ZAMIEL’S MANSION

“Where am I”, Audriene said and Zamiel raised up his head immediately.

“You are awake”, Zamiel said happily.

“Uhm..”, Audriene muttered looking confused at Zamiel’s statement.

“Let me get you food, I will explain everything to you later”, Zamiel said and stood up to leave.

Audriene was looking around and found the place familiar. “This place looks familiar, as if I have been here before”, Audriene said to herself.

Audriene was interrupted by the opening of the door.

“This is your food, now eat up”, Zamiel said placing the tray of food on the side table.

Audriene was looking at Zamiel like she know him from somewhere or maybe she have met him somewhere.

“Am I that handsome that you can’t take your eyes off me”, Zamiel asked and she looked away immediately.

Audriene started eating her food but she could not concentrate because of the handsome figure in front of her.

“Sorry, i think we’ve met before”, Audriene could not help but ask.

“Yes, we have. I was the guy that saved you from getting raped in the club that night you were drugged and I also took you to a fountain when your friend was sick. Does that ring a bell”, Zamiel said.

“Ohh, no wonder I found this place familiar. So am I going to stay here forever”, Audriene questioned.

“Yes I am afraid you will stay with me forever. After all you are my mate and your life is in danger”, Zamiel replied

“What do you mean by I’m your mate and how am I in danger. You have not even told me your name”, Audriene said.

“Yeah, my name is Zamiel and you were destined to be with me since you were born. You are in danger because some people wants to kill you”, Zamiel said.

Audriene scoffed, “yeah right, of course everyone wants to kill me including the person I called my friend”, Audriene said.

“She was only manipulated to do that”, Zamiel simply said.

“By who”, she asked.

“That will be for another day, eat up your food, I will call my sister to check on you”, Zamiel said and left.

“Viona, Audriene is awake can you check if she is totally okay”, Zamiel said

“No problem brother”, Viona said and left.

Viona went straight to the room Audriene is staying in

Viona knocked on the door and heard a voice saying”come in”, and Viona entered.

“Hi, I’m Viona, Zamiel’s sister. I came to check if you are totally okay”, Viona said in a friendly manner.

“Okay. And by the way my name is Audriene. Nice to meet you”, Audriene replied smiling.

“His sister is much more friendly unlike him who has a cold face”, Audriene thought to herself.

“I heard that”, Zamiel said and Audriene was shocked to see him.

“How did he do that, he wasn’t here before. Is he a witch or what”, Audriene said.

Zamiel chuckled lightly and said “stop thinking about nonsense and let my sister check if you are okay”, he said and left.

“Okay, can you please lie down let me check your body”, Viona requested.

Audriene laid down and Viona placed her hand over Audriene’s body while muttering some spells.

Audriene was looking at her confused. She was expecting her to behave like the doctors in the hospital but instead, she was saying something to yourself.

After a few minutes, Viona opened her eyes and smiled. “You are perfectly okay, my brother will be very happy to hear this”, Viona said smiling.

Audriene was looking at her as if demanding for an explanation and Viona laughed.

“So my brother hasn’t told you who he is”, Viona asked and Audriene shook her head.

“Well, he is an ancient vampire that has been existing for thousands of years while I am a half witch and half vampire”, Viona said making Audriene to be confused the more.

“How will someone live for thousands of years and he is still alive till now. I know that’s what you are thinking but trust me when I say it is true. We are not humans like you who just live for few years and die”, Viona said.

“But how come I never heard that people like you exists”, Audriene asked.

“That is a very nice question. You see, many years ago, vampire, witches and human beings all lived together in peace. But all that changed when the humans became greedy for power. They wanted to rule the world and make vampire and witches their subjects. Then the witches disagreed and said they are more powerful than the rest of the other creatures. The vampires could not sit and watch the witches take over the world so they got angry and said “if anyone should lead the world, it should be the vampires”, and the whole world became a war zone”, Viona said.

“Wow, so why are the witches and vampires not living together again”, Audriene asked.

“I will answer that. “The world was in chaos, people were killing each other for power. When the killing became too much, it was then agreed that the witches and vampires should not live with the humans and everyone went their separate ways”, Viona answered.

“Okay. So how come I never heard of the existence of the witches and vampires”, Audriene asked.

“When we all went our separate ways, the humans developed hatred for the witches and vampires. They made sure they never mentioned anything about witches and vampires to the younger generation and any book that had the information about witches and vampires were burnt or destroyed”, Viona said.

“So that means the witches and vampires hates the humans too”, Audriene asked and Viona nodded.

Audriene was about asking another question but Zamiel interrupted them.

“Enough with the question and answer session and come downstairs for lunch”, Zamiel said.

“He is such a vibe killer”, Audriene said and Viona laughed while Zamiel turned back and shot her a glare.

WITCHES KINGDOM

“Ahhhhh”, Melaine screamed and sounds of glasses falling down were heard.

“Why is Zamiel always in my way. He is always destroying everything I have worked for”, Melaine yelled and broke another set of glasses.

“Now he is with his mate and he is happy while I’m here suffering and I don’t have a mate. If I can not be happy then he too will never be happy. I must make him miserable before I die. I must kill that human mate”, Melaine said angrily.

Melaine started coughing out blood. She knows that she has less than Six months to live but she must make Zamiel suffer before she dies.

REDMAINE’S MANSION

“Mum will you please eat, you have not eaten anything since morning and you have drugs to take”, Bruno said softly.

“Where is my daughter, I want to see my daughter, go and bring her back for me”, Mrs Redmaine said crying like a child.

“Mum, she will come back but first you have to eat. Remember you have medicines to take”, Bruno said.

“No, I want to see her now”, Mrs Redmaine insisted stubbornly.

“Mum, you know that if Audriene should come back now, she will not be happy seeing you like this, so stop crying”, Bruno said.

“Okay”, Mrs Redmaine said and stopped crying.

“Yes mum now eat your food so that you can take your drugs. Later we will go to the station and file a report”, Bruno said.

Mrs Redmaine nodded and started eating her food.

ZAMIEL’S MANSION

Audriene has being quiet after lunch time and she was looking sad.

Zamiel came to sit close to her on the couch and waved his hand in front of her.

“What are you doing here”, Audriene asked.

“Nothing, just saw you staring into space and I came. What is wrong, you are not looking happy”, Zamiel asked.

“I wonder how my family is doing now, I’m sure they will be so worried about me. I want to go back home”, Audriene said.

Immediately she uttered the last sentence, Zamiel felt a sharp pain in his chest.

“But this is your home too, after all you are destined to be with me”, Zamiel said sadly

“Sorry but, I still want to go home. My mum will be so worried about me”, Audriene said.

“Fine I will take you home but when you want to come back, just let me know”, Zamiel agreed sadly.
