REDMAINE’S MANSION

“Are you kidding me right now mum”

“I wanted to tell you on your birthday but you went missing. We agreed that you both should get married quickly. I don’t see any reason why we should prolong the marriage”, my mum said.

“mum”, I yelled. “You are so unbelievable. I don’t believe you can do such thing to me”

“I love you, that is why I am doing this. I want you to be in safe hands so that when I die, I will be at rest knowing that you will be well taken care of”, my mum said.

“You love me??,,,,if you really love me, you will think about my feelings. I mean for crying out loud I don’t love Arnold and I never will. I love someone else”

“Is it that useless boy. He is not your type, he can’t keep you safe”, my mum said.

“No mum, it’s not Liam it’s someone else and he can keep me safe”

“Whatever, all I know is that you are going to marry Arnold and that is final”, my mum said and left.

“Why is all this happening. Why is luck never on my side. Why can’t I just marry get married to the one I love” I cried and left the mansion without knowing where I was going to.

I kept on going straight, looking tattered due to my crying.

Rain started falling and I ran into a shop for shelter.

The rain started falling heavily, at some point I started regretting why I left the mansion.

I wanted to call my driver but my phone was switched off. I had no other option than to wait till the rain stops falling.

The rain stopped by 10pm and I started trekking back home. I was getting tired because of the long distance.

I finally got home just to meet my angry mum sitting on the couch like she is expecting someone which is obviously me.

“Hey mum”, I managed to mutter and started climbing the stairs.

“Why are you coming back home by this time”, my mum asked without looking back and I immediately stopped climbing the stairs.

“Sorry mum, I was about coming home before the rain started so I had to wait in a coffee shop till the rain stopped”

“And why didn’t you go with any of the cars”, my mum questioned angrily.

“I didn’t feel like. Besides, I tried to but my phone was dead”

“Are you really lying to me now. Since when did you start lying huh”, my mum asked feeling disappointed

“What are you saying mum, I am not lying to you”

“You know what, you are grounded till I’m ready to release you”, she said.

“mum”, I was about to complete it but she raised her hand and I stopped talking.

I ran upstairs to my room and shut the door.

Did I really make a mistake by coming back home. Here I was, thinking that my mum will change her mind after I went missing but I was wrong.

She can never change. I should have stayed with Zamiel at least I will be free from all these.

ARNOLD’S PENTHOUSE

“You mean, your mum changed the marriage date to next week”, Michael asked.

“Don’t f*cking ask me man. I don’t know what is wrong with that old woman”

“So you are gonna be a married man in a week”, Jason laughed

“Happy married life in advance bro”, Michael said sarcastically.

“Guys, can you just this. I did not tell you this so you can make jest of me. I told so you can tell me the way forward”

“Dude, man, there is no going back. Just continue with the marriage”, Jason adviced

“I heard she is still fresh and she’s a virgin. That even makes the marriage sweeter. What do you think Jason”, Michael said licking his lips.

“Yeah man I totally agree with what Michael said, I mean catching fishes like this is so scarce and here it is offered to you on a platter of gold. Open your eyes bro”, Jason said slightly tapping his shoulder.

“Hey Michael let’s go have some drinks and leave this old man to worry his life away”, Jason said.

“Okay bro”, Michael replied.

“Hey guys, won’t you wait for me”

“I thought you will sit down thinking all day. Come over here let’s all go together”, Michael said and they left.

Liam was preparing to go out. Earlier this week, Lily called him to let him know that she will be free during the weekend.

Liam put on a black top on a blue jeans and a black jacket to match. He checked the mirror for the umpteenth time before leaving his house.

He arrived at Jenner’s restaurant and waited for few minutes before Lily entered.

I couldn’t take my eyes off her. She was wearing an off shoulder blue top and a black mini skirt with her hair swirling due to the breeze.

” Have a seat”, I said taking out a chair and I heard her mutter a silent “thank you”.

” You look stunning tonight”, I couldn’t help but compliment her.

It was not long before I noticed that we were both wearing matching colors of outfits.

“So,,,we are wearing the same color of clothes”, I voiced out.

” Oh,, that’s nice”, she replied, shyly.

“So what do you want to order”

“Anything is fine with me”, Lily said

” Okay. Waiter, please can we have the menu”, I requested.

He came shortly after with the menu.

I looked through the menu and decided to order pasta and meatballs for both I and Lilly.

The waiter came back with the order placed it on the table and left.

I placed one of the plates in front of Lily. “Eat up” I said to her and she smiled.

As we were eating, I was occasionally stealing glances at Lily. The way she was eating looked like a movie to me.

“Is there something on my face, cause you have being staring at me for a while now”, Lily said snapping me out of my thoughts

” Oh… no there is nothing on your face”, I stammered

“Really?, then why were you staring at me like that”, she asked.

” Uhm… I was just wondering if you could come to my house sometime”, I lied.

“Sure, I will really love to”, she responded cheerfully.

” So, tell me about yourself”, I asked the one question that has been killing me inside.

“Okay. My name is Lillian, I’m 19 years old. When I was 10 years of age, my father woke up one morning and left the house, since then, I never saw his face again”, Lily uttered the last statement sadly.

” I’m so sorry for that”, I said showing sympathy.

“Don’t worry, there is no need for that. Since my father left, my mum has been taking care of me and my junior brother. She made sure we never suffered until now. I really love and respect my mother. She is one strong woman”, Lilly said.

I held her palms with my hand and caressed them gently. ” Your mum is a very strong woman. I guess you took after her”, I said

“I know right” she laughed and her eyes went straight to her palms, I was still holding them.

“I’m..i’m very sorry for that”, I apologized and let go of her palms.

” It’s okay”, she said nervously and there was an awkward silence.

“So do you have a boyfriend or any guy in mind”, I had to ask to break the silence.

She immediately smiled at my question and I felt my a sharp pain in my heart.

” Yes, I do. I just don’t want him to know for now because I don’t want to suffer from any heartbreak”, she said staring into space.

I forced a smile on my lips but deep down I was feeling pain, as if someone used knife to stab me many times.

Throughout the dinner, I could not concentrate. I kept on thinking of how to make her like me.

After the dinner, we went to our houses. I laid on my bed thinking of what happened today. I don’t know what I feel for her but I definitely hate the thought of her with another man.

REDMAINE’S MANSION

“After my mum grounded me, I thought about it and I decided to go back to Zamiel’s house at least it is better there.

I wrote a short letter and placed it on my bedside table and went to the bathroom to freshen up and change my clothes so I can leave.

As I was bathing, I felt a strange presence around me. The kind of aura that was emitting from the person was not a friendly one.

I looked back but I didn’t see anything. I continued taking my bath because I thought it was my imagination. I felt the same thing again but this time, the person was standing in front of me. It was a tall slender woman with a veil covering the scar on her face.

I wanted to scream but I couldn’t, she must have done something to my voice.

I started to beg her but it looks like she was not going to give in. She came near me and started strangling me. I began to wish Zamiel was here to save me.

The woman kept on strangling me, I almost ran out of air until I heard a familiar voice and the woman let me be.

I saw Zamiel in front of me but before I could say anything I fainted….
