Jake sighed, “Tell me the truth. Are you having that kind of thoughts these days?”

“What kind of question is this?” Lu Lijun asked.

“You keep talking boldly with me and act shamelessly. That’s so unlike you,” Jake answered.

“I was always like this,” Lu Lijun countered.

“What kind of thoughts were you talking about?” suddenly, someone interrupted them.

Noah came out of his room, drying his wet hair with a small towel, and he heard what Jake asked Lu Lijun.

Jake looked at Noah, “Our celibate boy has changed to have an a.d.u.l.t kind of thoughts now.”

Noah smiled, “Good to know,” and went towards the refrigerator to get water for himself.

Lu Lijun glared at Jake and spoke in a low voice, “Seeing the scenario here, I can imagine what kind of thoughts you must have every day.”

“I wish I could get those thoughts to reality,” Jake mumbled that only Lu Lijun could hear.

“Who stopped you?”

“My wife is not obedient,” Jake replied.

Just then, Noah stepped towards where his friends sat, carrying one water bottle, and the two stopped talking.

Noah threw one bottle at Lu Lijun, which he caught, “Thank you,” and opened the bottle lid to drink the water.

Sitting on the sofa, Noah observed Lu Lijun, “Did you go on a date?”

COUGH!! COUGH!!

Lu Lijun ended up spurting out the water in his mouth as he coughed.

“Really?” Noah asked again, not minding how his friend was.

Jake patted Lu Lijun’s back to help him stop coughing.

“Cough!…It was not a date,” Lu Lijun spoke.

Noah sighed, “I thought so. But at least you and Pre…..”

“Noah, pass me the tissue paper,” Jake interrupted him.

Noah stopped talking, and Jake looked at Lu Lijun as he instructed firmly, “Explain.”

“Mr. Wen’s daughter. I went to meet her,” Lu Lijun informed.

Noah almost ended up saying he and president Lu but then got to know Lu Lijun went with someone else. Noah felt relieved that Jake interrupted him.

Looking at Jake, Noah spoke, “See, I told you at the party. Lu Lijun’s potential match.”

Jake nodded and then turned again to Lu Lijun, “Just meeting or….”

“I just went to meet her?” Lu Lijun clarified.

“Why?” Jake asked again.

“Just,” came the one-word reply, which was the end of any further discussion.

“This guy is up to something again,” Noah commented.

Lu Lijun didn’t react, and the two friends understood they were right.

“Don’t do anything that you will regret later,” Jake warned.

Lu Lijun again didn’t react to it, and his friend looked at each other, feeling worried about him.

Jiang Yuyan went to her home where San Zemin and Xiao Min were already present in the living room.

She sat on the sofa as the other two bowed to her.

San Zemin passed her the tablet and sat on the sofa next to Xiao Min, opposite his boss.

Jiang Yuyan looked through the pictures on the tablet, which showed what Lu Lijun did since he left home, Lu Lijun with Liwei in the car, in the cafe.

The pictures from the cafe caught her attention where it showed how Lu Lijun protected Liwei.

“Is he hurt?” Jiang Yuyan asked.

“Doesn’t seem serious,” San Zemin replied.

Keeping the tablet aside, she asked, “Did you talk to the driver?”

Jiang Yuyan referred to Lu Qiang’s car driver, who got hurt in the accident, and Lu Lijun talked to him a month back.

San Zemin nodded, “He only talked as much he was instructed to, but…”

“But what?”

“Fourth young master suddenly asked him about someone out of China that was involved in it, or the previous boss had the grudges with,” San Zemin explained.

“Is he looking for a person from the USA?” Jiang Yuyan asked.

“Looks like it because out from China, those people from the USA were involved in it.”

“But how did he reach this? There is no mention of anyone from the USA. Other than us, no one knows, not even the police,” Jiang Yuyan asked.

“Even I’m surprised,” San Zemin replied.

“If he can find out this, then it won’t be long he will find out everything,” Xiao Min commented.

Jiang Yuyan was aware of it too.

“Block any information that could lead him to that person,” Jiang Yuyan ordered. “Also, he should not know about Xi Cheng.”

“Yes, boss.”

Talking about a few other things, Jiang Yuyan asked them to leave. San Zemin got up to go while Xiao Min didn’t look like he would leave.

She glared at him, “It’s weekend. Don’t let your family blame me for keeping their precious son away from them.”

“They understand my job,” Xiao Min countered.

Jiang Yuyan turned colder, “Should I ask Ms. Song Meilin to call assistant Li back so that you can be busy there and spare me?”

Xiao Min turned speechless while San Zemin smiled lightly.

Jiang Yuyan knew that mentioning Shen Li was the only solution to get rid of Xiao Min.

Jiang Yuyan continued, “You can’t trouble him, so you prefer to boss around me. Give me a day break from you.”

Xiao Min agreed and left with San Zemin.

The butler was standing there to wait if Jiang Yuyan needed anything.

Not looking at him, she spoke, “Today, don’t need to act as Xiao Min’s spy.”

The butler understood that she didn’t want anyone to disturb her and left after bowing to her.

San Zemin and Xiao Min came to the cars.

“You look worried,” San Zemin asked.

“Seems like fourth young master will soon bring a trouble and destroy all the efforts of the boss to keep everything at the place,” Xiao Min replied.

San Zemin agreed, “All her efforts to keep him safe and away from everything will go in vain if he digs everything again.”

Xiao Min sighed, “He will only end up hurting himself and the boss. We can’t even tell him; all she did was for his sake.”

San Zemin patted Xiao Min’s shoulder as he felt the same.

Xiao Min looked at San Zemin helplessly, “You know it too, the only person who matters to her is him, and she did everything to protect him.”

“We all know it,” San Zemin answered.

Xiao Min continued, “She is holding strong just because of him. There is a reason why she is cold with him. I want to tell him everything, but it will only worsen the situation. He doesn’t even know what she is going through.”

San Zemin could only listen to it to let his heart out.

“Xiao Min, we know if he is angry, then he is right. He did nothing wrong to go through all,” San Zemin commented.

“I know. I can understand his situation but…These days, I feel like telling him everything. I want him not to trouble her anymore. She had enough already.”

“Don’t do anything. You know you can’t tell him. He is not only important to the boss but to us also. He is Lu Qiang’s brother, his everything,” San Zemin warned.

“I know, that’s the reason which always stops me. Whatever he does, all I can do is to protect him.”

“I’m worried about the boss. What if, because of him, what we are hiding from her comes out.”

Hearing it, Xiao Min turned even restless, “Don’t say it. It’s your job to stop him.”

San Zemin assured, “I will. Let’s leave now.”

The two left with the worry for their boss and her efforts of all these years.
