As if having a psychic intuition, the two of them, standing 100 meters apart,

almost simultaneously noticed each other. Emmanuel wanted to greet her,

but the words stuck in his throat, and he couldn’t utter them.

“Mackenzie!”

At that moment, Quintus suddenly appeared out of nowhere, wearing a smile

on his face as he approached them.

Emmanuel froze on the spot, after which a bad feeling washed over him.

Could it be that Quintus‘ super pretty woman is my own wife? So, I helped

him chase after my own wife on my electric scooter through the streets?

Mackenzie had been keeping her attention on Emmanuel the whole time and

couldn’t help but find his expression amusing.

That idiot should have finally figured out the truth, right?

But even though she found it amusing, she maintained her icy demeanor on

the surface.

“Quintus, what do you want this time?” Mackenzie was unusually proactive,

which surprised Quintus.

“Mackenzie, I’ve reserved a luxurious private club VIP room for tonight. Let’s

have a drink and relax there?” Quintus started going through the motions

again.

He knew very well that Mackenzie had agreed to attend the party yesterday

because she was in a bad mood, but she left halfway through. Tonight, no

matter what, she probably won’t agree to my invitation!

To his surprise, Mackenzie glanced at Emmanuel and immediately agreed.

“Okay, you’ll drive me there tonight, then!”

her brother who arranged the meeting with Emmanuel. So, her encounter

Mackenzie sat in the passenger seat of Quintus‘ car, silently observing the

man’s performance.
