Emmanuel was taken aback. Just before dinner, he had indeed made some

measuring on the balcony, even drawing a few lines. He had not expected

Sarah to be so sharp-witted and figure out that he wanted to create a

simulated mountain fountain.

“Yeah, that’s right!” Emmanuel did not deny it either.

“Then contact me on WhatsApp. I’ll introduce my friend to you later. He’s very professional,” Sarah said enthusiastically.

He could not refuse his sister-in-law’s kind offer, so he added Sarah as a

friend.

He felt genuinely happy inside. Not only did he meet his wife’s family tonight,

but he also discovered that they were much more pleasant to be around than he had imagined.

It seemed that those plotlines in novels were deceiving. They often portrayed commoners entering wealthy families, being incompatible with their new

relatives, and living miserable lives. However, the reality was completely

different.

The Quillen family members were all well-mannered. Even if Felicity did not

think highly of him as her son-in-law, she did not give him any trouble at all.

However, Mackenzie was not as optimistic as Emmanuel. After Felicity and

Sarah left, she warned him, “I’m warning you, don’t get too close to Sarah!”

“Huh?” Emmanuel was stunned, looking at her in astonishment. He did not understand what his wife meant. Is it possible that she is jealous of her

younger sister?

“Don’t worry. Even though Sarah is beautiful and well-behaved, I would never

have any improper thoughts about her. Can’t you trust me?” Emmanuel smiled and mentioned.

“I didn’t mean that!” she replied seriously.

“Then what do you mean?” Emmanuel was confused, wondering why his wife,

who usually seemed so cold, was worried about him getting close to her

sister.

Mackenzie could not explain it at the moment, and she did not want to

explain. She just emphasized once again, “Just don’t get too close to her,

that’s all!” After saying that, she turned and went back to her room.

With his wife’s behavior, Emmanuel could not help but have various thoughts.

If she isn’t worried that I can’t control myself and will make a move on her

younger sister, could it be that she is worried her sister will try to seduce me?

But that doesn’t make sense!

Emmanuel had never considered himself a handsome guy, nor did he think he possessed much charm. Nevertheless, he trusted his own judgment and felt that Sarah did not come across as the promiscuous type.

The next morning, Emmanuel still drove Mackenzie to her company as usual.

But after getting out of the car, he did not immediately turn around and rush

back to work as he usually did.

Mackenzie displayed a frighteningly perceptive nature and immediately

turned to him, asking, “Did you lose your job?” Emmanuel was taken aback

and wore a bitter smile. “You already know?”

“I took a wild guess,” she admitted. And indeed, Mackenzie had her

suspicions. Emmanuel had been absent for half a month, and it was

well-known that General Lenoir had vowed not to let him off the hook.

Considering the strong connections between Beacon Hospital and the Lenoir

family, it was only natural for Emmanuel to have been fired.

“Do you want to work at Terence Group?” Mackenzie took the initiative and

offered it to him.

Emmanuel replied, “My expertise doesn’t align, does it?”

Despite Terence Group being a vast conglomerate encompassing various industries such as real estate, construction, hotels, jewelry, energy, and technology, it was challenging to find a suitable position for a gynecologist within the company.
