“Huh”, I said.

“Even though you’re my mate, I know that what I feel for you is very and if I’m right that is love. Snowflake I can’t hide it anymore, I love you so much”, Zamiel confessed.

I smiled widely knowing that he feels the same way I feel for him.

“I love you too soo much”, I said happily.

“You do?”, he asked and I nodded continuously smiling.

“You don’t know how happy I am to hear this. I promise to take care of you and protect you”, he promised pulling me into a tight hug.

We stayed like that for a while then Zamiel pulled out from the hug.

I suddenly remembered something and I because sad.

“What, snowflake, you don’t love me again”, he asked sadly.

“No it’s not that, it’s just that I am a human and we don’t live long compared to you vampires. That means I will eventually die one day and leave you”, I said sadly.

He chuckled and I became slightly angry. I just said something important and he is laughing, what is so funny.

“Snowflake, by the time you and I make love, your life span will increase”, He said.

“Are you really joking right now”, I asked and he shook his head.

“I’m actually serious Snowflake”, he said and I smiled.

We both laid on the bed looking at the ceiling.

“You know, I can’t wait to make you my wife when all this is over so that you can give me some cute snowflakes to play with”, Zamiel teased and I hit him slightly on his chest.

“Must you always joke all the time”, I pouted.

“My jokes are only for you darling”, he said sweetly.

“You’re so cheesy with words”, I rolled my eyes and he chuckled.

I yawned and stretched my hands, I was already feeling sleepy of which Zamiel noticed.

“You should go to bed, you know the human’s flesh is so weak”, he said and I scoffed.

“Good night”, I dozed off.

“Good night”, Zamiel muttered and arranged the sheets on Audriene’s body properly.

Since I didn’t wake to sleep, I decided to take a stroll around the palace because it has been a while since he stayed in a quiet place.

Zamiel walked round the whole castle and decided to go to the kitchen to drink water.

He was about barging him when he heard some voices which it’s not supposed to be. Everyone is supposed to be sleeping by now, I wonder what they are doing by this time.

He used his hearing ability to know what the maids were talking about.

“Make sure not to make any mistake, the queen will not be happy if her mission is not accomplished”, one of the maids said.

“I wonder what Master has done that made the queen hate him so much”, another one asked.

“I don’t know all I know is that the queen has been planning this thing for many years now and we must not mess things up or it’s doom for us”, the first maid said.

“But do you have any idea on why she is doing this”, the other maid asked.

“You ask too much questions, just focus on this thing, I want to leave before anyone catches me. I don’t care about you”, the first maid snapped.

“So they are trying to poison my princess huh. Hmm, we shall see”, Zamiel thought and turned around to leave.

He’s definitely not gonna let his snowflake eat a poisoned food. He’s going to punish them in front of everyone.

**Next Day**

We had family breakfast because my mom insisted, so that she can finally see Audriene since there was no time for introduction yesterday.

The maids came and served breakfast and I noticed that it was the same set of people that I heard in the kitchen last night. And the way they looked at my princess was weird.

Audriene was about to eat the food but I stopped her and everyone gave me a confused look.

“Don’t eat that food”, I said and she became slightly angry.

“Why”, she furrowed her brows.

I didn’t answer her question instead, I called on the two maids that served the food.

“Eat”, I commanded them and they became nervous.

Audriene on the other hand was boiling with anger, when she could not take it anymore she spoke out.

“Zamiel, what are you doing. Why are you telling the maids to eat my food”, she asked and I ignored her the second time.

“Are you two deaf or you don’t understand what I just said” I yelled and they opened the food with sweaty hands.

Their hands were trembling as they took the spoon.

When the pressure became too much, the dropped the spoon and started crying and the atmosphere of the room changed.

“Brother, why are they crying”, Viona asked and I smirked.

“Why don’t they say it themselves”, I said calmly yet dangerously.

“I’m so,,rry Ma,,master Zamiel. W,,we were a,,asked to poi,,, son Mistress Audriene”, they blurted out and everyone had a shocked look on their faces except from me. I already knew this was going to happen.

“What”, my mum finally spoke

“I’m sorry ma, we didn’t mean to poison her please”, they immediately fell on their knees and pleaded.

Audriene was finding it difficult to process everything. She never for once thought that someone will want to kill her.

“Guards, lock them up”, I said and led Audriene out of the dining room.

**In the room**

Since we entered the room, Audriene has not spoken a word.

“Hey are you okay”, I asked softly.

“Why did they do it”, Audriene asked in a whisper.

“I don’t know Snowflake but I will deal with them and make sure it does not happen again”, I said.

Deep down, I knew she was not that safe. Melaine has finally succeeded in planting spies in my own territory and I know that it’s not just two. There are more.

I was about to say something when we heard a knock on the door

“Come in”, I said and Viona entered.

“How is she feeling”, she asked me and I looked at Audriene.

“She’s finding it hard to believe that someone is after her life”, I replied sadly.

“I think Melaine crossed her boundaries this time. It’s high time you put an end to her existence or it’s more trouble for us”, Viona said.

“I know but they will come for Audriene when they can not get me and she doesn’t know how to defend herself”, I said

“Then teach her how to, you don’t know, she might be of help in the future”, Viona said.

“That is a nice idea”, I smiled faintly.

“By the way, have you thought about what mum said yesterday”, she asked.

“I have agreed to rule the kingdom”, I said

“I’m so happy you decided to rule the kingdom. I don’t know what would happen if you don’t rule”, Viona muttered.

I wasn’t feeling at ease in my mind, I wanted to torture those maids that tried to poison Audriene.

I stood up after making sure that Audriene was sleeping and turned to leave the room.

“Brother, where are you going to”, Viona asked.

“The torture room”, I said and Viona scowled a bit.

The maids were tied to a backless chair, sweats trickled down their faces. Immediately they saw me, they started pleading.

I became annoyed with the noise I was hearing and I yelled.

“Shut up”, I shouted and my eyes turned blood red.

“This is not good. These people are going to die”, Viona said to herself looking at the maids with pity

Zamiel stretched out his hand and whips came out of it.

The maids’ eyes widened at the length of the whip.

He walked slowly towards them dragging the whips on the floor.

He reached the maids and immediately raised his whip up and it landed on one of the maid’s back.

“Ahhhhh”, she screamed while Viona shivered in fright.

Sounds of screams could be heard, Zamiel refused to stop even when blood was coming out from their bodies.

He only stopped when the maids passed out yet he was still not satisfied.
