“Ah, look, isn’t that Old Mr. Quillen?” someone exclaimed.

“What? Old Mr. Quillen is here?” another person chimed in, surprised.

The hotel manager’s reception attracted the attention of many onlookers.

Being a prominent business family, the Oatley family quickly identified

Terence Quillen as the wealthiest and most influential figure in Yeringham’s

business realm.

The mere mention of Old Mr. Quillen instantly diverted Sebastian’s attention

from Roselynn’s situation, compelling him to approach hurriedly.

The arrival of Terence himself left everyone in a state of utter astonishment.

“O–Old Mr. Quillen, what brings you here?” Sebastian asked in disbelief. This

was a joyous occasion for them, and Terence had voluntarily graced them

with his presence.

Even Sebastian couldn’t fathom the idea that Terence was honoring the

Oatley family. Is he somehow connected to the bride’s family?

“It’s the necklace my sister–in–law Mackenzie lent me. It was a gift from my

younger brother to her.” Roselynn pointed to the golden jade phoenix around

her neck.

Terence trembled with disbelief. At a glance, he recognized it as the exact

necklace he had purchased for Emmanuel to give to his granddaughter,

Mackenzie.

Since when did it fall into the possession of someone from the Oatley family?

A surge of anger welled within him.

However, as someone well–versed in navigating the complexities of life, he

concealed his emotions. Instead, he smiled and turned to Sebastian, asking,

“Is that so?”

Sebastian sighed inwardly and nodded to Terence. “Yes, it’s true. What a

shame that something like this has happened to our family!”

“Hold on for a moment!” Terence waved his hand, urging them to clarify. “Are

you implying that someone from the Oatley family falsely accused your

daughter–in–law, or are you saying that your daughter–in–law stole

-someone else’s necklace and tarnished your family’s reputation? Please

make it clear!”

As the chairman of Terence Group, he always approached matters in a

systematic and precise manner.

“It’s about her stealing my necklace, of course!” Selina immediately grew

angry and pointed at Roselynn. “Everyone here knows that this necklace was

a token of affection given to me by Mr. Lane. How did it end up in the

possession of someone she knows?”

Terence maintained his smile, neither confirming nor denying, as he

repeated his question to Sebastian, “Is that so?”

Sebastian stammered, unsure of how to respond.

stood by Selina’s side and felt an overwhelming urge to assertively speak the

At her words, Terence shifted his gaze toward Claudette and said, “Ms. Lenoir,

I didn’t bring anyone with me today. Your family has always shown efficiency,

and I would appreciate some assistance from you.”

While the meaning behind his words eluded others, Claudette instantly

grasped it.

She had personally witnessed Mackenzie giving the necklace to Roselynn.

How could Roselynn be lying?

These people from the Oatley family were acting high and mighty, falsely

accusing Roselynn of stealing the necklace and even resorting to violence

against her. Even without Terence’s intervention, she was determined to help

her best friend.
