His Nanny Mate - Season 4 Episode 44
Ella
Our breaths intertwined in the small room, mixing with the scent of moth balls and old memories, as we quickly smoothed down our clothes and stepped apart. Logan looked as if he had something to say, but quickly shut his mouth after a glare from me.
Then, just as we had managed to create a facade of innocence, the door swung open, revealing the intruders: Marina and Harry.
They sauntered in without so much as a greeting, their eyes scrutinizing every detail of the room, the air thick with unspoken insinuations.
“What were you two doing?” Marina’s tone was laden with feigned innocence, her eyes gleaming with amusement and that all-knowing look that she always seemed to have.
I felt my heart do a flip inside my chest. Had they heard? Had they followed us here? Had they been… watching, somehow? Collecting evidence of our fake relationship, maybe>
Logan, with a stern expression, retorted, “That’s none of your business. But if your curiosity knows no bounds, we were just reminiscing about childhood.”
Harry, seemingly amused by this, sauntered across the room. A smirk came across his lips as he spotted the little wooden car and snatched it up. There was something possessive in his mannerisms as he held it, something rough and unempathetic. Logan had held it so delicately before, but Harry… He owned it. Or least he thought he did.
“Oh, reminiscing, are we?” he mocked, a cruel smirk playing on his lips as he turned the little wooden car over in his thick fingers. “Do you remember how you used to bawl your eyes out whenever I took these away from you, Logan?”
Logan shrugged, glancing away. “Don’t really remember much. Not about that, at least.”
With a scoff, Harry tossed the toy down with a thud onto the table. I could see Logan’s posture stiffen ever so slightly, his blue eyes flickering toward the toy.
“You were always such a crybaby,” Harry continued as he wandered around the room. “Always one thing after another. Mommy, mommy! Harry broke my toy!” His voice raised an octave as he imitated a childlike Logan in a mocking tone.

I felt a sting at Harry’s words and stepped forward, my voice a blend of firmness and reproach. Maybe it was my own experience with Daisy that softened me, or maybe it was just Harry’s caustic personality.
“There’s nothing wrong with a child crying over their possessions,” I said in a low voice. “But there is everything wrong with stealing from someone, especially from a sibling.”
Harry’s eyes raked over me, a mixture of mockery and condescension in his gaze. “Oh, the false prophet speaks. Pretending to be all high and mighty when in reality, you’re not all that different.”
“And what do you mean by that?” I retorted, folding my arms across my chest. Logan shot me a warning glance, urging me not to get involved, but it was already too late.
“Don’t act like you don’t know what they say, Miss Morgan,” Harry chided, his smirk almost doubling in size. “About your father. The cold, heartless billionaire.”
His words, edged with venom, implied knowledge of my past, of the father I knew had been far from a saint before my adoptive mom entered our lives.
“You think you know everything, don’t you?” I shot back, my eyes narrowing. “Yes, my father had his flaws, his misgivings. He mistreated humans, overlooked the value of equality, but a good woman changed him. Made him better.
Can you say the same?”. My eyes flicked over to Marina, but she was like stone. Her face betrayed no emotion. I couldn’t tell if she was just an excellent actress or if she genuinely didn’t care.
A knowing smile curved Harry’s lips. “Oh, just like you’re trying to do with my dear brother?” The mockery in his voice was palpable, his gaze shifting between Logan and me, drawing parallels I hadn’t allowed myself to consider.

“That’s enough, Harry,” Logan said, stepping in. He slipped his arm around my waist, causing me to grow somewhat tense after our impassioned encounter, but it was also comforting at the same time. “Come on, Ella. Let’s go.”
Logan began to guide me over to the door, but before we could reach it, Harry stepped in the way.
“Just one more thing,” Harry sneered.
Logan sighed. “What is it, Harry?”
He leaned in closer, his voice a whisper laced with sinister glee. “Did you know, dear Ella, Logan once had a man shot simply for daring to look at him the wrong way?” The words, meant to shock, to wound, hung in the air, a shadow between Logan and me.
My eyes, wide with shock, flickered to Logan, a thousand unspoken questions swirling in their depths. Was the man I was seeing, the man exposing his vulnerability, his past, capable of such cruelty?
“Don’t listen to him,” Logan growled.
But it was too late.
“Oh, it happened in college, a rather splendid party,” Harry began, the mirth in his voice making my skin crawl. “Logan, the ever- passionate lover, found his girlfriend with another guy.”
As Hårry spoke, his words painted a picture of a younger Logan filled with fury, a stark contrast to the Logan that had just shared his childhood memories with me moments ago.
“He completely lost it,” Harry continued, relishing each word, each reaction from us. “Beat the poor guy to a pulp. A couple of days later, guess what happened to him?” Harry’s eyes were alight with sadistic glee as he recounted the tale, and I could feel a cold knot forming in the pit of my stomach.
“The guy got shot in the shoulder,” he finally spat out, a triumphant grin plastered on his face. “Survived, yes, but he needed emergency medical attention. No one ever proved that it was your dear Logan, but I know better.”
A silence fell over the room. Logan’s grip tightened slightly around my waist, his blue eyes urging me not to listen.
My wolf’s voice, a whisper in the chaos, resolutely spoke up in my mind. “He’s lying, or at the very least bending the truth.” I knew that my wolf was right: Harry wasn’t trustworthy, not in the slightest. But this… If it was true, what did it mean? Did Logan shoot a guy himself? Did he have him shot? Pay someone to do it, perhaps?
“Come along, dear,” Marina chimed in. Her eyes flickered over to me, filled with an emotion that I couldn’t quite read. If I didn’t know better, I would almost think that she was… nervous.
With a smirk, Harry turned on his heel and headed toward the door. His hand rested on the knob for a moment before he turned back to give me one final glance over his shoulder, raising his free hand in the shape of a gun.
“Remember, Miss Morgan,” he began, aiming the finger-gun at my head. “One misstep… Bang.”
Harry’s words made me flinch. A chuckle escaped his lips, and just like that, he and Marina were gone.
A long, palpable silence fell over the room in their wake. Suddenly, the place of warm memories and passionate touches felt like a tomb haunted by Logan’s demons.
All I could do was slowly look up at Logan to meet his stony gaze, fixed on the door, as his jaw clenched tightly.
