ZAMIEL’S MANSION

“Are you sure you want to go back home”, Zamiel asked Audriene for the last time.

“Yes, I miss my family”.

“Okay, if you say so. Get dressed let us head for your house now”, Zamiel said.

“Okay, just give me a minute”.

Zamiel nodded and watched he ascend the stairs.

Shortly after, Audriene came downstairs with a blue denim jeans and a black top. Zamiel was lost staring at her.

“Damn, she even looks beautiful in a casual dress”, Zamiel muttered.

“I’m true, can we leave now”

“Yeah sure”. “Caulder get the car ready”, Zamiel requested.

“Okay master”, Caulder said bowing his head and he left.

Shortly after Caulder came back and informed Zamiel that the car is ready.

“Come on let’s go”, Zamiel said to Audriene.

Caulder wanted to drive the car but was stopped by Zamiel. “Don’t worry, I will drive”, Zamiel said.

“But master…”,

Zamiel raised his hand signalling Caulder to stop speaking.

“Get into the car”, Zamiel told Audriene.

The drive was a very long and silent one. The silence was making Audriene uncomfortable. She knew that Zamiel is not happy with her decision but it’s not her fault.

Audriene decided to break the uncomfortable silence.

“So, are you actually comfortable with my decision. I mean what if I don’t return back to you”, She asked awkwardly.

“You will definitely come back to me. I will make sure of that” Zamiel replied not taking his eyes off the road.

Audriene did not argue with him instead she just turned sideways and started looking outside through the window.

Zamiel on the other hand was looking at Audriene with his eyes full of love. “You must return to me”, he said to himself.

After one hour of driving, Zamiel finally reached the Redmaine’s mansion.

Audriene wanted to get down immediately but Zamiel grabbed her hand to stop her from opening the door.

“I’m going to miss you, take care of yourself. If you want to come back just let me know and whenever you are in trouble, just call me and I’ll be there. Okay”, Zamiel said softly.

Audriene nodded biting her lips shyly. Zamiel released her hand and she ran out of the car.

Zamiel smiled watching her run away. He stayed there for some time watching her go until she was out of sight then he drove away.

“Mum, Bruno. Is anyone home”, I yelled.

My mum ran down the stairs when she heard my voice.

“Oh Audriene, you are finally back home. Where did you go to. Do you have any idea on how worried I and your brother were”, my mum questioned.

“I’m sorry mum, I never wanted you or Bruno to worry about me”

My mum scoffed loudly. “Do you know we were going to file a missing report in the station huh”, My mum said.

“We will talk about this later. Right now, I want to eat I am very hungry”

“I will get the maids to prepare some food for you. I’m coming”, my mum said and she left.

It feels nice to be back home but I was already missing Zamiel and his sister. I know it’s not up to an hour ago I saw Zamiel but I just miss him. I wonder how he is doing now.

“Audriene the food is ready”, my mum said snapping me out of my thoughts.

During lunch, my mum just kept on looking at me which I wasn’t really comfortable with.

“Mum, why are you staring at me that way”

“Why did you leave the party just like that. You did not even tell anyone where you are going to”, my mum said slightly disappointed.

“I’m sorry mum, I didn’t plan to leave just like that”.

“Where did you even go to that you are just coming back”, my mum asked

“Uhm..”, I said, I became short of words. I had to come up with a lie quickly.

“I went to a friend’s house”

“Which friend because the only friend you have that I know of is Kim and you were not in her house”, my mum said narrowing her brows.

“Come on, do you think I have only one friend. Anyway I slept in Ariel’s house”

“Okay if you say so. Eat up and don’t forget to give Kim a call, she has been asking me if you are back”, my mum said and with that she left.

“Phew, that was a close one”, I said to myself.

Later, I gave Kim a call. She was so happy to hear my voice.

Hey Audriene, is that really you

Yes of course its me

Where are you now. Do you know how worried I was about you.

I’m so sorry I left without informing anybody.

You better explain to me what happened.

Okay I will. Just come to my house, I can’t discuss it on phone

Okay, I’ll be there. Be expecting me

Okay, no problem. Bye.

Call ends.

Few minutes after, Kim showed up at my house. Immediately she saw me, she hugged me like her life depended on it.

“I missed you, I thought you were gone forever”, Kim said.

“Woah, woah, take it easy girl, as you can see I am here now”

“You said you were gonna tell me everything. So start talking I’m listening”, Kim demanded.

Audriene explained everything to Kim. From how Clara kidnapped her, tortured her and wanted to kill her before she was rescued by Zamiel.

“Wow, you mean Clara did all of these”, Kim asked surprised.

“Mmhmm. She did it. I know I am safe now but there is still something that is bothering me”

“And what is that”, Kim asked

“Well, remember the guy I told you about that I like”

“Yeah, the guy you said that saved you from getting raped by Paul”, Kim responded.

“Yes well, he was the one that saved me from Clara and he took me to his house and made sure I was feeling well. But he wanted me to stay back because I’m his mate and I don’t know what to do”

“Mate??”, Kim asked

“Yes, he is a vampire. An ancient one for that”

“Woah, this is too much to process. Do you love him”, Kim asked out of the blue.

“Do I really love him”, I thought to myself.

“Anytime I see him, I feel safe and I always want to be with him. Is that what love is” I asked Kim

“Yes girl. But to really confirm you love him, do you always have goosebumps whenever you are around him”, Kim asked.

“Hmmm… I think so”

“Are you always happy when you see him”, she asked again

“Yes I’m always happy”

“Last question, how would you feel if you wake up someday and he is no longer with you”, Kim asked.

I rolled my eyes and looked at her. “We are not yet together”, I said.

“Just imagine you both are together. Now how will you feel”, She asked.

“I guess,,,,I will feel broken, sad, dejected or I might probably commit suicide”

“You see, you really love him without you knowing” Kim said happily.

“You really think so”

“I know so. Just give him a try and go back to him don’t worry your family will get used to your absence”, Kim said

“Thanks so much, what will I have done without you”, I said and hugged Kim.

“That’s enough, you are making me emotional”, Kim said and disengaged from the hug.

ZAMIEL’S MANSION

“Brother, why can’t I find Audriene anywhere. I have checked her room but I did not see her”, Viona asked.

“I took her back home earlier”,

“Why did you do that brother”, Viona asked slightly furious.

“She insisted, she wants to go home and I took her back home”

Viona became sad and started crying. Zamiel could not tolerate seeing his sister cry so he went to his room.

“I know this is hard for you brother but you are trying to be strong”, Viona thought to herself.

“I don’t know how you are doing now but I hope you are fine”, Zamiel said to himself sadly.

He felt empty the moment he let Audriene go and now he is feeling so lonely without her.

He decided to go into her mind to make himself happy.

“That means you really love him. You should give him a try and go back to him”, her friend Kim said.

Zamiel did not bother to listen to the remaining conversation. He was so happy to know that Audriene loves him as much
as he does.

He vowed to protect her and be with her no matter what.

WINSTON’S MANSION

“What is it that you said is important”, Arnold asked impatiently.

“You remember about the marriage I told you about”, Mrs Winston said.

“Yes, the one you and Dad planned without my permission”, Arnold chipped in.

“Yes, we have decided to change the date of the marriage”, Mrs Winston said.

“What do you mean mum, go straight to the point”, Arnold said

“You both will be getting married next week”, Mrs Winston said.

“That’s a joke right”, Arnold said laughing.

“Well as you can see I am not laughing”, Mrs Winston said

“So you called me here to tell me this bull shit. Are you aware I was in an important meeting when you called me”, Arnold said angrily.

“I’m sorry son, I…” Mrs Winston was about to complete her statement but Arnold interrupted her.

“Save it mum, I’m out of here and don’t call me again for any foolish reason”, Arnold warned and stomped out of the mansion.

“Why does he have such a bad temper” Mrs Winston said to herself.

REDMAINE’S MANSION

“Mary, can you please call my daughter for me”, Mrs Redmaine said.

“Yes madam”, Mary said and left.

In a few minutes, Audriene went to join her mum in the garden.

“Mum, you sent for me”

“Yes I did, have a sit”, my mum offered and I sat down.

“Well, you know you were engaged to Arnold on your birthday and I told you the wedding is going to take place when you are 20”, my mum said

“Yes”, I replied not sure of where she was heading to.

“Well, things changed, I and the Winstons decided that you and Arnold will get married next week”, my mum dropped the bomb.

“What!!”, I yelled.
