MRS RÓDRÍGUÉZ - EPISODE 55
“She’s gone your highness”.
The guard reported to the prince.
He waved him off without a word. He knows.
He saw everything from up here. Through his window. She’s gone for good. But that was the least on his mind now.
“Get me the healer”.
He said as he hovered round the princess.
**
“Why isn’t she waking up? I watched her all night without a dim, there was no movement, no sign that she’ll wake up soon, just her faint breathing. What is happening? Are you no longer the best healer in Glasgow?”..
He sounded angry.
But his anger was channeled to himself.
He was angry with himself and no one else. Sending Alex away or even Leith didn’t do justice to his conscience,
The heavy guilt he was carrying in his heart still lingered.
“My Lord…” The healer started.
“The herbs I applied on her as a daily treatment puts her more into sleep… And
Antonio’s gaze fixed on her immediately.
“What is she now,? A sleeping beauty?.. I want her healed and awake. Not asleep”.
The old healer gave a frail smile even when the look on Antonio’s face didn’t look funny.
” My Lord, the herbs makes her sleep in other to help heal her injured parts. It’s more effective while she’s asleep so there would be no objection to her treatment. Once she finally wakes, she’ll be whole again. No more internal or external pains. She’ll be good as new. All you need is patience, my Lord. For she is doing just fine.”.. .
The old lady assured.
Antonio breathe low, his hand caressing his chin restlessly.
“How many more days, does she have to remain like this?”
He asked. His voice was rather impatient.
“A day, or two my Lord”..
He had the urge to freak out but he rather maintained. A day or two sounded okay, But with a proper factorization, it counted 24/48 hours. To him, it looked more like a death wish.
It wouldn’t be proper to Start nagging at the old lady,.. like she said, all he required now is a little patience. .. a little patience to start counting the minutes that makes up these hours. .

“Okay”. He nodded, as if satisfied.
The healer smiled.
The way she smiled, one might think smiling was her hobby.
She moved closer to the sleeping princess and began applying the necessary herbs.
**
That day became the longest for Antonio. He walked about aimlessly, the day looked like it wasn’t going to end.
It seemed like the clock stopped ticking and the sun refused to set.
Countless times he shut his eyes for sleep just to wake up and see no difference in the day.
It was the longest day he had ever experienced and to him, it was a torment.
He never knew the palace could be this queit. Even the birds that do chirp their songs at noon were absent. It was awfully queit that day. And when night finally came, he retired to the chamber without dinner. He’s had nothing to eat since morning, and he certainly has no appetite.
He retired to his room and sat beside Audrielle. This time, he didn’t restrict himself from placing his hand on hers. He couldn’t help it.
He held on to her in that manner till he slept off.

Alex limped into an old abandoned cottage that night. She was stranded and really tired.
The house smelled of dust showing it’s been long it was abandoned.
This should keep her for tonight. She thought within as she lit up a light with Firestones.
She was lucky to see a lamp. She lit it up too and darted her eyes round the house.
It was dark and cold outside, … her legs were hurting. Her stomach rumbled in hunger. She has been moving about aimlessly all day for shelter with a bruised leg that she forgot she needed to eat.
She can manage the night with hunger till the next morning it’s a good thing she has some money with her . All she needed now was to treat her leg.
She moved round the house with a lighted lamp in her hand. There was an old rag on a wooden chair, she took it and cut it to bits.
She tied a part round her bruised ankle and heated it with the lamp. She dusted a part of the ground and laid on it.
For tomorrow, she’ll begin what Antonio started.
