Waking up the next morning, Liz tried to recall what exactly had happened the night before that had caused her to fall asleep on her bed without even removing her shoes.

Her memory was clear up to the point where she had signed the agreement for Xander Sylvex, but after that, all she remembered was being overwhelmed by her emotions which had caused her to run to her room.

Yet, now that she thought about it, a face popped up in her mind, making her gasp even while she groggily got up from the bed and looked around.

Wait…her boss had been in her room?!

Almost by instinct, Liz looked at the bed, half afraid that she would find him there.

Although she knew that it was very unlikely, Hollywood had taught her that things like these always had a high chance of happening when the heroine was sad.

Chuckling to herself at the thought of calling herself a heroine, Liz froze as she saw a note on the bedside.

She was more awake by now, so she didn’t foolishly think again that the CEO might have slept here then left a note before making an exit.

After all, her clothes were untouched except for the wrinkles from sleeping all night in them,

Still, she found it very weird that he had even followed her. Why had he come? Was it to hand her something?

As Liz got up and prepared to walk to the bedside to pick up the note, she finally remembered that moment during the night when she had vomited out all the information about one of her deepest, darkest secrets to someone who was almost a complete stranger.

‘LIZ! WOW! THIS TOPS IT!’

Even as the voice inside her started to scream hysterically at this realization, she picked up the note which read “Breakfast@plane, 8 am.”

Looking at the clock on the side, Liz almost jumped in the air on seeing that she only had 20 minutes until the appointed time.

With everything else flying out of her mind, she ran to the bathroom and immediately started to multitask.

As a regular slacker who loved to sleep when it was possible for her to, Liz had made her own technique of getting ready fast over the years.

The shower was switched on, and she had a brush in her mouth while her hands hastily scrubbed her body.

After the hasty bath, she removed the shower cap and started to comb her hair which had gotten many tangles inside it due to not being rolled up before she had fallen asleep.

While she finished this and scrambled for the towel to dry herself and put on fresh clothes, a common scene from movies couldn’t help but appear in her mind.

A drunk woman being escorted to her room by the boyfriend, who only removed her shoes and tucked her into a blanket before leaving.

Obviously, the CEO wasn’t her boyfriend, but she sighed dreamily as she imagined him doing the same.

‘Uh…Liz? Miss. Professional?’

‘A girl can dream, OK! It was just a stupid fantasy!’

This was how her mind usually went erratic whenever she was rushing too much.

Arguing with herself like so but dispelling the image and wondering why it had come in the first place, Liz reached the door at the exact moment that someone knocked on it.

A half hour later, Liz found herself in another awkward silence with the CEO, who was sitting in front of her on the private plane that had just taken off.

The table between them had a host of breakfast items, but none of them had touched the food yet.

Since the moment that she had come onto the plane, it had almost seemed as if the CEO was avoiding her eyes.

Also, she didn’t know If she was imagining it, but he felt like he was…awkward.

True, Liz also felt awkward at having exposed such a personal thing, but it was nowhere close to this drastic change in the man whose reactions were becoming more and more enigmatic with each passing day.

Why had he even come into her room? Till when had he stayed? Had he given any response to her story? And why was he awkward now?

Deciding to ask at least one of these questions, Liz opened her mouth, but she heard the CEO speak first, making her swallow and look at him with wide open eyes.

“How do you feel?”
