ME AND MY DADDI - Season 4 Episode 11
Patrick steered Eve into the office after dinner was finished. “Why don’t you find a book or watch TV while I get a bit of work done?”
“I can get out of your hair. I don’t want to be a bother.”
He used the side of one finger to tilt her head back. “That will never happen, little girl. I like being able to look up and see you wherever we are.”
She trailed her fingers down his cheek and smiled. “Then, I’ll just look through the books.”
“Good,” Patrick said and pressed a hard kiss to her mouth.
He sat behind his desk and went through his correspondence. He glanced around for her and saw her studying his bookshelf as her hand tried to smooth down her hair.
“Why did your father cut your hair, baby?”
She swung around and then blushed. “He said I was playing with it and thought it was a sign of vanity, so after his sermon one day, he pulled me into his office and chopped it off. It hurt. The scissors he used were dull and not meant to cut hair. I think he was probably right. I loved my hair. It was the only thing about myself I did like, and now it’s gone.”
“Come here.”
She walked around his desk and let him pull her onto his lap.
“You could be bald and still be the most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen.”
She shook her head.
“I know you don’t believe me, but I hope someday soon you will. I hate the fact he did that to you, but you will never have to put up with him again as long as you live.”
She tucked her head under his chin. “I hope not. He’s a hard, angry man.”
He combed his fingers through her silky blonde hair. “We can do something to even out your hair until it can grow out.”
“Really?”
He smiled. “Yes, I’ll get in touch with Darian and see if he knows of a place.”
“I’d like that. Thank you.”
He pressed a kiss to the top of her head and lifted her out of his lap. “Give me thirty minutes, and then we can watch another movie before bedtime.”
She nodded and turned back to the books.
He sent out an email and got the name of a day spa that would take care of his girl. Darian even promised to have Larkin and Brylee there so they could have a girl day.
Patrick and Darian messaged back and forth about how Eve and her mom took the news and what their next step would be after letting the two visit the next day.
He closed down his computer and stood. “Are you ready?”
Eve turned to him, nodded, and closed the book she’d been looking through before sliding it back on the shelf.
He led her into the TV room, and they picked a short movie about a dog trying to find his way home. A smile crossed his face when he heard Eve sniff a few times. He liked that she had a tender heart.
After a bit, he glanced at the clock. “We should get to bed. We have an early day, and I’m sure it will be an emotional one, also.”
She nodded.

Patrick and Eve climbed the stairs hand and hand. Patrick moved them past his room and into hers.
“Go ahead and get ready for bed. I’ll be back in a bit. Why don’t you pick out a book you’d like to read tonight?”
Eve nodded and watched him walk out of the room. She had an overwhelming urge to chase after him and beg him not to leave, but there was still a fear that if she pushed too much, he’d want her out of his life. The thought of never seeing him again made her soul physically ache.
She showered, dressed in a nightgown, and brushed her teeth. She was looking through the books on her shelf when Patrick walked back in. Her gaze roamed over him. He was wearing sleep pants again and nothing else, so she was able to take in his masculine beauty.
He snorted when he caught her staring.
“Find a book, baby.”
She watched him get comfortable on her bed before she grabbed the closest book and jumped up onto the mattress.
He read the title and then glanced at her.
“Do you realize which book you chose?”
She shook her head. “No, I just grabbed one. What is it?”
“It’s an erotic book about a young girl in the eighteenth century when she comes of age. She’s pushed into a marriage with a man, but when she goes to meet him at his home, his family seduces her. The father, mother, sister, and uncle teach her everything she needs to know about sex. It’s very erotic.”
“Should I pick out something else?” Eve asked.
“Not if you don’t want to.”
She cuddled up against him. “Let’s read this.”
He cleared his throat.
“On a cold December day on the North side of England…”
She heard the tremor in his voice get more pronounced as the book’s content heated, and Eve was unable to stay still against him. Her need for him built, making her panties wet and her breasts tender.
He closed the book. “I think that’s enough for tonight.”
She sat up as he maneuvered himself off the mattress and set the book on the nightstand.
He tugged her down until she was lying on her pillow and then brought the blanket up to her chin. He bent and placed a kiss on her forehead. “Good night, baby. Yell if you need me.”
She watched him walk away with a sinking heart. He couldn’t have been more obvious, wanting to get away from her. He had practically run from the room. The fact that her body throbbed with a desire she didn’t understand made the situation worse.
Had she done something wrong? Did he not want her around anymore? She listened to the shower next door as it turned on again. Her ears followed his progress until everything went silent. She tried to close her eyes and rest, but the ball of hunger deep in her gut wouldn’t let her relax, and she didn’t know how to get it to go away so she could fall asleep.
She knew a bit about desire. She remembered a teacher talking about in her sex education class. But what she was experiencing was unlike anything she’d ever heard about. Maybe something was wrong with her? Maybe she should see a doctor? A thought filled her head and made dread take away the other feeling. Was her father right? Did she have the devil in her? The idea made her sick. If it was true, she shouldn’t be around other people. What if it rubbed off on them somehow?
She got more agitated until she shook uncontrollably. She threw back the covers and raced into Patrick’s bedroom. She stopped suddenly at the bottom of his bed.
