“Mackenzie! Mackenzie!” Emmanuel hurriedly chased after her to the door,

but it was clear that she couldn’t be bothered with him. He retreated with a

sigh, feeling dejected.

“What’s wrong, Dr. Lowe?” Claudette’s tone carried a hint of apology. Her

strange illness chose to flare up at this very moment, and she truly wanted to

see Emmanuel now, hoping he could come and help her.

“I’m sorry, Ms. Lenoir. I can’t go out tonight. Please come to the hospital

tomorrow for a checkup.” He understood what she meant just now, but he

wasn’t in the mood for it.

“Oh, okay.” She agreed with a sigh.

After she hung up the phone, her unsettled emotions continued to linger. She

didn’t feel a sense of triumph over defeating a love rival. Instead, she felt a

-wave of guilt.

Mackenzie ended up in such a state. I feel like a mistress in their relationship,

but I really want to be with him. What should I do? At this thought, tears

On the other hand, Emmanuel didn’t have the energy to attend to Claudette’s

emotions, for his mind was occupied with how to fix his relationship with

Mackenzie. She told me to get out, but I don’t want to leave this home.

After some hesitation, he decided to respect her wishes. After leaving a note

behind, he left the house.

Thud! Although he closed the door quietly, Mackenzie still heard it. She quickly

walked out and discovered that the man had indeed left.

At this moment, it was already past midnight. Is he going over to Claudette’s?

When she noticed the note on the table in the living room, she quickly picked

it up and read his message. ‘I’m sorry, Ms. Quillen. Maybe I shouldn’t have

-attended the laser tag game, but my relationship with Ms. Lenoir is purely

platonic. I didn’t cheat on you. Please believe me. Since this house is yours, I

will leave if you want me to. If you need me for anything else, you can

contact me anytime.‘

These simple words caused the poised and aloof CEO of Terence Group to

tremble slightly, and she felt a tingling sensation in her nose. Damn it! When

did I start caring so much about a man?

As she bit her lip tightly, she comforted herself, saying, It’s good that the idiot

left on his own. He’s the one at fault, anyway. If I divorce him, Grandpa can’t

blame me.

sleep, she put on a coat and went outside.

Through the glass window in the corridor, she saw Emmanuel sitting on a

bench under the streetlight in the neighborhood.
