Lu Feng’s question caught Lu Lian off guard, but she couldn’t lie to him and nodded, saying yes.

He went towards Lu Lian, who stood closer to her bed, and said, “Is there anything you would like to tell me?”

Lu Lian pulled out a light smile as she looked at him. “It’s nothing, brother. I met Mr. Wen in his hotel, and he was worried because I had wine. He just followed to ensure if I reached home safely? He is my boss, so must be worried for me.”

“In that case, he should have dropped you in his car,” Lu Feng countered, staring at her that showed he didn’t believe her.

“I wanted to drive my car. so….” she stopped hoping his brother would stop asking more.

“Do you like him?” Lu Feng asked.

Again she was caught off guard, “Not in that sense,” she replied.

“Are you sure?” he asked.

“Hmm,” she replied, feeling not so happy about what she said.

Lu Feng nodded lightly, “Hmm… if you don’t want to meet Wen Zac, you can say directly.”

“I will,” she assured.

“Good night.” Not asking her much, Lu Feng left.

Turning off the lights, Lu Lian lay in the bed. The moment she closed her eyes, the only thing she could see was Ming Rusheng and the way he looked at her, also the kiss.

“F.u.c.k,” she opened her eyes and sat into the bed. She realized her heart beating, “This is not good.”

Just then, her cellphone beeped, and she picked it up to check the message.

Seeing the name of Ming Rusheng, she frowned and opened the message which said- “Don’t think about it. Sleep well.”

In a reflex, she threw her phone away as if it was a hot potato and looked around in the room as if he was there watching her.

Calming herself down, she picked up the phone which was near her feet, and typed. “F.u.c.k Off!”

Clicking the send button, she turned off the phone and went to sleep.

Ming Rusheng was in his room, in his bed. Remembering what happened between him and Lu Lian on that road, a content smile painted on his lips.

He picked up the phone and thought to tease her by messaging her. He was sure once she saw his message, he would get a nice reply from the angry woman.

In a while, his cellphone biped, and as expected, it was Lu Lian’s message – “F.u.c.k Off!”

Seeing the reply, he smiled as if he was satisfied with it. She was the first woman who never hesitated to show her anger to him and give him an earful.

Instead of getting angry at her, Ming Rusheng always found it amusing and liked it. Putting the phone aside, he turned to sleep, as the smile didn’t leave his lips.

As it was Sunday, Jiang Yuyan had to return to Lu Mansion at night. Also, she didn’t want Xiao Min to worry about her if she stayed in her home.

She went home late after everyone went to sleep. On the second floor, she stopped in front of Lu Lijun’s room. She knew his arm was hurt and wished to check on him.

Contemplating whether to go inside or not, she stood there for a while but then dropped the idea thinking Lu Lijun must be sleeping and she should not disturb his sleep.

Just as Jiang Yuyan was about to leave, the door of the room opened and she saw Lu Lijun standing in the door, in front of her.

He looked at her questioningly, and she looked at his arm.

He wore a half-sleeved white T-shirt, so his arm was visible to her. It looked red where it was burned and looked like he didn’t apply anything to it.

“Wait here,” she instructed him and went to her room before he could say a word.

Lu Lijun didn’t know why but this time, he didn’t have the heart to argue with her and waited for her quietly to know what she was up to.

Jiang Yuyan returned from her room with something in her hand. Lu Lijun noticed it was the ointment.

“Apply this,” she instructed, offering him to get that ointment tube from her.

“It’s fine,” he replied coldly, not willing to accept it.

Seeing he wouldn’t listen, Jiang Yuyan held his arm. This sudden action from her startled him. He wanted to pull his hand back but couldn’t do it as he stared at the woman who was busy checking where he was hurt.

He liked it; that tinge of worry in her eyes made him happy that he wanted to stand there like that only.

Holding his hand with one hand, she removed the lid of the ointment tube and got some on her finger.

“Hold it,” she instructed, and Lu Lijun got the ointment tube from her.

Carefully she applied it on his arm as he kept staring at her. She stood closer to him, felt worried for him, and he lost into it as if it was an illusion.

Jiang Yuyan finished applying ointment and let go of his hand.

Looking at the ointment tube in his hand, she instructed, “Keep it with you.”

“I don’t want to,” he offered the tube back to her.

She glared at him, “Why are you so stubborn now when you are hurt?”

“I have been hurting since long,” came the sarcastic reply from him.

She was not in a mood to argue with him and said, “Good night.”

Just as she turned, he spoke again, “President Lu, don’t forget to spy on me even when I go on a date. Shouldn’t President Lu respect my privacy?”

She turned to look at him, “If you want to stop me, then get the power in your hand.”

“I’m just concerned that President Lu might not like to see the pictures showing I’m intimate with a girl.”

“As long as you are safe.” Saying she turned to leave.

Lu Lijun saw her going into her room and then looked at his arm, where she applied an ointment.

“I should have hurt badly. These small burns and scratches won’t do.”

Sighing, he returned to the room and lay in the bed, looking at the arm where she held it. Her mildly warm palm’s touch was still fresh on his skin, and he could feel it.

Her soft and delicate palms, holding his strong arm, was the sight to see. He subconsciously smiled, remembering it, which he didn’t realize.

When Jiang Yuyan returned home, Lu Lijun saw her from his room’s gallery. He couldn’t sleep because she was not home yet, and he knew she returned every Sunday night.

Once he saw her finally return, Lu Lijun could calculate how much time it would take for her to reach the second floor. As expected, he heard footsteps in the corridor, but suddenly the sound stopped in front of his room.

He thought he was mistaken, but there was no sound of a person walking ahead. To make sure, he opened the door, only to see Jiang Yuyan standing in front of his room’s door.

Though he somewhere expected to see her already, he showed as if he was surprised to see her there.
