Love at the Wrong Table - Season 5 Episode 20

By some strange coincidence, Mackenzie actually decided to enter the hotel

alone and went to the restaurant on the third floor. Then, she swept her gaze

across the room and took a seat.

“Miss, may I take your order?”

Mackenzie had just sat down when Jimmy approached with a smile.

In addition to the lemon butter garlic salmon, she also ordered several dishes

that Emmanuel used to cook as well as dishes that both she and Emmanuel’

enjoyed eating.

Finally, she ordered two bottles of expensive red wine.

“Um, Miss, aren’t you alone? Will you be able to finish it all?” Jimmy asked

cautiously.

He was genuinely concerned because he sensed that Mackenzie seemed a

bit absent-minded as if she had just experienced a heartbreak and resorted

to splurging in order to vent her feelings.

He was worried that she might regret it later when she regained her senses.

Little did he expect Mackenzie to suddenly give him a sharp, intimidating look

that sent shivers down his spine.

“Don’t waste my time. Just bring the food!”

Snap.

-After Mackenzie spoke, she forcefully slapped a black card on the table as

she was too preoccupied to engage in further conversation with the waiter.

The waiter’s facial expression instantly changed after realizing that he was

dealing with a wealthy goddess!

He didn’t dare to meddle any further. Instead, he quickly nodded and bowed

before leaving.

Before long, all the dishes were served and filled the entire table.

“Bring me two sets of cutleries!” Mackenzie ordered again.

“Ah? Yes, Miss!” Jimmy quickly complied even though he found it a bit

strange. Why would she need two sets of cutleries when dining alone?

When the second set of cutleries was brought, he finally realized that the

dishes seemed very familiar. It seemed that the new male waiter at their

restaurant also enjoyed the dishes she had just ordered!

Was it a coincidence? Or…

Jimmy hesitated while thinking about how Mackenzie didn’t appreciate his

curiosity earlier. In the end, he decided not to say anything more and simply

placed the cutlery on the table before walking away.

Mackenzie looked at the table full of dishes Emmanuel loved, but no one was

sitting across from her. She couldn’t help but feel a sense of emptiness and

let out a weary sigh.

How she wished he was sitting across from her at this moment.

Without his company, she realized that even the food wasn’t as appealing as

it used to be.

You cooked so many meals, but I never treated you to a meal. You saved my

life twice, but I repaid you by kicking you out of the house. Won’t you let me

make it up to you? Dummy, where are you?

Mackenzie wanted to scream, but it wasn’t in her composed and reserved

nature to do such a thing. In the end, it turned into yet another sigh.

Then, she slowly picked up the chopsticks, but instead of picking up any food,

she slowly put them back down.

It turned out that when a person was missing someone, even the food she

loved became tasteless.

Jimmy was stealing glances at Mackenzie from afar because she was so

beautiful and elegant.

He had always been curious about what kind of person such a beautiful

goddess was.

Was she heartbroken and mentally troubled?

It was such a pity. She could have her pick of all sorts of men! Why was she

torturing herself like this?

He really wanted to approach and console Mackenzie, but he didn’t have the

courage.

“Emmanuel, you fool. Do you know that I’ve lost a good deal of weight in this

half month without you? When you return, I will make sure you fatten me up. I

won’t ever diet, and I’ll make you suffer… Hmph, once I find you, you won’t be

able to leave my sight again. I won’t make the same mistake twice!”

Mackenzie began to mutter to herself.

She had been suppressing her emotions for far too long!
