“Why?” Sharon asked, confounded. She couldn’t really understand what Sally said.

“If Mike hadn’t gone abroad, I wouldn’t have made the move. I know that he is difficult to deal with. The Yu family has eyes and influence all over the world.

They are even connected with the biggest mercenary group in Israel. So if the Yu family gets their hands in this, it would be difficult for me to take my revenge,” Sally explained.

Without waiting for Sharon’s response, she went on, “Looks like I underestimated Lawrence’s relationship with Mike. When Lawrence left this place, Mike also doesn’t want to stay here. They are good friends indeed.”

“What if Mike intervenes if we do something to Lawrence?” Sharon asked apprehensively. Sally also felt a bit worried when she heard Sharon’s remark. She contemplated for a moment.

After a moment of silence, Sally spoke up with a scowl, “You’re right. Mike is a problem. However, I haven’t planned anything to handle him.”

Sharon added, “The Yu family has always been mysterious. I also don’t know how to deal with them.” A resigned expression showed on her face.

“For now, Mike is not our main concern. We need to focus on Aria and her mother,” Sally said, trying to drop the topic.

“Well, you’re right. These two are our main targets,” Sharon agreed. “We were able to drug Kate without getting into any trouble but she was saved. It’s so annoying to know that she is still alive,” she continued.

Sally didn’t say anything.

She fell silent for a while. Then she said, “We can never tell what will happen in the future so I suggest, let’s just play it by ear.” She looked ahead with her deep eyes.

In the grand ceremony.

There were so many distinguished guests chatting, drinking, and laughing around. Several waiters and waitresses were busy walking to and fro with trays of food and drinks in their hands.

Rebecca was on the sixth floor. She was standing by the window of her lounge and watching the busy waitresses. She was wondering who among them was Aria Liu.

“Are you ready, Rebecca?” her assistant asked as she came in. “Can we leave now?” she asked, coming to check if she was ready to go out.

“I’m ready,” Rebecca replied indifferently. Then she looked at her assistant and asked, “What about the thing I asked you to do? Is everything ready?”

“Yes, everything’s ready,” the assistant replied with a nod. “Don’t worry. Aria will be the one to serve you the wine. I’ve already bribed the reporters and they know what to do.”

“Good,” Rebecca commented. Then she walked towards the table, opened her handbag, and took out a bottle of medicine.

The assistant could already tell Rebecca’s plan, so she immediately poured a glass of water and handed it to her.

“I’m betting my life this time so make sure you don’t fail. If you fail, I will not spare you,” Rebecca reminded her assistant while staring at her with ferocious eyes. Rebecca was so desperate that she was even willing to risk her own life just to cause trouble to Aria Liu. She was willing to do anything as long as she could punish her for seducing Lawrence. She wouldn’t let go of Aria Liu unless she got what she wanted.

Looking back at Rebecca, the assistant replied reluctantly, “Everything will go well as planned, Rebecca.”

Rebecca put three pills into her mouth, drank some water and swallowed them.
After controlling her emotions, she turned around and left the lounge. Her assistant followed briskly.

Aria Liu was enjoying her job so much. With a bright smile, she put all the empty wine glasses on the tray and headed to the backstage of the ceremony. Then she went back to the dining hall with the glasses full of wine and set them on the table. She took each step gingerly to avoid bumping into any guests or spilling the wine on them. She didn’t want to cause any trouble. Besides, she had an important task today. After the ribbon-cutting ceremony, she and the other two waitresses would serve the wine. Most importantly, she was responsible in serving Rebecca’s liquor. The pop star was a goddess to many people. At the thought of meeting the pop star face to face, Aria Liu couldn’t resist her rapture. She had watched a lot of Rebecca’s dramas.

For her, she was a gorgeous woman who emanated an irresistible charm. She liked Rebecca very much. It would be a great satisfaction for her to see her idol even if she couldn’t get a chance to talk to her.

Aria Liu suddenly thought that God really had mercy on her. A lot of good things happened. Her mother’s surgery was successful, she got a part-time job with a high pay, she met the man she loved, and this time she would be meeting a pop star. She thought she was really lucky.

She looked at the sky and held a deep breath. She told herself to stay strong and brave. She was already lucky enough so she should cherish everything. Her next goal was to be a good girlfriend to Lawrence. As she thought about him, she suddenly wondered what he could be doing abroad right now. ‘Did his sister have a successful surgery?’ she wondered.

After a short trance, she came back to the real world. She adjusted her mood and went back to work.

As the music and applause sounded, the ceremony officially started. One of the sponsors gave an opening remarks then the emcee announced the commencement of the ribbon-cutting.

Aria Liu who was standing at the backstage got rattled. Her heart beat rapidly at the thought of going up the stage to serve the wine. She couldn’t help but feel anxious.

The two waitresses beside her looked slightly nervous too.

“Do you think we can take a closer look at Rebecca?” one girl asked.
