Despite what Rebecca did to her, she still tried to defend her.

“Mr. Lawrence, could you please take back your words. Don’t ban her. She has a lot of fans and she has a bright future.”
“Do you really know what kind of a person she is?” Lawrence asked.

Lawrence was annoyed but he couldn’t say more because he felt that this woman was so stupid and she was very different from Rebecca.

“Yes, I do. Rebecca has been in show business for so long and she has changed a lot. But I know she is a good person. She is not bad inside,” Ivy replied firmly.

When she finished her words, Lawrence was about to say something but before he could open his mouth, he saw Alice walking in.

When Ivy turned around and saw Alice, she bowed to greet her.

“What’s wrong?” Alice asked when she noticed that Ivy wasn’t in a good mood. “Is Lawrence harassing you?” “No, no, no,” Ivy hastily denied.

Then she added, “You might want to talk with Mr. Lawrence. I’ll go out now so I won’t bother you two.”

Then she went out of the room directly without waiting for them to agree.

Alice looked at Lawrence’s face. She then walked to him and sat beside him. She casually asked, “Lawrence, I’ve just heard that you made a fatal decision in the hall on the first floor.”

“Why would you say it was fatal?” Lawrence asked. He took the brandy on the table and drank a shot.

“I’ve heard that Rebecca has brought huge profits to the JC Group. Why did you suddenly dismiss her?” Alice asked. “She doesn’t deserve to be an actress of our company,” Lawrence replied.

“Oh,” Alice exclaimed on purpose.

She relaxed and continued, ‘It seems that you know her well.”

Lawrence peered at her and asked, ‘Why did you come here?”

Being asked, Alice remembered her real purpose on seeing Lawrence. She stood up and looked at Lawrence, “How do you propose we handle Sharon?”

Lawrence asked, “Are you asking me for yourself or for Greg?” “Well, then…” Alice was at a loss for words. She couldn’t give Lawrence a clear answer so she just said, “It doesn’t matter if it’s for myself or for someone else. Just don’t mind and tell me your plan. After all, she is Greg’s stepmother and if Violet gets back together with Greg, she will also need to call her ‘Aunt’. Do you want to give Violet a hard time when she stays at Greg’s home?”

Lawrence simply replied, “If it will be hard for her, then, she doesn’t need to live there. Violet can just live in my house and I am willing to support her for the rest of my life.”

But Alice didn’t want to give up. So she tried to persuade Lawrence more, “Oh, Lawrence. Violet is Greg’s wife and you should at least consider that.”

She knew that at this moment, Violet’s happiness was the only wager to convince Lawrence. She knew how important Violet to him. If she would use other excuses, Lawrence would definitely not listen to her all.

“If you came here just to be a lobbyist, you better get out now and give me some time to rest alone,” Lawrence replied.

Alice didn’t finish her words anymore because she knew that Lawrence clearly understood what she wanted to say.

“Get out,” Lawrence replied shortly.

“I’ll take that as a ‘yes’,” Alice said before she left.

Watching her leave, Lawrence felt so tired and top- heavy so he leaned on the sofa. He closed his eyes but he could still feel that his mind was in a mess. He was really annoyed by both Rebecca’s and Sharon’s matters. However, no one could understand his worries so no one could also help him out. But he also felt that maybe only Mike could help him. …

The moment Greg returned to the villa, he saw Sharon sitting on the floor in the living room while his father was sitting on the sofa. They were not saying anything.

Greg felt that the atmosphere was quite tense because they all knew what had just happened at the party.

Then suddenly, Sharon asked, “Greg, both you and your father know that Violet is Lawrence’s sister but why didn’t you tell me? Why did you hide this from me?” Her voice was full of anger and hatred. Specifically, Sharon was mad at Greg for hiding such an important thing from her.

“Why should I tell you?” Greg asked back. “To let you tell the whole world that your daughter-in-law is Lawrence’s sister?”

“Because I know what you will do once you find out,” Greg replied.

Then he added, “Don’t blame Father for what happened. It was me who asked him not to tell you.”

“Even if you didn’t tell me anything, you could have at least helped me. I was so humiliated in front of so many people today and yet, none of you tried to help me.” Sharon was already crying when she added, “Why didn’t you even say anything for me?” Greg didn’t know how to answer her question.

Sharon’s phone which was on the coffee table suddenly rang. She took the phone and after checking who was calling, she answered at once, “Hello, Sally. Are you back?”
