MRS RÓDRÍGUÉZ - EPISODE 63 AND 64

The queen stared at her husband who laid pale on his sick bed.
She held his hand and felt it’s thin warmth.

He stared coldly at her and finally spoke out.

“You have to go back to the Scotland. Something tells me you are needed ”

“I feel it too. It keeps calling me home. But I can’t leave you here by yourself. ”

The king breath low.

“You and I know I will not come out of this alive. It is my time. But what is more important is what lies ahead. You need to go back and oversee what goes on in the palace. Audrielle will soon turn 21 .. and you know what that means.”

Lady Castel let her tears fall freely.

She nodded vigorously kissing his cold hands.

She wouldn’t want to lose anyone too.

“You need to return back soon. Please,.. the palace needs you there”.. he added. His voice worn out.

“I will return in two days time please. At Least Allow me spend little time with you. Please my Lord”.. she wept bitterly

The king wasn’t recovering from his ailment.

The herbs can’t seem to improve his health. He deteriorate every single day.

“Two days” he stated.

“Two days” she nodded back in response.

“Leave us”..
Lord Ashton waved them off immediately. They nodded and walked out. Leaving just the two inside.

Lord Ashton walked over to old Esme who sat helplessly on the floor.
He helped her up.

” Come have a seat with me”.. he requested rather kindly.

Old Esme Breathe hard as he led her to a free seat.

They both sat, facing each other.

“Do you want anything to drink, or eat?… You must be thirsty or something”.. he added.

Old Esme stared bluntly at him. His kind gesture crawled on her skin. She doesn’t really know who he is but she felt really uncomfortable about his strange kindness.

He didn’t have some people drag her down here just to have a drink, did he?

“You definitely won’t ignore the part where I was dragged down here like a criminal. …” She spoke out, rather bittered.

“Forgive their manners, please” .. he quickly apologized, pouring some wine into a glass cup.

“Drink with me” he offered a cup to old Esme but she shook her head.

“What do you want with me?.. if it’s about the union with the prince, then I’m not supposed to be here cause I know nothing about it. ” She looked away with a hard frown.

Lord Ashton chuckled lightly. Staring at the old woman with an unexplainable expression.

He gulped down the wine into his stomach.

He cleared his throat and opened his mouth to speak.

” Many years ago, when the prince of Scotland was very young and my daughter was newly born. I came to the king and his wife, the queen with a peaceful treaty. It was settled that my daughter would one day grow up to marry his highness.. the bond would strengthen the relationship between both families and off course, be of a great benefit to me too. “.. he paused.

Then continued.. ” but three years after that. I received a letter from the household saying the agreement we had has been nullified and there will no longer be any courtship or marriage with the seeds of both families. I didn’t know why. I haven’t wrong them at all. So, I shook it off like nothing,.. years after years I hoped for the prince to come of age..”..

He got up from his seat.

“But everything backfired. The prince got married to someone else instead. Leaving me out of the picture. I would have left the issue the way it is but I got even more curious and angry when I got to know his chosen bride was nothing, but a lowlife filthy commoner. That alone brought a slap to my face!!”

He spat out in disgust. Obviously angry.

“Maybe his chosen bride had something better to offer the Royal household”.
Old Esme retorted.

“What can a daughter of a nobody! The daughter of a common fisher. What can she possibly offer that would be greater than what I had to give?… The Royal household left me wounded. I had my full hope on the Rodriguez! I trained my daughter for this single reason.. I trained her as a future queen! But I received a slap on my face instead. I want to know why!. I want to know why.

Because I do not think anybody as the king or queen would be foolish enough to reject such great offer from me for a commoner’s daughter!. I demand answers to that question. If I can get a good answer to my burning question, then Maybe, just maybe I would let this matter sleep before me. ”

He exhaled sharply.

Old Esme felt speechless for a while.
” I guess the queen and the king had change of plans three years after the arrangements , that’s why you received a letter from them,.. but you took it as though it’s nothing. Nobody offended you. You just didn’t heed to what the letter said,.. you were ignorant. The king neither his wife is to be blamed for this.”

Lord Ashton clenched his jaw.
He swiftly turned to old Esme.

“You know something old woman. My servant wasn’t wrong. The way you sound so bold to reply in the king’s defense, you surely know something. If I were you, I will speak now. ”

His voice came out hard and rough.

” What if I know something?. It still won’t change the fact that the prince is already married to someone else” she replied instead.

Lord Ashton bent low to her level.
“No, it won’t change anything but at least, it’ll make me have a rethink to whatever plan I am hatching for that family. I am the prime minister of this land,.. you can imagine the sort of power I command. ” He smirked, evily.

The old lady swallowed hard.

“You promise to have a rethink if I tell you. ”

“Yes. I promise. ”

“You also promise to stay off the Royal family too. ”

“Yes.. ” he grunted.

“Okay. ” Old Esme nodded. “I will tell you what you need to hear. I will tell you everything. ”

Lord Ashton smiled, returning back to his seats.

“It is indeed true you had an agreement to join your daughter in marriage with the Scottish prince many years ago… But every plan changed because something happened. Something that involved life and death. “..

She paused, then swallowed hard.

“… There was a witch. A witch with a very dark Magic..”

Lord Ashton laughed hard for a long while, before his face suddenly turned into a frown.

“Do I look like a clown to you?.. this is not an issue of jokes. Everyone knows dark Magic and witches were purged from this land many many decades ago by the rulers of this land. So why do you have to bring the Matter of magic and witches. ?”..

“Do not jump into conclusions already. Just listen to what I have to say. For I speak nothing but the truth.”..

Lord Ashton kept mute and listened instead.

“Long before The Rodriguez came into power, this land used to be ruled by witches. The reign of witches stopped during the time of the Red and white witches-Gueneviere and sapphire. The twin witches of our great mother, Elphata.”

” Do not speak to me of witches tales. Rather I need the reason to the prince marriage with a commoner. “.. he sounded impatient. Cutting old Esme from her speech.

Old Esme breathe hard. ” The land is cursed. ” Her voice came out rather low.

“What do you mean, cursed? How?”

” before the death of the evil red witch, she placed a curse on the next line to take over the throne after her.

The red witch was a friend to no one. She was wicked to even the sucklings. and she had to be brought down from ruling the land after the death of her mother, elphata. Gueneviere the red witch’s plan was to rule after her mother’s death, for she was greatly evil and had no pity on anymore.her heart was as dark as darkness itself and it brought great fear to the land if paradventure she mounts the throne. Her sister the white witch had no interest in the throne for she had no strength to battle with her sister for it …. So,it was decided to pass it on to the humans instead for peace to reign. A coup was planned against the red witch.
For she wasn’t ready to go down without a fight.

The red witch was bounded and brought down. Her powers taken away from her before she was killed.

But right before she died, she succeeded in placing a curse on the sixth generation of The next lineage that will ascend the throne. Her throne.

The curse was to bring death upon the crowned prince and alongside, great evil and darkness upon the land that no cure would be rendered to save the land.

Her spell was too powerful that no power around the world could nullify it, not even her twin sister, the white witch. For no one could measure to her black Magic.

She was successfully brought down and the land was finally purged from the evil that polluted it. Sapphire gave up the throne to a worthy warrior,.. A man called Rodriguez. It was then the war and enmity ended. For the land was cleansed from any kind of magic.

Sapphire disappeared and no one saw her. But still, everyone feared the day to come. The day the red witch’s curse will finally prevail and the future of Scotland will become nothing but darkness.

The first, to fifth generation passed. The sixth generation had to be the present one with Antonio.

Everyone had forgotten about the curse and magic itself. Even the king had forgotten too. For it has been very very long and the land was peaceful without war.

I used to work in the palace then. I served as a maid to the queen.i and other maidens.

Six years after the prince was born, a stranger visited the land. A lady who requested to see the king.

The strange lady happened to be the white witch sapphire. She came because she could feel the curse very strong upon the land.

A curse everyone had almost forgotten about. She reminded the king and his household. The prince’s life was at stake. The throne and the land. Nobody was safe at all.

Sapphire renewed the memory of the king and they became aware of the curse.

“My sister’s curse is stronger than anybond in this world. No power on Earth can destroy the curse. Not even me. For I can not measure to such power she possessed. Her Magic is too dark and powerful for me.. “..

Those were her words which caused fear in the king.

“But… The curse can be prevented. ”
That word caused a relief in the king’s heart.

There was a solution after all.

” A child will be born in this palace in the next full moon. One of your servants will bear the child, you shall call her Audrielle. Meaning ‘Strength’ .. she has the cure to this land. She will be married to the young prince. Their union will prevent the curse. “..

She had said that faithful day and her words brought great joy to the king.

Just like she had said, the next full moon, the butler’s wife put to bed a baby girl. She was named Audrielle. But the joy ceased after three nights to her birth. Something happened…

It seemed like the curse on the land had ears. For it caused Audrielle her life. She fell greatly sick on the third night.

There was a great wail. The king called the greatest medicine man. The greatest healers to come save the child, but no one could do anything. The force around the child’s life was too powerful. It was the enemy at work.

On the fifth night, Audrielle died. The baby died and the palace was torn in great grief. But just like a miracle, the white witch visited that same night.

She Came with a cure. But not a permanent one. The baby was revived back to life.

” This cure will not last for long. She should be joined in Union with the prince , for she has to produce an heir to the throne before her 21st birthday. If she births a child before her 21st birthday, then she will be saved alongside the prince. And the curse will have no effect on the land, forever.

But if it’s delayed, if there is no child before then, then I must say to you that this cure will fade and she will die … Her death will incure the curse back on the land. The prince will die later on and the land will be cursed back with dark Magic.. bringing the red witch back in power.”

Those were her words.
Audrielle was revived that night and that same night, the queen wrote a letter to you to further nullify every arrangement made with the prince and your daughter.

Now you see what lies at stake.

Now you know why things never worked out as planned.

Audrielle isn’t just a commoner. She is the hope and future of Scotland.

She alone is the key to our Happy ending.
Her existence brings death to the Red witch.

The witches might be a myth, but the tales are true. This land used to harbor witches like Gueneviere ,.. we are not safe yet till there is a child from the Rodriguez.

You have your answer now.
Let them be. … This is for the future of the land.

The curse must not prevail”.
