IN LOVE WITH A SOLDIER - Season 9 Episode 75

Mike was sitting at Greg’s office as he dialed Lawrence’s number.

After waiting for quite a while, the call finally got connected.

“Hello, Mike,” Lawrence’s voice was heard from the other end of the line.

“Lawrence, can you talk right now?”

Mike asked excitedly. It had been a long time since the last time he heard Lawrence’s voice.

Greg who was sitting next to Mike was somewhat excited too. He was dying to ask Lawrence about Violet. He wanted to make sure that she was just fine.

“Yes, I can,” Lawrence replied.

Mike took a deep breath and calmed himself down after he heard Lawrence’s answer. He wanted to go straight to the point so he eventually said, “Sally started to make a move. She killed one of my Dad’s friends and…” Mike paused for a few seconds before he continued to tell Lawrence about Kate, “she tried to kill Aria’s Mom.”

“Where is Greg?” Lawrence asked at once as soon as Mike finished his words.

Mike glanced at Greg before he answered, “Greg is sitting next to me. I’m at XS Hospital now. Don’t worry, Kate is already out of danger. Greg did his best to save her. He promised that nothing bad will happen to her again.”

Lawrence didn’t say anything else after he heard Mike’s affirmative answer. Since Mike noticed that Lawrence fell silent on the other line, he continued, “But Lawrence, things are a little complicated now. I don’t know why, but Rebecca was involved in everything. I think she knows your relationship with Aria. I just don’t know how’d she know.”

“Where is Aria now?” asked Lawrence. “She’s in prison,” Mike replied.

He didn’t want to hide anything from Lawrence. Besides, Lawrence could have his own ways of finding things out even though he wouldn’t tell him.

“So what does your Dad plan to do?” Lawrence asked again. Mike immediately told Lawrence his plans.

“Let me deal with Sally. I’m sure that her next target is the JC Group so I must protect the company for you. I will never let her touch the JC Group. I have already asked Dad to announce that I will take over everything about the Yu Family.”

“If Sally is really planning to do something to the JC Group, she won’t care about you,” reminded Lawrence in a firm tone.

“At least she has to think about how to deal with me first before she takes any action,” Mike replied. His eyes were already burning with anger. How could he just sit back and watch when there was someone trying to destroy his peaceful life?

Lawrence was silent for a long time on the other end of the line.

“So, what are we going to do next?” Mike asked carefully.

“We wait,” Lawrence replied shortly.

“Wait?” Mike repeated in surprise. He was somewhat puzzled so he continued, “But the JC Group will soon be in danger and Aria is still in prison. Rebecca set her up.”

“Mike,” Lawrence suddenly shouted in a serious and firm tone.

“Yeah,” Mike replied. Even if he was so eager to do something now, he still had to listen to what Lawrence was going to say.

“Listen carefully to what I am going to say next,” Lawrence started. “Before I left, I already had a feeling that something bad will happen to Aria. But I didn’t expect that Rebecca will be the one to set her up. So I think it’s still Sally. She is really good at doing harm to someone by the hands of other people.

Anyway, you and Greg don’t need to do anything yet. Just wait for my words. Ask Greg to take good care of Kate and you don’t need to care about anything else.”

“But Lawrence…” Mike wanted to say something but Lawrence interrupted him harshly.

“Mike! Just do what I told you and do not do anything else,” repeated Lawrence in an angry tone.

Mike didn’t say anything else, and both ends of the line suddenly fell silent.

After a long silence, Lawrence finally talked again.

“I have to consider my parents’ feelings first before I take any measures against Sally. My parents still don’t know that Sally is in China right now. If my Dad knows, he will definitely meddle in everything. I don’t know what really happened between them in the past but I only hope that I can live a peaceful life again just like before. As long as she took a step back, I would not let her die,” Lawrence said. He was trying his best to calm down.

“But Lawrence, you have to remember that Sally already has a twisted mind now. I think she has decided to vent her anger to the JC Group and to the Chu Family. She wants to destroy everything related to your family because she doesn’t want your family to live a happy life. Don’t you really know what she wants to do?” Mike retorted in a hurry because he was afraid that Lawrence would hang up before he could even finish talking. He knew Lawrence too well and he was aware how impatient he was.

“Do you know how my Mom’s best friend Emily died? Do you know how my Aunt Jean died?” Lawrence asked back. “Sally He is the cause of all our family’s unhappiness. I wish I could kill her myself. But I know that my parents would never allow me to do that,” he added. His words silenced Mike.

Mike knew that those things that happened to the Chu Family were complicated but he didn’t know the details so he couldn’t feel the pain Lawrence was feeling right now.

“When I asked you to wait, I didn’t mean that I will allow Sally to do whatever she wants to do,” Lawrence spoke again. “So what did you mean?” Mike asked in puzzlement.

“If she dares to step into the JC Group, I promise that she will never get a chance to walk out of there alive,” declared Lawrence in a firm tone.

Mike didn’t get what Lawrence meant for a while. Did Lawrence mean that he had already made a plan and arranged everything against Sally in advance?

“Lawrence, does that mean…” Mike couldn’t finish his words because Greg was still with him in the office. He didn’t want Greg to hear what he was going to say.

“Yeah. She has been in the JC Group all the time,” Lawrence replied.

It seemed that Lawrence could read Mike’s mind. Even though Mike didn’t finish his words, Lawrence still knew what he was thinking. And what’s more, Lawrence’s answer made him know what to do next. He suddenly understood what he could do to lessen the harm on people around him.

“I’m relieved that you have a plan,” Mike said as a wide grin appeared on his handsome face.

“Then what about Aria? What should I do to her?” Mike suddenly asked as he remembered her pitiful situation inside the prison now.
