*

I heard a familiar voice and before I could say anything, i fainted.

ZAMIEL’S MANSION

FLASHBACK

I was in my study, doing some paper works when i started feeling strange but I decided to shrug it off. Later again, the same feeling started again but this time I felt as if someone is strangling me. That was when Audriene came to my mind and I teleported to where she was.

I got there and met Melaine strangling her and she was running out of breath. I pushed Melaine away and went to meet Audriene.

Her skin was already turning white, her lips were pale and she was breathing rapidly. She looked as if she wanted to sag something but she fainted. I felt a sharp pain seeing her in that condition. If only I was here on time, this would not have happened or what would have hhappened if I did not come on time, maybe she will be dead by now. I carried her in her bridal style and teleported back to my mansion.

PRESENT

“Viona, how is she doing and I hope she will not sleep like the last time”

“Don’t worry brother, she will not sleep that long. She is only sleeping so that the medicine I gave her will be effective”, Viona said.

” Okay”, I said and turned to Audriene.

“I will never ever let you away from my sight”, I vowed.

“I’m sorry for not coming in time to save you else this would not have happened. It’s my fault for dragging you into this mess. I know you are just a young girl who wants to enjoy life but I have ruined it for you”, I said amidst tears that threatened to fall.

” Stop being so hard on yourself brother, it’s not your fault that all of this happened”, Viona said.

“You know, since I started existing, I have never regretted any of my actions but now I am beginning to regret what I did to Melaine and her family”

“Don’t say that, Melaine and her family deserved what they got. They are evil people. And I wonder why Melaine is doing all these”, Viona questioned.

” She is just hell-bent on destroying my happiness and that is by killing Audriene because she does not have a mate due to the scar on her face and I was the one that caused it”

“Don’t worry, nothing will….”, Viona paused in her sentence when she noticed some movements coming from Audriene.

” Hey brother look, I think she is trying to wake up”, Viona said and Zamiel turned to look at Audriene.

Audriene opened her eyes the first time and closed it because everywhere, was too bright. She opened her eyes again but she became afraid.

Viona sensed they needed some privacy and she excused herself.

“Please don’t kill me, I beg you. I will do anything”, Audriene begged desperately.

” Calm down, no one will kill you when I am here”, I said softly but she was still crying and shivering. I was feeling sad within me seeing that she was so scared.

“Please, I’m begging you don’t kill me”, Audriene pleaded.

” Don’t worry it’s me Zamiel, okay, I will protect you. No one will kill you”, I said softly and with that she calmed down.

Audriene turned to look at me with sad eyes and her stomach grumbled to show that she is hungry.

I wanted to go and get the food my self but she held on to me tightly. I tried removing her hands but she was still holding on to me.

I had to call Viona to get the food. Shortly after, Viona brought the food and riene (Short form of Audriene) started eating like she has not had a good meal in days.

At a point she stopped eating and started yawning and stretching like she wants to sleep.

I laid her properly on the bed and tucked the sheets in. When I felt satisfied with my work, I turned to leave but she was still holding me. I tried removing her hands gently but her grip on me was still firm.

I had no other option than to stay with her for the night even though I know it’s going to be dangerous. I just have to exercise self control.

REDMAINE’S MANSION

“Mary, can you please go upstairs and call my daughter for me”, Mrs Redmaine requested and Mary left.

*knocks*, no reply.

Mary knocked on riene’s door but got no reply. She tried over and over again but still, she got no reply.

Mary thought of opening the door and barging in but she was trained never to do that. With that, she left to report it to her madam.

” Madam, I knocked on young mistress room but she did not open the door”, Mary reported.

“Okay. You can go”, Mrs Redmaine said.

” What type of child is this”, Mrs Redmaine said and went to Audriene’s room.

Mrs Redmaine knocked severally but got no reply. After some minutes, she pushed the door open and saw an empty room, Audriene was nowhere to be found.

She checked the bathroom and met the shower on but there was no trace of Audriene anywhere.

Mrs Redmaine became angry and ordered all the guards and maids to search for her while she was making some calls.

The guards and maids searched the whole mansion and beyond but they did not see her.

“Madam, we searched the whole mansion but we could not find her”, one of the guards knelt down on one knee and reported.

” You all are useless, where were you all when my daughter left this mansion”, Mrs Redmaine yelled.

All of them were frightened because they know the trouble that awaits them if they don’t find their young mistress.

“Can’t you all talk or have you suddenly gone deaf and dumb”, She questioned and they shook their heads.

” Then speak, say something, where we’re you”, she dragged the question.

“Ma..madam, w..we did not…see y..young mistress…as sh…e was leaving the mansion”, one of the guards stammered.

” So you mean I am paying you all for nothing”, she asked in anger.

“N…no ma”, they said already scared.

” I give all of you, six hours to find my daughter if not, you will all rot in jail. Will you get away from my sight”, she yelled and they all left immediately.

Mrs Redmaine decided to go to Audriene’s room one more time to look for her. She scattered everywhere but she did not see her daughter.

As she was checking the room, a paper fell and out of curiosity, she picked up the paper and opened it.

The letter read,

“Dear mum, I know that by the time you see this letter, I have already left your house. I do not want to get married to a guy I don’t feel anything for not to talk about the hatred I have for him.

I love someone else and I plan on spending the rest of my life with him and no one else.

I know this will cost you a lot because you have already prepared a lot for this wedding so I am very sorry because I will have to disappoint you. I am leaving your house forever until God knows when.

And I want you to know that no matter what you have done to me, I still love you.

Mrs Redmaine squeezed the paper and fell on the floor. She started weeping.

“What have I done, I have used my own hands to push my daughter away”, Mrs Redmaine cried and hugged the letter tightly.

OSIRIS’S MANSION

” I can no longer keep this feeling inside me. I need to let Kim know how I feel about her. Yes, I think that is the best thing to do” Osiris said.

I already informed Kim to come to the rooftop by 8 pm. I had the maids prepare the candle light dinner and a very tasty dish because Kim likes them.

When it was already 8 pm, Osiris went to the rooftop and waited for Kim to come. He was dressed in a black and white tuxedo with no tie. His hair was gelled backwards leaving only few strands of hair to fall.

He waited for Kim and not long, she showed up. Osiris lips formed an “O”, shape.

She was dressed in a red gown stopping at her knees and her hair was swaying due to the breeze.

” You look beautiful”, I whispered to her and she smiled.

“You are handsome too”, she replied and I drew out a seat for her to sit down.

During the dinner, we kept on talking about casual things and she said she really likes the decorations. I felt so happy within me.

At a point, I stopped eating and started staring at her which did not go unnoticed.

” Why are you staring at me like that”, She asked and I looked deep into her eyes and held her hands.

I didn’t know where to start from. All I know is that I must let her know how I feel about her tonight.

“I don’t know how to say it but, since I met you, my life has never been the same. Anytime you smile, I always feel happy and I can not bear to see you with another guy. I have never felt this way towards any woman. You made me feel what I have never felt before. I really don’t know what this feeling is but all I know is that I am in love with you, Kimberly Blake”, I voiced out unsure of her response.

Immediately I finished talking, there was silence. She looked at me with a surprised face.

” Will you say something, you are making me feel nervous”, I said.

“I’m just surprised to hear all of these but I am sorry. I don’t feel the same way you feel”, Kim said.

” Why, is it because of Bruno. What does he have that I don’t”, I asked more of a whisper.

“No it’s not because of him and don’t drag him into this”, Kim retorted and Osiris banged the table which scared Kim.

” Don’t you f*cking lie to me. I know it is because of him that is why you are rejecting me uh”, Osiris said angrily.

“Yes okay, yes. It is because of him”, Kim yelled.

” It’s okay”, Osiris said nodding. He took his keys and drive out of the mansion leaving Kim behind.
