Three men from the Ming family reached Lu Mansion. Elder Lu was already waiting for them as his friend had already informed him.

Elder Lu waited for them at the entrance of the Lu mansion. The moment a black luxury car entered the Lu Mansion, the elder Lu couldn’t help but smile widely.

Ming Rusheng stepped out of the car from the driver’s side and opened the door of the back passenger seat to help his grandpa step out of the car.

Elder Lu came to them, “Seems like you are so old now that you have to get your grandson’s help.”

“It’s just that I don’t want to take away his privilege to do something for his grandpa. Also, I feel good when he does this,” elder Ming replied.

“That’s true,” elder Lu agreed and looked at Ming Rusheng, “You are a good grandson.”

Ming Rusheng was not used to such praises and kept quiet, smiling lightly to greet elder Lu.

Ming Yusheng greeted elder Lu and went to Lu Jinhai and Lu Chen, who were there too.

They all went inside where Lu Feng came, and Lu Han came downstairs to meet elder Ming.

They greeted elder Ming and Ming Yusheng wholeheartedly, but with Ming Rusheng, it was just a formality.

The three knew why it was like that, and it made Ming Rusheng realize what he thought all along was right. Because of his past actions, things wouldn’t be easy, knowing how much these brothers loved Lu Lian.

Despite the fact and knowing he couldn’t be with Lu Lian, Ming Rusheng couldn’t stop himself from coming there.

As they sat on the sofa, the younger generation sat on one side of the rectangular sofa, and the older ones sat on the other side.

Though these young people had come across each other during Several family gatherings after Mings and Lu’s got together, they were still not in the comfort zone with each other.

“How is everything going?” finally Lu Feng asked, breaking the awkward silence.

“It’s good,” Ming Rusheng answered, “The current project is a hectic one.”

“The one with the business park?” Lu Feng asked.

“Hmm,” Ming Rusheng nodded.

“Isn’t Lu corporation investing in it too? It’s like a current hot topic.” Lu Han commented.

Ming Rusheng nodded, “Most of the big companies are involved.”

Things seemed normal between them with this talk, but there was still time for them to accept each other comfortably.

Just then, they heard the elder Ming, “How is Lu Lian? We are here to see her.”

“Doctor is here to visit her. She would be here soon,” Ning Jiahui replied.

Though Ming Rusheng maintained stern expressions, the two brothers could see the momentary change in the Ming Rusheng’s expressions the moment they heard about Lu Lian. They were sure that Ming Rusheng was there to see Lu Lian or there was no reason for him to be in Lu Mansion as he hardly came there when there was any special occasion.

Just then, Jiang Yuyan came downstairs. She went to Elder Ming.

“Good afternoon, grandpa.”

Elder Ming smiled at her, “How are you, dear? Come sit with your grandpa.”

Jiang Yuyan did so as she greeted Ming Yusheng too. Her sight followed Ming Rusheng. It was not the first time they came across each other. There were countless moments in the business when they had to come across each other and talk professionally.

Jiang Yuyan greeted him by nodding lightly, and Ming Rusheng did the same. The past incident seemed like it didn’t matter to Jiang Yuyan, and it was the thing to feel relieved about for the two Lu brothers.

“I didn’t see your youngest grandson. Where is he?” Elder Ming asked.

“He went out and would be here soon,” Ning Jiahui replied.

The Doctor came downstairs once he was done with checking on Lu Lian.

“How is she doing now?” Lu Jinhai asked.

“Nothing to worry about. Just keep her away from anything exhausting as she is weak. I mean, she needs to rest more,” the Doctor replied.

Talking for a while, the Doctor left. Elder Ming looked at his grandson. “Did you hear it, Rusheng? Don’t let her work at all.”

“Yes, grandpa,” he replied calmly.

Lu Lijun was outside and returned in a while. The moment he entered the home, he saw the guests, and one of them were not welcomed in his mind.

“You are back, finally. Grandpa Ming wanted to meet you,” said Lu Jinhai.

Elder Ming was elder Lu’s best friend and Jiang Yuyan’s maternal grandfather, so this much reason was enough to greet elder Ming with respect.

He saw Jiang Yuyan sitting next to elder Ming and went to them.

“As usual handsome like my friend,” elder Ming commented and elder Lu smiled widely.

Lu Lijun sat beside Jiang Yuyan straight away, though there was a space for him to sit with his brothers, and he could be a part of the three young men sitting together.

“I hope you remember Ming Rusheng?” asked Lu Jinhai.

“No, I don’t,” came the calm but cold reply from Lu Lijun that left his father a bit speechless.

“How can he remember Rusheng when he didn’t meet him and was away from here,” Elder Ming said and eased the situation.

“True,” elder Lu added.

Lu Feng and Lu Han sat quietly as they knew Lu Lijun did it on purpose.

Ming Rusheng didn’t mind it, as he already sensed the hostility from Lu Lijun and stayed silent.

Even when Lu Lijun was a kid, Ming Rusheng sensed the same thing from him and thought, ‘As expected of Lu Qiang’s brother.’

Anyway, Ming Rusheng was there to check on Lu Lian, so nothing mattered to him.

In a while, Lu Lian came downstairs to meet elder Ming. She felt weak, but she could manage to get out of her room.

Lu Lian sat beside her grandma and opposite elder Ming and Ming Yusheng while elder Lu sat with his wife.
