“Okay,” Alice replied.

Then the two left the airport.

In a high-end and luxury residential area at the center of the city, there was an apartment that stood out because of its noble decoration and European style. Inside this apartment were two elegant women.

Sharon walked to Sally with two cups of coffee in her hands. She then gave one cup to Sally who was sitting on the sofa.
Sally elegantly said, “Thank you.” Then she put the coffee on the table.

Now that she was older, there were already wrinkles under her eyes and her skin was not as smooth as before. Only her clothes and accessories remained as expensive as it used to be. The brand of her clothes was obviously world-renowned. There was an emerald bracelet hanging on her left wrist and a ring in her right index finger. Although these jewelries looked common, they could give a special kind of feeling to someone who would wear them. Her hair was also very stylish.

Sally looked at Sharon who sat down in front of her and asked, “Is this news certain?” Sally felt that this woman in front of her was more beautiful but not as smart as her. However, she was enough to be her friend.

Sharon replied, “Yes. Lawrence has left. My people saw it with their own eyes so I’m sure of it.”

Sally smiled upon hearing Sharon’s confirmation. Then she asked another question, “Have you clarified what really happened in the hotel?”

“Yes,” Sharon replied confidently. “That room seemed to be booked for Lawrence Chu and Gabe Han’s daughter. But somehow, it was Lawrence who stayed there with a girl named Aria Liu and they didn’t leave until the next day.”

“Aria Liu,” Sally repeated the name. “Do some research about this woman. I want all the information about her,” Sally ordered.

“Yes, I’ve already sent some people to check on her. But by just looking at her photo, I can already sense that she is just a common person. I strongly believe that she is not from a rich family. She doesn’t even have a fashion sense.”

However, Sally was not happy after hearing what Sharon said. She angrily retorted, “You have to check everyone that is related to Lawrence.”

“Okay, I will,” Sharon replied quickly. She was afraid to anger Sally.

Sally was a little relieved when she heard Sharon’s promise. She continued to ask, “Who is Gabe Han?”

“He is the head of this city government. He isn’t so important in this city but he is influential in the government. I think Selina wants Lawrence to marry Gabe’s daughter. After all, if they become in-laws, the Chu family will become more powerful,” Sharon’s eyes were filled with hatred as she was explaining to Sally.

She hated Lawrence and his family.

Sally suddenly laughed and said, “Ha, ha, ha! Jackson has arranged a position for his nephew in government but he wasn’t aware that his nephew was already replaced by someone else. So his family had no one to rely on in the government anymore.

“Yes, you’re right,” Sharon agreed. “But the government officials are in a good relationship with the Chu family so I think they will naturally help them.” Since Sally had been away for a few years, she didn’t know that great changes had already taken place in this city. On the other hand, since Sharon had been staying here for quite a while, she knew better than Sally in situations like this.

“I’ve heard that Jackson’s nephew is also in Hong Kong. So since the whole Chu family has already moved to Hong Kong, why would they ask Lawrence to come here and take over the JC Group?”

Sharon asked in bewilderment. “They could have just given the JC Group to the Lu family. Alice Lu and her bother have strong capabilities when it comes to managing a business.”

Sally got irritated so she yelled, “If you don’t know, then shut up! Why do you think they could just casually give the JC Group to other people? Do you know whom the company belonged to before the Chu Clan?”

Sharon was puzzled so she asked, “Whom?” “It was Stephen An’s property,” Sally replied.

Then, a familiar figure suddenly appeared in her mind.

“Stephen An?” Sharon repeated. She tried to remember if she had any memories of this man but she failed. So she sighed and said, “I don’t know him.”

Sally just ignored her words. She didn’t intend to tell her anything about Stephen. She thought that Sharon didn’t need to know all these things. All she needed to do was to follow whatever she was told to do so.

After a short silence, Sally asked again, “Since Lawrence isn’t with Gabe’s daughter, is he with Aria Liu?” “Yes, I think so,” Sharon agreed.

“Then, our next goal is Aria.” Sally said with conviction.
