“With your work nature and what happened to your cousin, your family should be worried about you. If I go back with you, they will rest assured.” Han Zhuofeng stated the reasons.

Xie Jiling had just realized that he still remembered what she said about her cousin.

It was because he remembered clearly that he knew her family would care and be worried about her.

That was why he wanted to go there. It was all to reassure her family.

She would not be taken advantage of in B City.

Nobody would hurt her.

“Alright.” Xie Jiling nodded.

There was only one thing that she was unsure about.

If Han Zhuofeng were to go, she would definitely have to tell her family beforehand.

However, wouldn’t her family think it was too early for her to be dating at nineteen years old?

But she had to tell her family anyway.

After giving it a thought, Xie Jiling decided not to care about this problem.

She had already started dating anyway, and there was nothing her family could do about it.

She would leave all the tests to Han Zhuofeng.

As they talked on the way, they arrived at the hotel without realizing it.

“I used my ID to get you a room. You can just go there straight away,” said Han Zhuofeng, as he took out a new room card from his bag and passed it to Xie Jiling.

“When did you get a new room?” Xie Jiling was surprised.

She came in the afternoon, and she hadn’t seen Han Zhuofeng leave the production crew.

After the shooting was done, the two had been together the whole time.

“At noon,” explained Han Zhuofeng, smiling, “After calling you at noon and when you agreed to come, I immediately returned to the hotel and got a room.”

“Isn’t that a lot of work? It would have been if you had gotten it after I arrived,” said Xie Jiling.

“It’s fine.” Han Zhuofeng didn’t mind it.

The two walked into the elevator.

There were so many people on the production crew.

Everyone left the restaurant together.

However, when they returned to the hotel, they didn’t meet a single person from the production crew.

It was unclear whether everyone came back first or they were still out.

But they should at least see one person, right?

Only the two of them were in the elevator.

Xie Jiling had no idea what was going on, but Han Zhuofeng knew.

Back in the restaurant, the assistant director sent him a WeChat message secretly.

Everyone created a chance for him and Xie Jiling to spend some alone time.

As such, everyone came back slower than them.

If a big group of people entered the hotel, it would be fun.

But the mood would be ruined.

There were only two of them in the lift. Han Zhuofeng lowered his head slightly and looked at Xie Jiling beside him.

She was tiny, and she looked well-behaved.

Han Zhuofeng looked down slightly, and he extended his hand slowly toward Xie Jiling’s hand.

Back when they were in the ghost town, Han Zhuofeng could hold Xie Jiling’s hand calmly without hesitation.

But now, he did not have the courage.

Han Zhuofeng’s throat was dry, and his face was burning.

He was so nervous that the air around him seemed like it was burning.

His fingers slowly inched toward Xie Jiling.

The distance between the two was not great, but why could he not reach it no matter how far he moved toward her?

Han Zhuofeng did not know that although he felt that he was moving, in reality, he was just moving his hand around in place.

Han Zhuofeng lowered his head and looked at Xie Jiling’s fair hand.

It wasn’t like they had not held hands before.

He gritted his teeth and held Xie Jiling’s hand straight away.

Xie Jiling turned around in surprise and looked at him.

Han Zhuofeng blushed as he said, “We’re already dating, so it’s fine if we hold hands, right?”

Xie Jiling laughed secretly, and she held Han Zhuofeng’s hand as well.

This time, it felt different from the last time.

Last time, all Xie Jiling could think about was exorcising, and because Han Zhuofeng was afraid, she didn’t think of other things when they held hands.

But this time, it was different.

She was holding her boyfriend’s hand.

Xie Jiling’s palm felt itchy, and her heart was racing.

When they exited the elevator, Han Zhuofeng walked her to the door of her room.

Han Zhuofeng hadn’t spent enough time with her yet.

He stood at the door, saying, “We’re leaving at 5 to shoot with the production crew. If you think it’s too early, just stay in the hotel. I’ll come back to see you at noon when you’re awake.”

“I will follow you tomorrow,” said Xie Jiling immediately, “I don’t have anything to do anyway. If I wake up early, I can just sleep at the production site. You don’t have to come back, and it’s too tiring, so I can watch you shoot the film tomorrow at the production site. If you’re not busy in between scenes, you can spend some time with me.”

Xie Jiling’s voice was soft and delicate, especially when she said to spend time with her when he was not busy. Han Zhuofeng felt as if his heart had just been struck.

Han Zhuofeng felt that he would satisfy every single one of her requests.

She was so well-behaved that he could not stop himself from pampering her.

“Mmhmm.” Han Zhuofeng’s smile was so sweet it was as though there were stars in his eyes.

His long fingers linked with hers.

“I’ll call you in the morning, then,” said Han Zhuofeng, “I didn’t manage to get the room next to mine because it was occupied.”

Han Zhuofeng found it unfortunate.

Even though they wouldn’t be sleeping in the same room, if they were next to each other, he would be able to feel her.

“But I’m not that far from you; there are just about three rooms in between us,” said Han Zhuofeng.

“Okay.” Xie Jiling answered, and she had no idea why she said okay.

It wasn’t like she would go to his room, so why did she say okay?

“Goodnight, sleep early,” said Han Zhuofeng. But he did not let go of her hand.

It seemed like Xie Jiling didn’t realize it as well. “You, too.”

Han Zhuofeng looked at Xie Jiling without saying anything.

“Why?” asked Xie Jiling, curious.

“Can… can I… kiss you?” Han Zhuofeng explained immediately, “A goodnight kiss!”

Although Xie Jiling had never been in a relationship before, she had watched movies before.

In the movies, whenever a guy kissed a girl, the guy would never ask prior to doing it.

So. how should she answer?

However, Han Zhuofeng wasn’t that helpless.

Xie Jiling didn’t answer, so he assumed that Xie Jiling was fine with it.

He lowered his head and got closer. Then, he quickly pecked her lips.

He sucked his own lips, thinking that it was sweet.

The intimate physical interaction turned on a switch, and they didn’t feel that uneasy with each other anymore.

They felt a lot closer to each other, and they felt more comfortable being together.

“Because this is your first relationship, is this also your first kiss?” asked Xie Jiling.

Han Zhuofeng denied it in his heart. He had already secretly kissed her in Tacheng.

But he could not let Xie Jiling know about that.

So Han Zhuofeng went against his conscience and nodded. “Mmhmm.”

Luckily, Xie Jiling was also feeling nervous, so she didn’t notice Han Zhuofeng’s guilt.

She smiled, full of satisfaction. “Me, too.”

“I know.” Han Zhuofeng was also smiling.

The two smiled like idiots.

“Then, I’m going in. Rest early, too. You woke up even earlier than me today,” said Xie Jiling.
