her old resolutions just for his sake. one of which was, she preferred to be away from everyone on her birthday.

No one knew, but she had some beautiful memories with Lu Qiang when they celebrated her birthday together. She wished to cherish them alone, remembering every moment clearly.

She was scared; if she won’t, all the memories would wipe out from her brain one day.

Lu Jinhai called for Lu Lijun. When he arrived at the Chairman’s office, Lu Jinhai passed him a wedding card. Sitting in the chair in front of his father, Lu Lijun opened the card.

“I wish you to attend this wedding with Yuyan and me,” Lu Jinhai informed.

Lu Lijun didn’t wish to, “I…..” just then his sight followed the date written on the card.

“Father and president Lu, both coming?” Lu Lijun asked.

“Hmm, Yuyan too wants you to join us. In fact, she is coming because of you,” Lu Jinhai informed.

“I’ll be there,” Lu Lijun agreed as he had something going on in his mind.

Finally, the day of Jiang Yuyan’s birthday was there. In the morning, everyone wished Jiang Yuyan, but like every year, there was no talk about the celebration as Jiang Yuyan didn’t want it. Also, once she left home after breakfast with the family, she never returned home till the next day.

Every year Jiang Yuyan spent her birthday alone and never celebrated it though the family members wished to do so. In the end, they just ended up wishing her normally not to go against her wish. When the person she loved was not with her, then there was no day she would like to celebrate.

When Jiang Yuyan went to the office, Xiao Min was arranging so many bouquets in the office, sent to her by people from the business world.

She glared at Xiao Min, and as usual, he ignored it, “Boss should at least know who sent all those.”

“Not like I’ll ever send them on their birthdays,” Jiang Yuyan countered and sat in her chair.

“They don’t expect it, knowing my boss is a busy person,” Xiao Min replied.

“If you are done with flattery, throw all them out,” Jiang Yuyan instructed.

Xiao Min went to Jiang Yuyan with one bouquet, and she looked at him.

He put forward the bouquet in his hand, “Happy birthday, boss.”

Starting her work, she looked at the bouquet and instructed, “Keep this one and throw others out.”

Xiao Min smiled as it was his boss’s way of accepting birthday wishes from him.

Jiang Yuyan would never throw away anything that’s given by the people important to her, and Xiao Min was one of them.

Just then, there was a knock on the door. San Zemin and the butler, Ye Bai entered the office with the flower bouquets in their hands.

They went to Jiang Yuyan and said together, “Happy birthday, boss,” and offered her bouquets.

Jiang Yuyan looked at the three bouquets in front of her and then looked at Xiao Min, “Keep these also and throw others out.”

Instructing, she frowned and mumbled, “With these many flowers around, you people are planning to suffocate me.”

These three were used to such reaction from her and smiled.

Besides Xiao Min, these two were also important for Jiang Yuyan, and she had to accept what they brought for her.

Just then, again, there was a knock on the door, and Noah entered the office with a bouquet.

Xiao Min and the other three smiled lightly, trying to hide it. Now they were eager if Jiang Yuyan would ask them to keep the flowers that Noah brought for her or she would ask to throw them out. It would decide his importance.

Noah went to Jiang Yuyan, “Happy birthday, President Lu.”

“Thank you,” she replied calmly.

Bowing her, Noah left, and Jiang Yuyan looked at the bouquet Noah left on her table.

She instructed, “Keep this one too.”

Jiang Yuyan accepted the flowers from Noah, so others understood he was important to her.

Xiao Min arranged the four bouquets on the table on one side of the room while instructing the cleaner to clear others from the office.

Accepting it only from people was her way to draw a clear line of who was important to her and who didn’t matter at all. Noah had added to the list of people important to her.

The entire day so many flower bouquets kept coming and found their way out of Jiang Yuyan’s office as they were not fortunate enough to get a glance from a cold lady.
