“By the way, Mrs. Sharon, I heard that your daughter-in-law has left the city, has she divorced your son?”

“Not yet, but I think they will divorce soon,” Sharon announced proudly, “I’ll get my son another girlfriend soon, and this time I’ll find one that matches up to his mark.”

“Mrs. Sharon, my cousin’s daughter has just come back from abroad. If you think it correct we could set a blind-date between your son and her? Well, I have to be very honest with you, I want you to ask your husband to help that girl find a job in the JS Group. After all, your family has such good relations with the Chu family, unlike others. People like us don’t even get the chance to meet members from the Chu family.”

“Of course I will, as long as your cousin’s daughter is a good girl and gets along well with my Greg. In fact, these demands of yours would also be fulfilled!” Sharon, who enjoyed the pleasure of being flattered, didn’t expect that someone was coming to meet her.

“Are you talking about matchmaking?” Selina asked whispering, as she and Amy walked towards them.

The ladies around greeted them.

“Hello, Mrs. Amy, Mrs. Selina.”

Amy didn’t say anything and instead looked at Sharon, whose words they had clearly heard a while back.

“Mrs. Sharon, I heard that Greg isn’t your child, is he? It seems that Greg doesn’t like you either, does he?” Selina asked sarcastically. Actually right now she just wanted to give a tight slap to Sharon.

How dare she could ignore the love between Greg and Violet and plan on ruining their love like this! Sharon must know that the Chu family would not tolerate any nonsense.

“How do you know what is happening in my family?” Sharon was terrified by Selina at that moment. Her heart trembled as other ladies maintained silence.

“Bah,” Selina sneered and said, “Sharon, you are so stupid I cannot believe it.”

Her words irritated Sharon. Selina was scorning at her in front of so many people. Her temper was rising and she could not understand what to say and do at that moment.

“Selina Lu, I know you are from a powerful family, but don’t you think you can bully me here and get no revenge. I tell you now, I’m a very important guest of the JC Group, you have to respect me as well!” Sharon tried to resist Selina.

“Has Lawrence Chu invited you personally?” Selina called Lawrence’s full name. Some ladies around them knew that the Chu and the Lu family were quite close, while others, who used to stay at home, were not aware of that.

Selina, who was by now glaring at Sharon with hatred filled her eyes, said, “Lawrence Chu is himself quite lovable and friendly with me. Do you think after what you have done to his sister any of us should be nice to you?”

Sharon, though afraid of Selina’s glare, did not want the reputation of her family to be insulted like this in front of so many people.

“Selina Chu, I know you have come from a powerful family, but this is a special party. You’d better not attack me here.” When Sharon referred to “special”, she meant she, unlike other ladies, was exclusively invited to the party.

“You know my family, well, what else do you know about any of us here?” asked Selina.

“What I know is none of your business!” Sharon, who was now almost lost for words, was in a panic situation.

“Sharon Qin, you will be a laughing stock in today’s party and be very sure of that,” said Selina, who resolved to tackle Sharon herself if Lawrence didn’t do so.

“You…” Sharon was so angry that she could now barely say anything to oppose Selina.

“Aunt Selina.” Somebody called from behind.

All the people turned to look from where the voice was coming.

Lawrence and Mike walked towards them.

All the ladies stepped back and nodded to Lawrence as soon as they saw him.

“You…who are you?” Sharon noticed that this man was different and it also appeared that all the people around respected and esteemed him.

“I’m Lawrence Chu,” he said. Sharon, who was standing in front of him, saw that he looked exactly like the person in the photo.

“You are the president of the JS Group?” Sharon cried out in surprise and then happily walked towards Lawrence, and said, “Thank you for your invitation! Thank you so much for calling us!”

Mike, who was standing between Sharon and Lawrence, stopped her when he saw her approaching. Mike said, “Hey you, old mistress, please behave yourself.” Hearing this all the guests laughed, including Selina and Amy.

‘Old mistress! How dare he call that?!’ Sharon blushed with embarrassment.

Mike, neglected Sharon’s surprised face, and sneered at her, “How do you think I would want to call you, maybe like, big sister?”

Another set of laughter came. All the ladies put their hands on their mouths, laughing at her plight.

Sharon looked around and was lost for words. She thought she should behave herself if she didn’t want to be kicked out from the party, more so since Lawrence, the party’s host was standing there.

“You can address me in some other manner, like Mrs. Xiao. My husband is…” Mike cut in before she could even finish her words.

“Your husband is Fred Xiao, the president of the XS Hospital, right? And now you want to tell me that your son is Greg Xiao, don’t you?” Mike finished what Sharon was intending to say.

“Yes,” Sharon nodded heavily, having nothing else to say.

“Then do you know him?” Mike asked, with his fingers pointing towards Lawrence.
