“80% sure! Tim and I will go to XS Hospital for an examination later. Greg has already arranged the time for us and then only the results will be out,” Alice told her parents.

Amy and Derek shared a look, pleasantly surprised.

“So, I am going to be a grandma!” Amy screamed, looking thrilled.

“And I will be a grandpa too,” Derek added. He then turned to look towards his daughter and ordered, “Go and take the examination after lunch! Ask Greg to check whether it’s a boy or girl! I can’t wait to know that right now.”

“Dad, he can’t tell whether it’s a boy or girl. Anyway, either a boy or girl will be good for me,” Alice said. Her father was looking more anxious than her.

“I can’t wait to know it. After you take the examination, come back home immediately and don’t go back to your apartment. Stay here from now onwards, your mother and I will take good care of you,” Derek directly ordered.

“Dad, I have just become pregnant. Don’t be so anxious for me. When I am in late pregnancy, I will certainly rely on you and you won’t be able to get rid of me then. Mom, you should cook for Tim as he can’t go to work with an empty stomach,” Alice said to her mother, like a small child.

“Rest assured! I will be responsible for cooking for all three of you,” Amy promised her.

“I love you so much, my dearest and greatest mom!” Alice snuggled into her mother’s arms.

“Well, Alice, what will happen to your work since you are pregnant now? Amy thought of it and asked worriedly.

Alice said in a serious voice, “I have just discussed this with Tim about it. If I am really pregnant after the examination, I will get in touch with one of my college classmates to help me in managing my studio. Dad, I will need you to find a place for her to stay then.”

Amy and Derek nodded their heads to show their agreement to the same. What Alice had planned sounded excellent.

“That’s good! That way, your studio won’t be affected,” Derek commented.

“Yes, I have put a great deal of my hard work into my studio and I am unwilling to close it like this,” Alice said. She had made great efforts and devoted all her energy into the studio and it was like her baby now, how could she give it up so easily?

“Dad, Mom!” Tim suddenly called his parents-in-law, “I also have something to ask your opinions about.”

“Go ahead,” Amy responded.

“If Alice is confirmed to be pregnant, I want to take her to Canada to stay with my parents for a period of time. After that, we will be back and would get her delivery done here. After that, we will certainly stay at home with you,” Tim said.

Amy nodded. After she had glanced at Derek, she said to Tim and Alice, “It sounds like a great idea! You have been with us all the time. You should now spend some time with your parents too. They will certainly be happy for you after knowing the good news. But remember to take good care of Alice!”

“I will, Mom,” Tim said with a resolute expression.

At the gate of XS Hospital, Violet and Greg had been waiting eagerly for them to arrive.

“Violet,” Alice shouted as soon as she got off the car.

“Alice,” Violet hurriedly ran towards her and carefully held her hand aware not to hurt her, asking, “Are you really pregnant?”

“The pregnancy test stick says that I am. But I am yet not sure, that’s why I have come to the hospital to confirm the fact,” Alice said.

“I’ve made arrangements for everything. Let’s go inside,” Greg said.

Violet put her arms into that of Alice’s and walked ahead, followed by Greg and Tim.

“Thank you so much, Greg,” Tim showed his gratefulness.

“We are friends and there is no scope for such formalities between friends. After your baby is born, I’d like to be his/her godfather if you both do not mind,” Greg said.

“That’s for sure! Violet and Alice are as close as sisters and we could have a child betrothal after our kids are born,” Tim said.

“Haha, that will depend on when we will have our baby. Anyway, they are the bosses and we have to listen to their commands,” Greg said while helplessly shrugging his shoulders.

“Yes, they are the queens of our lives and we have to obey their orders,” Tim echoed.

After finishing the examination, Violet and Alice were waiting excitedly for the results to come.

“Violet, I am so nervous about this,” Alice said, holding Violet’s hands tight.

“Take it easy, dear! After you have your own baby, your life will become more splendid,” Violet comforted her, giving her an encouraging smile at the same time.

Tim and Greg said nothing and they also just sat there quietly waiting for the result.

A doctor, having an examination form in his hand, came to Greg and handed the paper to him, reporting, “Mr. Greg, this is the examination result of Miss Lu.”

“Okay, thank you!” Greg took the form and read it carefully while others waited for him to say something.

“How is it, what does it say?” Tim was so nervous and anxious that he grabbed the report from Greg’s hands and read it carefully.

“What’s the result, darling?” Violet asked.
“Alice is pregnant by two months now and everything is okay,” Greg replied, smilingly.

Violet and Alice all let out a sigh of relief and smiled happily.

“Congratulations, Alice! You are going to be a mom now, it is such a wonderful feeling!” Violet was so happy for her.

“Violet, you will be my baby’s godmother, and Greg his godfather. Remember that both of you!” Alice said.

“Of course!” Violet said.

After this delightful news, they took a walk in the park of XS Hospital. Violet and Alice held each other’s hands tightly.

“Violet, do you still remember when we went to school hand in hand when we were young?” Alice asked.

“Of course, I do. I remember everything. We have always been best friends and sisters and we will never be apart from each other,” Violet said with emotion.

“From now on, Tim and I, Greg and you, we four people will move forward towards a happy life,” Alice exclaimed.

“Yes, we all should make efforts to stay happy and enjoy our life,” Violet added, with a big smile on her face.
