“I’m really sorry”

Audrielle didn’t know how, but this voice felt so genuine.

“I’m really sorry. I know you hate me but please, hear me out”

Her face was still against his chest. She didn’t know what to say or feel at the moment. She just stood numb.

” I was so angry, I didn’t know you were still untouched. I wouldn’t have taken you in such manner . I’m sorry”

Audrielle pulled herself away from him immediately. The displeased look on her face couldn’t be hidden.

“Even if I were to be touched or not, does it amount the kind of consumation we had? You mentally took charge of my body without mercy. Despite my pleas, my tears, nothing moved you. You had your Dominion over me. I would have died,.. I would have died from the pain and wickedness you showed me that night. I have done nothing wrong to my prince. I did not mean to get stucked with you in this marriage. I didn’t mean to take you away from your woman, your happiness… If that’s the reason for this uncalled anger towards me, then I’m deeply sorry for I am the most affected here.

Do you really think you’re the only one entitled to happiness?

“These past days, I’ve lived with so much guilt Audrielle. I’m ready to make amends, I let my anger get the best of me and I’m sorry,.. ”

Audrielle stared unbelievably at him.
” Has there ever been a time you were happy with me?.. what did I ever do to warrant this much anger you show to me! What did I ever do! ”

“You do not understand,… I,.. I was fooled. I let a guard fool me.. I let Alex fool me I didn’t know it was planned.. I was told you’ve been going out to see someone,.. I believed because, you were always going out and coming back late. I got so angry and thought of nothing else but another man railing his hands over you when we haven’t even consumated”

Audrielle scoffed in disbelief.

“And then as a punishment, you decided to take me without mercy,.. not even some proper questions to know if the allegations were true!. What’s there to change?.. I still got the punishment at the end!..”
She sniffed, bitterly.

” I really have to go now” she wiped her eyes with her back palm.

She couldn’t bear standing before him. It was making her cry more.

She dragged her feets towards the door.
He wanted to stop her but he just didn’t know how.

He watched her Walked out. Snapping the door shut.

” You really have to calm down princess. ”
Tarsia helped her wailing friend to the bed after listening to her explanation.

“I guess that’s why he got so angry and sent her away. ” Tarsia added. It’s all falling in place now.
“What if he’s really sorry Audrielle?.. these past few days he hasn’t been himself. I can assure you that he’s felt so much guilt and wasn’t at all happy for a minute you laid unconscious on your bed. Did I tell you he almost had the head of his guard?”..

Audrielle’s brow furrowed. She stared in disbelief at her friend. “Why?”

“I guess it has something to do with what happened to you. He just told you he was deceived by Alex and a guard. When he got to know the truth about your innocence, he drove the two out of the palace. Who would believe he’d send Alex away for your sake? ”

Audrielle sighed out tiredly, she relaxed more on the bed. “, I do not know what to believe anymore Tarsia’, It hurts Alot. ”

” I understand you Audrielle, but what I’m trying to say is, if the prince tells you he’s sorry for what happened, then trust me, he really is. ”

Audrielle was silent for a while. He blinked back the tears that threatened to fall.
